  • A quick and simple demonstration on immediate chair side temporization technique with explanation. This procedure can be followed for routine dental crown and bridge cases.
    Video first demonstrates making of putty index which serves as a receptacle for the temporization material. The material used for creating the putty index is Zhermacks Zetaplus Condensation Silicone.
    The next step involves making the temporary crown using the temporization material by Denstsply Integrity.
    Why is a temporary crown necessary??
    It is preferable to place a temporary crown after tooth preparation to maintain the soft and hard tissue integrity of teeth till we receive the final prosthesis.
    Other benefits of temporary crown include :
    1) Patient comfort
    2) Pulp protection especially in case of vital teeth
    3) Maintain gingival and periodontal health
    4) Maintain inter arch and intra arch stability and prevent tooth migration
    5) Immediate replacement in anterior crown and bridge cases resulting in better esthetic outcome for the patient

      Make a mock-up with wax in mouth of pt or with composite without bonding (so you can tick it out after the putty impression) , then do steps as following.

    Doctor what if the crown is severely damaged, that we cannot make a copy of the tooth with silicone index in that case we should send to the lab? Thank you for your answer

    I could never make these to fit nicely on the margin, it was either overhang or gap between the crown and prep margin

      The index has to be closely adapted to the tooth...if the index is well made, then it shouldn't be a problem... :)

    Do I always need a previous mock up? Doesn't it?

    Thank you for this video. I would like to ask do we make the putty index on the cast or directly on patient before preparation. In clinical scenario we don't have time to take impression and make cast. Can we make putty index directly in patients mouth before preparation??

    • @martinchrom4444
      @martinchrom4444 Před 2 lety

      That is a commonly used technique

    • @Theunderrateddentist
      @Theunderrateddentist  Před 2 lety +3

      You can make it from the cast also...or directly on the patient before prep....but if you are creating the index intraorally, make sure the tooth is not fractured, carious or broken down...if that's the case, then a good composite build up has to be done before the index...remember, the temporary crown takes the shape from the index...
      Hope it helps :)

    Hi. Can we also use this technique for a bridge?

    • @Theunderrateddentist
      @Theunderrateddentist  Před rokem +2

      Yes, similar technique...but a bride will require a wax mock up on a cast...and the index has to be made on the cast

    If i already have prepared tooth how i can make rubber impression ? And make tem.. crown

    • @Theunderrateddentist
      @Theunderrateddentist  Před rokem

      With this technique, either you make the index before the prep if your tooth is in a good condition/after you build it up with composite or you can make the index on the cast after a wax mock up...and use that index on the tooth after preparation.
