You are a wonderful teacher! Thank you for sharing your special gift with us! I hope to make this lovely capelet for my soon to be 98 years young mother in law. Happy Easter to you and your family
I finished my cape today. It came out beautiful. I really love it. I followed your pattern but added 3-buttons and knitted it a bit longer. Can't wait to get it washed and blocked so that I can begin to use it. Thank you again, Joanne. I really am very happy with this garment.
How lovely! Congrats, Jean. Can't wait to see it! Will it be for you or as a gift?
@@JoannesWeb For me :)
I finished the 1st one...on to the 2nd! Love this pattern. 🤗❤🧶
It's a lovely caplet. Thank you.
I tried to make this one year ago but it was not good. It was my first time to knit. It is the best simple cape style I wanted so I searched again and am nearing to finish. Thank you.

She’s wonderful!
I LOVE your version of increasing stitches!! Wow! It's so neat & uniform. What a beautiful capelette. Thank you for sharing this. And I love that you knit like I do - I don't feel like an oddball watching you.
Hi could you please explain what she meant by every other right side row?
In this sentence "Then keep on working and adding stitches by m1 on each side of the middle stitches, on EVERY OTHER right side row, until 12” from the start. "
@@eyas8519 I suppose she means that you have to increase every second row (the row with the "right"stiches in contrast to the "purl"stitches) Hope this will help you - although you asked pretty long time ago... 🌸
Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us. I really enjoy this tutorial. Definitely I will going to make one. Thank you again. 🙏🏻
Lovely simple pattern, thank you so much
I LOVE it. So very pretty. It is really lovely. Thank you for sharing. As soon as I'm done with my blanket, I will cast this capelet onto my needles.

Si. Lo es. Y muy comodo.
I am a newbie knitter and I think I can do this!! What size is this? Will a 40" circular needles be long enough? I love watching your videos, even when I didn't know how to knit and now I do! Thank you for teaching me so much about knitting!
Wonderful thank you too much
Great video!
Please can you do a tutorial on slipped hourglass stitch?
Please. I'm so confused
Muito lindo. Vou tentar fazer. Beijos aqui do Brasil🇧🇷
Apologize for the late comment but just found your gorgeous caplet on subscription. How wide is caplet at the bottom please. Like yourself my shoulders and arms are always so cold also and this caplet will work great. I just finished a different one but disappointed the edges folded in and a little to big to do my wench duties. 😂. Ty for the pattern 🧶
I no longer have it. It's medium size. You can adjust it to make it wider or longer. Keep knitting until you have the with you need.
What is the amount of yarn yardage needed, plz?
Hi! Regarding the increases of the, is it important to count the stitches between the 2 and 3rd markers and place a new stitch in the middle? And do I remove the 1st and 4th markers?
I always count the stitches. I feel safer while knitting my projects. As far as removing markers, I 'm sorry don't understand when you are talking about. Please tell me again.
This caplet is really pretty! Thank you for the video! Did you use 1 or 2 skeins of 231 yards? Thank you!
Such a lovely design. Are all the M1 increase stitches M1L? Thanks.
Thank you for the tutorial ,you said to knit 24rows for the collar, down below it says 14 rows , I did 24 rows and it looks ok. Is it 21” from neck to border?? It seems very short even with a 2” border!! Are these measurements correct ? Thank you .
You can make it as long as you wish. I will check on the number of rows. Thank you.
How much Yarn did you need for this project (in gramms, please)? Thank you so much for this tutorial! I'm going to try it!
2 skeins of 211m each=422m 100 grams each=200gr.
@@JoannesWeb Thank you!

Glè mhath! Sin snog!
Hi @JoannesWeb, I have tremors, and need to work this with 5.0 needles, they're the smallest I'm able to comfortably work with; would the stitch count be the same? or can I reduce it by some stitches?
Hi Alexandra. The pattern calls for: #7US (4.5) long cable circular needles. I don't believe using # 5.0 mm needles will make a difference. This is a very pretty cape. Enjoy it!
@@JoannesWeb Thank you. I managed to knit two swatches, one on 4.5 needles and the other on 5.0. The size difference was a matter of 2 stitches.... I agree, I think it will be fine! Thank you so much for coming back to me!
ETA: It took me over 25 minutes to knit the 4.5 swatch and 17 to knit the 5.0 swatch. So I'm glad I tried it! It's progressing well. Will send you a picture via email once it's all done! Thanks again!
After 7" do i need to increase stichs on marker?
It's on the instructions about half way from the start.

You don't say how much yarn you need can you please tell so I can buy the yarn
Thank you
Colleen
I use the 2 skeins. Each had 231 yards.
Thank you for reply I will buy accordingly
Colleen
HI @JoannesWeb. Is there a size for this capelet?
Medium.
Oh, I casted on 88 stitches AND WORKED ROW 1 IN K1P1 RIB ALL THE WAY AROUND BUT THAT'S INCORRECT? You only ribbed 4 stitches on each end and the rest are just knit stitches? Yes, I understand you reversed the last 4 rib stitches.
It's seed stitch on the edges
@@JoannesWeb it would be so much simpler to state that. Also, I cast on 88 stitches and with the markers it just didn't work out correctly. If I have 14 sts to 1st marker, if I seed stitch the first 4 sts, then there is 10 sts to work in stockinette. At the other end, after last marker I have 18 stitches left. You either have to reduce # of stitches or move marker placements ti have an even # of stitches between each section. 84 stitches is divisible by 14.
I don't understand what I must do after I reach 7 inches, could someone help me please?
Please watch the video. Keep on working and adding stitches by m1 on each side of the middle stitches, on EVERY OTHER right side row, until 12” from the start.
@@JoannesWeb same i am! so, do we simply keep increasing at all marker on right sides for more 12 inches? same way we made the 7''?
Just lovely, would you consider doing a crochet version.
Ciao quante maglie metti ? All’inizio Graxie

I love the capelet, however while watching your tutorial I'm not understanding the middle stitch. You show you increases, then your purl row and then when you come back to do another increase there is a smaller marker and you mention about a middle stitch. Exactly what is this middle stitch?
The middle stitch is the one in between the 2 increases. So, you make 1, knit one and make one. The knitted one is the middle stitch
@@JoannesWeb Thank you so much. You had me confused for a little bit because when you came back your original stitch marker was was still in it's original place and you had another smaller stitch marker on the roll and I thought I had missed something
Your written instructions below are very confusing!
