I always thought about doing that. So dry them first? They don't shrivel up? On a scale of 1 to 10 how good you think they are compared to trout magnets?

Now just add a couple pads of butter salt & pepper, fill with corn or cooked mushrooms. Then wrap in aluminum foil & cook over an open fire or on the grill. ;]
I've only caught a rainbow trout several times lol. Twice using Power Bait and the rest was from a worm. They are pretty yummy fish, season and fry nicely. I personally like the flavor of sunfish more lol 😆
Nightcrawlers/worms are pretty much a guaranteed way of catching trout. Also, trout will find the place in the water that has the temperature they prefer, and that location varies by time of day, and season of the year (water temps vary).
You can tell how far we’ve fallen but what people find gross or disgusting with food. Oh you found a bone? You don’t say? It’s not like eating other animals whole is found anywhere else on earth.
As a Oregon fisherman just saying if i were a ODFW OCIFER. Id be looking at you being it's illegal to gut a trout and clean it anywhere near a river lake or stream. Per regulation.
In Germany it's illegal catch trout when they are spawning. In general, I would advise you to try and check if they have eggs and if yes, then release it. That is so long as they aren't a ecological problem as in being invasive to other species of trout etc.
It is totally possible it's best to do when the eggs are more mature and no longer stuck on the membrane and mixing with the male trouts milk and cold river water in a bucket, the eggs would need to be placed in a system that keeps them agitated slightly ( tumbles the eggs slowly and gently until they hatch
not for me in California, the meat was the color of salmon on a 3 pounder i caught. and it was only 5 days after they released the trout@@damianyounger132
I just caught a rainbow trout yesterday, i was cleaning it and noticed some apparently worms on the side, Im not sure if that’s parasites or something bad. Is it safe to consume?
Hope you kept the fish roe for bait? Throw that out on a line and you will catch something big every time. Slide it in a old pair of panty hoes clip the end tie it off and put it on a hook.
The first fish I ever caught, I was 6, was a rainbow trout and to this day it’s one of the most delicious fish meat I’ve tasted.
Bro no way same
Same 😂
🎉
Trout is okay but I fish all the time and for me it’s walleye
Bro I caught a flounder first time
Cleanest gutting I’ve ever seen my whole entire life
river trout are great because you can pull this off (pun intended) almost every time
When he said " om gash those eggs" i felt that.
Check if it had eggs first by lightly squeezing its belly and if it does release it
Yeah that is something I was taught to do too.
Is there a trout shortage where you are? Cause around me no one would waste roe like that

Pro tip :when you remove the head and other origins you can use it as a bait to catch more fish that eat the trout thank me later

Use those eggs as bait. Cut them in small sections ,et them dry a little and put them on a hook. Immediate reaction for me.

works with any fish, I did this when I was a kid gutting perch.
Nice video ❤ great job cleaning that beautiful fish 🐠 Im sure it was great eating. How did you cook it?
Beautiful Spyderco
To this day, I have not caught a trout with eggs. 🤗
Oh thats seems alot easier thab i thought
Those eggs will make awesome bait
Can confirm, this method works phenominally
Can catch those all day on the Little Red.

do you ditch the roe tho? i hear those are quite good

Always deep-fried the eggs, season/ flour/egg yoke/flour then fried

Likely so, probably a few stringed up

Fun fact: every fish egg "caviar" taste same as "expensive caviar"

Is it possible to get the eggs to a safe place and hatch that would be cool to eat and still re stock native rainbows
That's not a native trout. It's been adipose clipped meaning its a hatchery origin trout.
Well they’d have to be fertilized by the male, right?
@@cammer68oliver2 I think idk much about it
Those roe got me hungry. Lightly season them with some salt and you can eat them raw like caviar ❤

I caught a stocked rainbow trout that was swimming at the surface like it was dying. It tasted like mush.
why would you eat that bro XD
@@blezys7869 Eh. No fish goes to waste
When there white meat and mushy it's the pellet food there fed. Longer there in the wild meat will be more pink from eating bugs and snails.

It probably was dying and had been ill for a bit. I wouldn't eat a sick fish, farmed or native. Unless you are lost and starving.
That would be illegal in Pennsylvania unless you are going to consume it on the spot...head and tail gotta be intact till consumed
Caviar 🤤
Trout roe technically. But more cost effective than caviar and still delicious.

Do you eat the eggs?
What do you do with the roe? Is that safe to eat or is it just more bait?
Don’t eat the roe.. it will make you sicker than a dog
You can eat trout roe once removing it from the membrane and rinsing it. It is safe.
Have to ask, can the eggs be eaten? If so are they any good? Like could i put them on my sushi or somthing? Maybe make a roe soup?

Keep the eggs for bait
