Everyone deals with insecurity to various extents but it is not okay to blame everything on Ethan and make it seem like it was all his fault just because Kat couldn't handle certain situations like how to meet his parents for the first time, etc.

I am not watching this show, but from those clips, I am guessing that their relationship didn't work out because Ethan was so better than Kat that being around him made her very aware of her own flaws she didn't like about herself, that is why she broke up with him, not exactly because of him, but because she didn't love herself and staying around him meant she would have to face her own flaws, but she just wasn't mature enough to stand all that and mature. Also, if it isn't the case and I am tripping, then what I wrote could made up for a very interesting dramatic story if done right.

The “I’ll my best to make sure that it’s me” makes its sadder. It’s frustrating because the way she talked to Nate in 2x04 I was cheering her on, speaking her mind. To then be a coward in 2x06. She definitely has some form of imposter syndrome seen in 2x02. Also as I’ve seen people mention before, if she would’ve asked he would’ve done whatever she wanted. He can obviously play the role of whatever she would need. Plus in 1x06 their first intimate moment he took initiative because he saw that’s what she wanted, despite his lack of experience.
Honestly, Ethan would be a very good bf for Maddie. He’s confident in himself and won’t be insecure with the attention Maddie gets. And Maddie will be straight up honest with him. He will give her the support she needs. And in this case, Kat may feel uncomfortable if it happens because of this scene but won’t feel betrayed.

I still resent the writers for breaking them up-like they had their happy ending in S1 if they want to further develop Kat’s story they could’ve focused on her self loves story and Ethan being there for her every step of the way. Ethan is the type of guy you marry after High school, he’s so emotionally mature and she fucked it up like it’s okay for it to be right guy, wrong time…but the way she went about breaking up with him made me almost physically ill. I’m pretending season 2 never happened. At all. The dance is where it ends and Kat and Ethan had an awesome senior year and are now off at college, still together and blissfully and enviably happy 😊 That’s my story and no one will EVER take that away from me

She definitely has some form of imposter syndrome seen in 2x02. Also as I’ve seen people mention before, if she would’ve asked he would’ve done whatever she wanted. He can obviously play the role of whatever she would need. Plus in 1x06 their first intimate moment he took initiative because he saw that’s what she wanted, despite his lack of experience.
