The difference with season 3 from season 1 & 2 is that there are no super freak singers like Karise or super sad back story like Rachael's or Harrison's and as you pointed out, it's the showdowns that's really good, not the auditions or battle rounds ( with the exception of a few ) So basically, there will be no pity votes and no unbackable singer this season, so it's pretty much an even playing field with several singers that can win it purely from singing/performance and not because of anything else.
I revisit this every 6mths or so and every time I get the same feeling run through me. The tone in his voice is bang on, the melody he takes, Joel just being a legend and proud coach, then his mum!!! You know she’s heard this in the living room a thousand times and just can’t get enough of it, warms the cockles of your heart

Why are their chairs facing the performer? I thought the whole point of the show was for them to be turned around so that the only thing they're basing off the singer is their voice and not their looks????pleass explain bc this is not what they do in the USA
