Love the General, the song, and all Beach Music. Having grown up in the 50's & 60's, the oldies is my favorite music with Carolina beach music oh so close behind. here's the thing, so many Carolina beach music songs came from the oldies. One artist from back in the day may have 30 songs but only several will make the Beach Music cut. I for one think that the oldies and carolina Beach Music will be around till the end of time.

I mostly agree. I grew up on Carolina beach music, too. However, I am an 80s child. I also love Bon Jovi and 80s rock. But, beach music always takes me home in my mind.

I lived in Calif. 7 yrs and was once invited to a beach music session at a friend's home. After listening to several songs I told my friend that we need to "squat that mule and ride another one". While he was trying to figure out what I just said, I told him to ditch the Beach Boys and pulled out my multiple Artist CD with The general, The Embers, The Tams, Maurice williams, ben E King & many more. since Calif. people do a lot of swing dancing, they danced to the music and seemed to like the rythem. at the end we agreed to dissagree on which coast had the best Beach Music. As for me and my friend we still be good but I was never invited back for beach music. My bad

I was raised in Columbia S.C. & Charlotte N.C. & S.C. is my fav. state & N.C. is my 2nd fav. state & Utah is my least fav. state & that's where i live now & I don't like living here in Utah, But I visit the Carolinas all the time tho...
@@carolinagirl220 yea, I know, I can't come visit the Carolinas during this outbreak cause a lot of things will be shut down & I don't think their are many flights going to & from Charlotte N.C. rite now or anywhere cause of the COVID-19 outbreak!! p.s. I always fly into Charlotte N.C. when I visit the Carolinas & I always visit my God parents in Columbia S.C. & they always take me to their condo in Myrtle Beach S.C. & then I spend the rest of my time visiting friends in Charlotte N.C.
This song is quite catchy. Was in Charleston and Beaufort in August and fell in love with the area. The food, people, history and sights were delightful.
