  • In this video I describe the underutilized and tactical, loaded magazine instant unloading technique. This feature works for the Mossberg 930 and 935 series gas operated, semi automatic shotguns. I wanted to document this technique for any Mossberg owners who like to learn new things about their shotguns.

      Matthew Fogarty I believe this is a 1-2 shell longer tube from Nordic. But they come with extended tubes. Actually now that I think about it, this is my 22” version so it has the tube from my 24” and my 24” has a longer tube. These are a great deal now. When I bought them they were about 8-900. Now you can get them for around 550 I believe. Look on armslist. Also they just announced a newer model but that one is not worth the hype IMO

    The Mossberg Jam My Gun Button. Accidently push that button in a tactical situation and you're fucked. It will dump shells into your chamber jamming it up, and it's not easy to un-jam. It is easy to mess up and press that button in a high stress situation, or for a bad guy to press it grabbing for your gun. It's a stupid feature to have on a tactical shotgun.

      I just bought a 930 yesterday and that’s already my big complaint, it’s not too bad to unfuck, you gotta reach in with your index, push the shell that’s halfway out into the tube, then pull your finger out fast, the bolt will go forward and load the other shell, and garand thumb if you’re slow. Would MUCH prefer if it just didn’t have that function

    What this video doesn’t show is the major drawback to this feature. It’s very easy to cause the gun to jam with it. To see this, close the bolt. Load 2 or more rounds into the magazine. With the bolt closed the bolt release button is not locked, press it again without lifting on the lifter. This will eject 2 rounds into the ready chamber and they will be under spring pressure. The lifter will not be able to lift them and the gun is jammed. With 8 rounds in the mag the spring pressure jamming the 2 rounds is high enough to make unjamming it difficult. So if you hit the bolt release 2 times the gun jams.

    Hi there! I was hoping you might consider making a short video showing the fastest way to get back up and running with my 930 if the bolt release button is accidentally hit while it is fully loaded with one in the chamber. How to deal with the 2 rounds that are trying to come in the well because of the accidental hitting of the bolt release. Thank you for your time and consideration. Be well.

    • @tyler79durdan
      @tyler79durdan  Před 4 lety

      Fritz Nott the fastest way which isn’t necessarily the easiest is to carefully push the second round back into the mag until it locks in place. I can do it in under a minute... it’s been a while but I think I use a car key to separate the two then my finger to push it back in.

    • @fritz7943
      @fritz7943 Před 4 lety

      @@tyler79durdan Thank you for your reply. That is exactly what I had to do. I was just hoping there was something I was overlooking that was faster. It is kinda a bummer to have a temporarily out of commission button on a tactical shotgun! it would be nice if it was disconnected from that function while in battery! Thanks again.

    Why did you not demo that "jam my shotgun" button? Doo what you did with the bolt forward and guess what happens? The rounds in the tube are released and you have a jammed gun that must be manually fixed! That is a stupid feature. You jam the shotgun as you are protecting your family because you bumped the release by accident as the bolt was forward.
    Most reviews ALL left out that feature. I just bought one after researching and no where did I read about the bolt release causing a major malfunction that could get you killed. Shame on you, OR, did you not know about it?
