Great review.
What is the fitting beside the CD storage unit in the boot?
Only had our 2007 a few days and your thorough review enlightened me as how to configure the air to the floor, windscreen& vent
Thanks
After a year, how has your experience been? Have you spent much on repairs or maintenance?

Hi
Bought privately subject to a price negotiation based on an thorough independant report by our city MB Dealers, like I would do at a Toyota dealer if I bought a preloved 200 series Land Cruiser (darn they are great vehicles, particularly in outback Australia)
Had all the items listed on the MB dealers report attended to, and the buy price came down a little,
but I suspect the previous owner thought I was a bit over the top with my passion for SL's and the enginnering needing to be right
Admittedly it was the six one I looked at and the third one that my MB dealership had inspected for me. That process saved me big outlays.
The one I bought was the only one that passed well for a 12 year old SL
As such my SL has easily met my expectations, but I havent met its, in that it has barely travelled 3,000klm per year since getting the keys. I have found a few minor items, that are on now on my fixup list.
Those items were present when I bought it.
You know when you handwash, polish and do an interior clan on a car you get to know its presence etc better.
The slightly sun effected leather (a blindman would ahppy to see it) has lifted abck to almost new.
Enjoying the driving experiance, when i can get out and up into the hills (think coffee runs).
In this hot Brisbane climate, I find I am opening all the window and leaving the roof and the airflow reminds me of a 560SEC journey.
Think of air flowing around you, and the absence of the extreme sun beating down on your head,
particualrly when you stoip at traffic lights.
Enjoying the extra cabin space in the R230 over the R129 as I am a tall bloke, although I prefer the older cabin design of the R129 (that i had for 16 years)
Expect some of the R230 computer components (SAM's) to give me grief sometime in the future, but so far I have been lucky
So far it has never failed to proceed.
So unexpected dollars spent is really zero so far and long may that continue
Thanks for your interest.
You talk way too damn fast! Let the car sell itself. I mean, it's a Mercedes after all.
is there aux access?
Kevin Amoura yes
What is the price?
A good R230 Generation car with bug eyed headlights, low miles, and the 5.5 liter is about 25k.
Price?
It's a secret....I guess they think mentioning $20k or whatever, will shoo away buyers, even tho they'll eventually need to know.

Trying entirely too HARD to sound professional. Just relax be yourself, stop giving so many unnecessary details. "Nice padded and stitched armrest" ....................
Lee whittier He recorded the entire video in less than 7 minutes.. Unless you want to sit there watching this for 12 minutes, you better thank him for being professional going through every detail possible so quickly and getting straight to the point.
