This song was a childhood favorite of mine. I first heard it on a PlayStation 2 game called ATV off-road fury 2! This still remains one of my absolute favorite songs of all time! Thank you for making my gaming experience, and now my adult experience freakin awesome 💜

I always pictured this song as "Special 2.0". This would have been a smashing single, and STILL would to this day. This entire album was and still is WAYYYY ahead of its time.

First heard this song in ATV Offroad Fury (2 or 4, I don't recall). Later it turned into a staple of snowboarding playlists. Absolutely surreal when that ethereal chorus hits right as the Earth drops away beneath your feet. Now that I'm old and broken, just enjoying this one sitting down is fine :D

This takes me right back to late 2001 and I can remember exactly where I was when I heard this song for the first time.
I had just turned 15 and was going through a really rough time in my life.
I absolutely loved this album at the time and still do to this day.
Damn I love this song! It reminds me of when I lived in Somerville, MA, and drove a lowered suspension,.tinted glasses Plymouth Breeze, and the police would follow me all the time. Ohhh...being 20 something...

In 2002, at Avalon, Boston, I handed Shirley a copy of my band’s CD. She said that Interscope didn’t allow you guys to listen to music given to you, and then dedicated this song to me. During soundcheck at Avalon in 2005, you guys played this per my request. This song means the world to me 🤟🏻🎸☮️

Heard this song on a game at my grandparents house. The game had ATVs on it, and I loved the song. But I couldn’t remember what the game was called. I looked for it for years! I remembered the song was called parade, but couldn’t remember who made it. I remembered “doctor were dying there’s no use in crying”. I googled the lyrics and never found anything. Then earlier today I gave it another try. And here I am. This song is a banger! It’s so euphoric and I definitely am going to check out some more of garbage’s music

What kind of music is this called?
I don't know if there is a good answer to that. Butch Vig, their drummer produced Siamese Dream for the Smashing Pumpkins and Nevermind for Nirvana, and has been called the godfather of Grunge, but Garbage, outside of maybe their self-entitled album isn't really what you'd call grunge, or post-grunge. Version 2.0 was labeled as electronica, but that really doesn't fit either.
If you're looking for more music like Garbage, you won't find a whole lot, but maybe, just maybe you'd like bands like Nightwish, Within Temptation, and Epica?
Try listening to Nemo by Nightwish, Iron by Within Temptation, and Never Enough by Epica and see if that points you in the right direction. All 3 bands give off a lot of the same vibes at least at times, as Garbage.
Does anyone have the not-remastered version? This one is too compressed- you can literally hear it slam down and I hate that it’s ruined my fave G song
