Travis is an "accidental" auditor. He doesn't seek out bad cops. But, it seems they are drawn to him. He finds them in almost every town he goes to. In Louisiana, he found bad cops, prosecutor, and horrible Judge Owlsly. If you want to root out bad cops in your town, invite Travis to stop by. They'll show up, soon.
And there are always many police officers available. Never believe them when they say more cops are needed. It’s always been a lie.

It’s the Spider-Man pointing at the other Spider-Man’s meme
I still don't get how loitering can be a crime. Like, you're legit just chilling, doing nothing, and cops can just show up and charge you for that? So absurd.
Edit: I'm not american, so I don't understand all of the laws there, but this one just seems really absurd and out of place. Some of you have said things like that it was created to charge homeless people (which is even more fucked up), or to charge "suspicious" persons roaming around businesses or private properties (but isn't that what trespassing's for?). Anyways, it just seems to be a very abusable law for cops to charge people for no reason.
its to keep minorities out of white neighborhoods.. as usual, racist origins!
I know: like i understand if it’s that you can’t just hang out in an open to public place such as a Walmart parking lot but if you’re in a public park, then I don’t understands loitering laws.
Those 'crimes' exist, because there are people (and politicians) who believe 'absolute authority of local cops, is a good way to get undesirable people out of sight'.
It is indeed bullshit, hence why such laws usually don't hold up to constitutional scrutiny.
I have a solution that then prevents the government from making stupid laws like that.
Go tell all the gang members and terrorists to stop hanging out together in groups in public spaces. Should resolve the issue.
Those are the laws set up for when slaves won freedom but then most of them were homeless. They could be jailed just by sitting in a park.
I was homeless in the past with and without a car, the police absolutely HATE people sleeping in their cars. Honestly, what the hell are you supposed to do if you have nowhere else to go? Just disappear?
If homeless, just go to San Francisco or Los Angeles and you can live in your car anywhere and poop in the street for free

I'm a LEO and over the years have noticed a lot of officers know parts of laws but not the full law. And only a few times have I seen them look up the law their trying to use to make sure their getting it right. Instead what I see them do is make up their own laws . Haven forbid you correct them on what their saying. Even if it's another officer stepping in telling them what they are saying makes no sense. I once got into a shouting match with one of my sergeants when he was making up his own law and violating a person's rights . He screamed at me and told me I didn't know what I was talking about. Even after he was proven wrong he would not apologize. I'm not saying he should have told me he was sorry but he should have told the 2 men he had arrested he made a mistake and he was sorry. Police officers are just like everyone else we make mistakes the difference is most officers won't take responsibility for their mistakes. This Chief of Police is out of control. This is not the old west were the Sheriff runs the outlaws out of his town. You would think in today's world with most officers wearing body cams they would really try to get it right especially with the way the public sees law enforcement. I can tell by this Chief's attitude he thinks he really has the power to do what he wants when he wants with no consequences. We are in the age of accountability and the days of sweeping it under the rug is over.
In every state, there are cops who knowingly turn a blind eye, or worse, work to cover up the wrongdoing of their fellow officers.
Until that stops, there is no such thing as a good cop. You must assume when, interacting with ANY of them, that they are the worst of the bunch and act accordingly.
I'm sorry, " your sergeant " is a moron.. he's not the only psychopath officer in my experience most are.
I believe that a great many cops follow a principal where they know a very small and select amount of the law and use their "discretionary Powers" to arrest or harass anyone they don't like the look of then rely on some schmuck of a judge to sort out the messes they have caused. Perhaps if every arresting officer had to take a loss in pay for every defendant's case that the courts throw out for violation of the person's civil rights they might become a little more circumspect about arresting folk on questionable grounds. personally
People at your job are rarely or ever held accountable. Thus these monsters linger everywhere. Safety is only guaranteed by cameras now, since there are no consequences when officers misjudge, escalate, violate or abuse.
Isn’t this how “Rambo” started? 😂😂😂 Theses cops should be careful 🤣.

The need for as many prisons would also be reduced. innocent people wouldn't end up dead on the side of the road. The hundreds of billions in rewards due to lawsuits would also be greatly reduced. Money then could be relocated to poverty initiatives, mental health programs, housing, healthcare or other civic improvements. Imagine if fire departments were run like police departments. I heard about this happening once on the west coast. Dude was looking for his Vietnam buddies but learned he was the last one left. They drove him to the edge of town and told him to leave but he started walking back into town and we'll let's just say all hell broke loose
It seems that everybody is too young to see the connection between what you're saying and what we're watching, but I feel you, John Rambo lives on.

That's the thing, police don't like human beings

- A citizen caught inflicting any harm on another citizen will get a fine or jail-time.
- A cop caught on camera bashing someone's skull open with the sidewalk for daring to ask 'on what grounds?', will get away with absolutely nothing unless the footage goes viral and will only be requested to 'instead become a cop, somewhere a 10 minute drive away'
- A politician who signs off on poisoning an entire town, will only have to 'publicly resign' and pick a different department to take up the same position.

"Leave my town, or you will be arrested." If arrested, then one cannot leave town!
That guy doesn't deserve retirement
HE KNEW HE WAS BEING RECORDED TOO. That's the worst bit of it to me. He knew Hines had a gopro turned on and recording but he *still* told him to leave town under threat of arrest. That whole department should be investigated if the chief is that bad.
He would have executed Travis if he wasn't being filmed. That scumbag was out for blood.
I doubt he knew what it was.
Actually, to play Devil's Advocate, it's possible the chief felt he was well within the boundaries of the town's ordinances. HOWEVER, those ordinances were realized to be unconstitutional, and were taken off the books poste haste by the town council.
I agree with OP. If he's posing with the 'Blue Line' flag as if it's an award, my sense is that there's corruption aplenty. Anyone flaunting a flag that's not the USA colors while working for the USA is suspect. Would you trust a police department that flew the Hammer&Sickle in red, white, and blue or the Proud Boy's flag? Hell no.
@Douglas Leathem Any decent human being would never treat another person like that, regardless of what the law says, ergo, the chief is not a decent human being and should not be in that position. Further, all police take an oath to defend the Constitution, which he clearly violated, meaning that he either willingly violates peoples' rights, despite his oath, or is too stupid to understand its meaning. Either proves that he was further unfit for the job. Putting him in that position was the doing of the city council, so they all hold equal blame despite their later backpeddaling. They were put in place by the horrible citizens of the town who, clearly, endorse and desire this behavior. All of this information paints the town as a horrible place populated by terrible, evil people, and it should be avoided at all costs.
It is sad that our society has to endure such tyrants and they have been in power for centuries!

Whenever something like this is uncovered there should be a mandatory review of the law enforcement officers arrests.
I can’t believe that in that country exist a law against “loitering”. It’s so vague and subjective, a law like that wouldn’t pass in much of the world.
There are laws like that around the world, criminalization of unemployment is something that started in conjunction of enclosures in the XIII century. It's one of the steps that were used to move society away from feudalism and into capitalism.
@@federicosbetta1368 In my country, once the law has been found unconstitutional, it needs to be removed from everywhere.
@@pablovi77 I was giving you context about when and why this laws started, in countries with a civil law system happens what you say, but the usa is a common law system. Laws in different jurisdictions have to be challenged individually to check if they are over the limit of the subjective parameter stated in the higher court opinion, in this case if the law is vague enought to be unconstitutional.
You design a system of laws vague enough that you can find someone guilty of *something* at any given moment, allowing you to exercise control over people whenever you want, regardless of good reason.
A lot of it is based on racism

@@Dowlphin While that's true, it doesn't make @feralpundit's point any less valid. The people at the top often don't 'start' the corruption, but they have the most power, and therefore the duty to stop it. Individuals should also take blame, just not as much as the leaders.
@@RtaincCo They have the least power to stop it, so duty is an arguably unfitting concept here. They invested specifically in not being the solution and have built the most powerful support structure for not changing their ways. We got a drink and waited about 10 minutes for the truck to arrive. They were about 5 minutes out when a cop showed up and started questioning why we were there. I told him I didn't appreciate his behavior, nor his comments. He told me to leave town. 😂 I laughed and said, you should take your own advice. Have a good night.
