On the riser bolt, many of these are interchangeable on other bikes. On our 08 Roadking there were fog lights installed and on that bolt is where they were grounded. Found the same thing on an 03 fatboy
Even with a ground it don't explain why it was so much longer. Almost like they just threw it together with whatever was laying around. Who knows. Thanks for watching and stay safe.
Hey guys! Just found this video and need some info. I have a 2019 Fat Boy 114 and am changing the bars. The new ones I am getting are from Harley and I DO NOT need new lines. I have heated grips and the dealer wants to charge me $615 for the install!!! Im very handy and do lots of work on my bikes, but does this sound crazy? I have never done this before, but for $615, Im willing to try. How long would this actually take me if I dont need to change lines? All I supposedly have to do is feed the heated grip wires through and button it up. Thank you in advance!!!
If your going taller you will need cables as the stock cables are very short. Heated grip wiring runs down through the neck on the left side under fuel tank
@@RoadGlideAndy Thank you so much for the fast reply!!! The new bars I am getting are literally like 2 inches taller and the dealer told me I wont need cables. Does it really take 5 or 6 hours to do this job???
Depends on what kind of bars and the quality. We ended up having to ream and debur the inside of the bars. If you can get your hands on a de pining tool and take the larger plugs apart much easier.
Well that is your opinion. Was not my bike so the owner made the decision on what to take apart. Last I would rather take extra time to remove things that will make it easier and lower the chance of damaging components. Thanks for watching have a nice day.
Very detailed breakdown. I can't wait to see how the new bars look in the next video? Ride Safe
It takes a turn stay tuned.
Greetings from South Australia. Hope it goes well. Looks like fun. Happy new year 😎
Happy new year!
Cool, thanks for showing us how to do this.
Thanks for watching 👀
@@RoadGlideAndy no worries, gonna catch up and watch parts 2 and 3
How did you get to be so smart, Andy? 😁
I wouldn't say I'm smart, you may change your mind about that thought as there are two more parts to this.
@@RoadGlideAndy well, I'm still guessing you did eventually figure it out!!
@@PurpleOnThree stay tuned
@@RoadGlideAndy ok! 🤗

@@RoadGlideAndy looking forward to it
@@602North part 2 will come out tonight
Did you find out why the one riser bolt was longer than the other?
Only thing I can think is they just used whatever they had laying around.
@@RoadGlideAndy oh my...

They are Harley bars. How many hours do you think it would take to do this job?
