I actually personally love this approach of how mermaids would look like because in older stories mermaids would lure in fishermen with their beauty and singing and once they got close enough they would show their true face and eat them whole. Also fish look really weird and the more deeper you dive into the ocean the more weird looking creatures you find so dont be expecting a Ariel look alike lmao.

Yeah except this isn’t exactly a “lobelia plant mimicking a hummingbird” kind of thing where one would know what the other looks like, this is more of a “how tf does a thing that lives at the bottom of the ocean know what we look like” kind of thing
If there's one thing that stands out to me, it's the fact that they don't really look like monsters. Rather, they look like actual deep-sea creatures that happen to have a humanoid-type of structure. A bit unsettling, of course, but they look plausible in design rather than made just to scare someone.

Daniel Zhao Yup. They actually started off with the image of a woman with a fish tale, and as they added all the necessities to her body, she ended up slowly morphing into a manatee. As they say, the mermaids that a lot of people have come to know them as because of stories and tales told throughout time, are nothing more than fantasies that lonely men at sea conjured up, while away from land and women for so long..

So, does she still want to be a mermaid?
This is probably the most accurate depiction of mermaids. If they existed, they would probably look like this. Doesn't make it any less terrifying though.
probably my favorite subgenre of horror, mockumentary stuff on creatures ate always a treat to watch
The fish are just swimming by. I’d be to afraid to move lol
The final one gave me chills
Just impressive work and FX. It looks oddly real, and at the same time every sighting is a piece of art.
Oddly enough these mermaids don't look like they'd be much of a threat to humans.
