Joe Cocker does an amazing rendition of this masterpiece of a song. But the band excellent and is spot on with so much nuance and feeling. Shows you don't have to shred the guitar or smash the drum kit to make wonderful music. Loved this version.
This is one of those songs where it's hard to top the original, because it's not about text book singing or guteral power, it's about turning a phrase with soft soulful expression. That said, Joe could sing anything & I'd love it.
I'm so glad that I seen Joe Cocker at the Steve Miller concert in Vancouver BC, back in 2000 I took an older friend of mine to go see him live, Joe did the opening for Steve Miller Band, just a phenomenal show that it was. Honestly I like Joe Cockers version better than Van the man, who wrote it. Don't get me wrong, cause Van Morrisons song Brown eyed girl is still my all time favorite song!!! RIP Joe Cocker, you are a true artist that stands out because of the powerfull good energy & emotions you put into each song. You give millions of your true fans the goose bumps, that's how good you are!!!😎😎😎😎👍👍👏👏👏🤸🤸🤸🤸😜🇨🇦
Joe loved Hawaii and I lived there. Went to every concert including the civic center where he was relegated to after being banned from the HIC. I must’ve seen him 20 times.
@@LeilaniG808 wow 20 + times that's almost like stocking him,ha,ha,ha,😝😜😜🤣🤣🤭🤭🤭😁😎 lucky you!!! Joe Cocker owned a vacation home in North Vancouver, he actually would hang out and party with Doug Bennett, from The Band: Doug And The Slugs: He'd party over at Doug's house over in East Vancouver up by Lakewood drive just near Victoria Dr.😇😜😲😲🎉🤸🤸🤸
We were fortunate to see this great artist three times, the last song at the last concert, ("You are so beautiful ") he just missed, just, the final high note, then he apologised. Probably the finest voice in rock and blues. A privilege to see and hear.
When your body feels it, really, really feels it, your vocal perfection is never needed. With that said, Joe does this song so much justice. One of my all time go to songs to chill to. Bravo Sir, Bravo.
Most Beautiful makes me think of a Florida nite on the beach with a couple of tropical liquor drinks just me and my gypsy soul 🦋 I love his song when the NITE comes to EPIC 🦋
Van is talking about walking along the Mystic River in Cambridge,Massachusetts. He knew what he was trying to express. Joe could sing the phonebook and I would listen. Tough to beat the singer/songwriter.

Too bad he and Van the Man never performed together. Not that I know of anyway. Throw Eric Burdon into the mix and you would've had a performance to die for.
This is for my sigma male top. I wrote it to Joe Cocker's, Into the Mystic (from Organic) for my background music. You know, my little big dude, it's a raspy, bluesy love song about me and you - I just say cause I don't think you can hear it. And oh, I cry for you my sigma male and I need you into my life and I need your height. And oh, we will mesh, I'm sure. I make out Kenny Aranoff and Keltner on drums. Billy Preston on Hammond. The guitarist looks John Renbourn but I'm not sure...and the bass player I don't know.
Joe's complete soul and emotion is into singing this song, I had to listen to it several times until I come to the conclusion that it is better than the original because It gets you emotionally involved much deeper than Van does.
Maaaaaan, that cat could sing and always had a world class band. Rip Joe 🫡
Joe Cocker can’t sing badly. He’s just an immortal. No pretense. Just golden soul.
Ah Joe, you were one of the never to be forgotten musicians that were the soundtrack of my life in the sixties and seventies- and still are !
Oh damn Mr. Cocker, you are sorely missed. Fine rendition.
Superb!

what a soul this man had.
This is the only song I want played at my funeral...not for a while hopefully, but its what I want as I go... into the mystic. Miss you so, Joe.

What a wonderful find on this winter day! I had no idea he recorded this. Heartbreakingly beautiful. RIP Mr. Cocker. You were a true artist.

Try Jay Fleming's version.
Nobody can be compared to Van Morrison.

Van and Joe are like apples and oranges. Both wonderful. I love both versions of this song for different reasons.

A great song will sing itself but Joe lends a welcome helping hand.
@Donut Emptycircle - I also like how the entire crew; were also professional enough to make it their own!
