You mention installing a 400 Series double hung window. Did you do a video for that? Thank you

You never caulk or tape the bottom sill of any window. Reason being is you are trapping moisture and not allowing a path for it to escape. Same with taping the housewrap to the drip cap. Also Andersen clearly states if you do not fill all the holes in the nail flange you void the warranty on the window.

I believe the barrier method is an adopted method for window installation around the cape. (Cape Cod Massachusetts ) where wind driven rain will get under the open flange and eventually into the house. My company does it - I don’t love it but I’m slowly buying in.

Is this for new construction or a replacement window?

This is for new construction. But it can be dome as a replacement
