I recently upgraded to the 12. I was using the 10. Personally, I love it. The stabilization is a lot better and the video looks even better. I mainly shoot in 4K60p for my hiking stuff. Great video - didn't know about this yet.
The 10 to the 12 is a solid upgrade. I agree, the stabilization from the 10 to the 12 is definitely more refined and the clarity and detail in the video on the 12 is great. Thank you.

If you select Auto ISO, the camera will adjust the ISO automatically.

I wander what the degree difference would be between linear vs max lens 2.0 linear?
From my testing it seems that both are the same field of view width.
My GoPro 12 and Quik App are up-to-date, but when I click on the pencil icon next to a preset, I don't get an option to rename 😢
I would recommend restarting both the GoPro and your phone and then repair them and see if it offers the option in the Quik app after doing so.
the zooming function is very cumbersome .they need to do something to make it user friendly

Hello,
I would like to do a time lap with the GoPro9 over several days, with an interval of 2 minutes, but the GP9 stops after 400 shots. That's just 5+GB, so it's not due to the memory space on the cards.
Do you have an explanation for this?
Do I have to change something in the settings, or can the 9er only do timelaps with 400 recordings?

Do you have the Hero 9 connected to an external power bank? If so, do you have the GoPro battery installed or removed while powering it externally?

@DirtbagonWheels hmmm that normally should work fine with no issues. Are you running the latest firmware and have duration set to infinity?
Is it worth upgrading from the 11 to the 12?
The GP-Log functionality on the Hero 12 is the biggest reason I would recommend upgrading from my experience using both cameras. If you don’t plan to utilize that mode then there isn’t a major difference between the two cameras from my perspective.
Do I need a laptop for grade go log ? Or can I do it with iPad ?
Great question. A laptop isn’t necessary if you’re using an app on your iPad such as DaVinci Resolve that allows you to grade and apply a LUT.

I own the GoPro 11 and I'm quite happy with it but I'm very disappointed they discontinue any improvements and feature updates on the 11, I don't expect 10 years of updates and support but at least 2 or 3 years would show they care about their customers and they clearly not, the moment a new one is released the previous one is completely left with no updates, the 11 could have all the features the 12 has, I don't expect all of them but for example the new UI on the 12 is something I'd love to see on my GoPro 11, but yea never gonna buy another GoPro.
The 11 does continue to get firmware updates but of course not as often as the Hero 12. I believe the 11 last got a firmware update on Oct 31, 2023. I expect it’s possible GoPro could add the preset rename feature to the 11 as well. Let’s hope so.
I heard that the GP 11 was supposed to get live previewing. I'm starting to think that's not happening either.

@z352kdaf8324 The GoPro Labs firmware is very useful, especially when using it on GoPro models that are not the newest model. It enables one to get more out of the GoPro for sure.
Is Linear when using the MLM 2 a wider FOV than the standard Linear?
This is a great question. From my testing it looks like Linear with the Max Lens Mod 2.0 is the same FOV width as it is without the Max Lens Mod 2.0.
@@GreatDayForAHike thanks for answering that question; I was wondering it too. That's a bit disappointing! I was hoping for a bit wider of a linear FOV like on the DJI Action 4.

Nope! With MLM2 the FOV is practically the same, the colors are darker, THE DETAIL IS LESS.
Furthermore, using MLM2 and recording in 4:3 , the post-processing 16:9 crop is much less defined than 16:9 in the camera

@@GreatDayForAHike Competition is good. But weeding through all the reviews to get to the truth is tough. GoPro has been great for me. It's been interesting watching the influencers pump the Ace Pro for about 3 weeks and then almost to the minute, they all came out with videos saying that maybe it's not so great and we bought into the hype. The only thing I wish GoPro would change is adding a mic jack.
