Hi Joanna, how's that super small anubias after 2 years? I recently bought "anubias bonsai" that is small like that. So, I would like to know if it grows any bigger as the plant mature or if it stays as small. Thanks!
Thank you a bunch, been struggling with my plants in my tank and this helps a lot
"No, not me!"
LOL
Never expected to hear that.
I almost spat out my sip of coffee!!!
Hahahaaaa!!! 😂😂😂 I mean..um...🤭
This was very informative. It's hard to find aquatic plant tutorials. The plant voice-overs were soo cute! I just recently obtained my Beginner Horticulturalist Certificate from my local fish club. I've recently "aquascaped" some 10, 15 and 20 longs, each one just for a betta along with some nano fish...so much fun! Keep up the great work! 👍
Thank you Jaime! It’s a fun hobby for sure! ☺️
I love the anubias voiceover so cute!
🤦🏻♀️😆
Same!!!! 💜💜💜
We love it when our plants talk with us! 😂🍀
Don’t we though! (I do not agree with Jason’s idea of my micro’s voice though)
@@thesmallscape "giggle"
@@thesmallscape Forget Jason keep up your creativity, it's what makes people special and unique. 💪✌
Very nice. Love the voice work and Hunger Games nod. 🤣
Hi Wendi ! That’s called late night editing by Jason! 🤦🏻♀️😆
I used to work at a commercial Greenhouse many years ago. It was hydroponic. Propagation of aquatic plants is very similar to tropical greenhouse plants. Thanks for the lesson on this one in particular!
I love the little anubias voice! Haha so cute!
Thank you. I was a little afraid to chop up my beautiful anubius. She was getting long, so I took one end off and replanted, and a while later she was getting long again, so I took off more from that same end and replanted it. You've given me the confidence to make lots of divisions!
Great information. This will save money when starting new tanks. Love the hilarious voice overs! Thanks for your wonderful channel
Aww- thanks, Angie!! Love money savers. ☺️☺️☺️
I'd be interested to see what the pieces look like in a couple of months from now...
I doubt it will grow much in a couple of months. Anubius is slow growing
love the sound effects, and the information! And that truly is the smallest anubias I have seen! Jealous!
Lol - right?! micro teensie tiny!!
Same😁💚🌿
I learned AND laughed a lot with this video!
That’s great to hear 😊🤦🏻♀️😆 LoL!
Super-helpful, thank you!
thanks.
really helpful for newbies
Lol love the Humor. Great video. Thanks for teaching me.
thanks for the info and close up shots. that helps a lot.
I watched this a yr ago and then last night for refresher. Your little anubias voice still had me cracking up!😂
Haha! I’m so glad to hear it ☺️🌿
Wow Nice Video thank you from the bottom of my heart from the Philippines ☺️♥️
Thank you so much. This was very helpful. I learned a lot!
I’m so happy - thank you John!!
Very thorough instructions. I really appreciate the details you give and the simple way you explain things. I'm off to start propagating my anubias.
Thank you, Daniel! That makes my day! Good luck creating an army!!
Great video thank you 💯👍👍
Awesome!!
Lol love it 😀
Thanks for the water garden lesson, very helpful. I love watching your channel, SO MUCH FUN!
Thank you, Rachelle. ☺️☺️
Awesome video again. Splendid methods.
i just planted this in my nano tank and it's so cuteeee!!!!!
This was the exact video I was hoping to find. I just bought my first! I'm already a little experienced in propagating "land plants," so I'm glad to know I can do the same with this little guy!
i actually didnt know the notch technique so thx for that and for te funny light hearted tone of the video also Jason did a nice voice acting :D
It’s a fun trick with the rhizome! I never know what Jason has up his sleeve. 😆
You are one of my favorite people to learn from with aquarium plants!
That’s so nice of you to say! Thank you 😊
Beautiful ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Perfect timing for me! I have several year old petite that are getting quite long! Thank you
Oh yay!!! Thanks for letting me know ☺️
Ha ha! love the video thanks for the info very informative keep the videos coming!
Aww, thank you so much! ☺️
I’m new to the plant life and this was super helpful. The voiceover was the reason behind my instant subscription lol.
love your videos , very helpful, keep up the videos
Thanks Dave! I appreciate it ☺️☺️
That vid was adorable. I knew a couple of the ways to propagate the anubius, but cutting ends to cause new growth and the cutting nitches was news to me. Thanks for the new ways! How'd you get such a tiny anubius? It was so cute!
Oh yay - glad to hear it! I found it when it was even smaller!! I thought it was a single duckweed originally🤩 I tend to divide off tiny shoots and they just get smaller and smaller. 😂
I came across this video while drinking my early morning coffee. OMGoodness, what a great way to start my day. These voiceovers 😂😂😂
But thanks for showing how to do this. Just purchased some wood and stone for my tank at the C.A.F.E (Columbus Area Fish Enthusiast) swap show. Ready to add some plants like you use!
Great info!! Thank you, seriously!
Oh haha, Betsey! How fun, glad you enjoyed and I’m hoping the tips serve you well! That swap sounds like a whole lot of fun! 🌱☺️🌿
You and your friends put on a great video! I subscribed!
Lol! Thanks so much!! 😃😃😃
Loved the plant talking voice over 😂
This vid is cute and very informative, Thanks you so much!!
Thank you! And love your name ! 🙌👌
Love the sound effects and thanks for the how-to. Off to chop my big guy into 'triplets'.
Thank Youuuuuu👍⚘
Short and to the point. Excellent propagation video.
☺️ Thought it would turn out shorter but...
@@thesmallscape I thought it was good and a lot of thought went into it.
Wow too funny and so interesting ! Maybe you can have an interview with one. Could you do updates on those notch cuts ??
😂😂 YES! An interview with an Anubias. 😂 Lol! And I sure will give updates on those cuts ☺️🌱👌
Brilliant
Subscribed! Really good video and pretty funny too lol. Keep it up!
Thanks so much! ☺️
Omg this thing 100% works even i mistakenly cut the stem with only two leaves they still live now i got plenty of anubias now i wont buy anubias in store thankyou so much for the information i wish i known sooner ♥️♥️♥️
Isn’t it just THE greatest! Just another reason that Anubias 🎸 🔥!!
Learned a few things, thanks, and I literally have a similar case of mini but in Java fern 😄. You’re fun to watch ! Keep up the good work 👍
Thank you, Stephanie! A teensie java fern?! Awww!!!! 🤩
A wonderful topic and video. I will definitely try this in the future.
You are definitely a great botanical surgeon.
Thanks again,
Jim
Ooh - I like that title! 😊
This is my favorite aquatic channel going forward....quite innovative and of course rich!! :-x
Thank you, Ronnie! Such a nice thing to say!! ☺️
One of my favorite plants. I have propagated to five good pieces and plan on splitting them more when I change my aquascape.
This was absolutely one of the best videos I've ever seen as far as a tutorial and entertainment on a subject I truly love! I don't know why I didn't leave a comment!! You are creative genius 🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍❤️🌿🙏
Hi! Omg, glad you liked it. Don’t know what I’d do without Jason’s editing! Lol!!
@@thesmallscape Brilliant ♥️👍🤗
Thank you sweet angel. I learned a lot from this video. Anubias petit Nana are one of my favorite epiphytes
Great info Joanna! I didn’t know about notching the plant 🌱 ...and that voice!! 🤣 ...the nana petite was so cute and amazingly tiny! How fun to see 😊
Oh good, glad I could share it! And the wee tiny Anubias - uhhh - so cutie!! ☺️☺️ Enjoy the rest of your week!
Thank you I had no idea how to separate them!
Thank you.
Beautiful nano corner 😍
Thanks, Dani!☺️
Very helpful thanks for the video, would love to see this with other plants to 👍
Absolutely! ☺️
I absolutely love your sense of humor. Almost spit my coffee. Thanks for sharing so many wonderful videos. ❤️ I already love Prime Time Aquatics but you [by yourself] are so much fun to watch and learn!!!
please more videos, this is amazing
Thank you for watching, Sonia! Yay for plants!🌱😊🌿
that tiny anubias 😍😍😍
Right?! Soooo teensie - one of my favorite “plant pets” lol! ☺️
Loving the Anubias cartoon talking voice 😂😂😂 ❤
lol 😂 good to hear!
There are so many wonderful things I enjoyed about this video.
Anubias is quite a character!
Notching; a technique I've heard of somewhere before, but never seen in practice, thank you!!
I made a terrarium with some aquatic plants/mosses (and a few tiny terrestrials), I thought I had a really tiny Anubias....
That is ADORABLY MINIATURE. 😊💚💚💚
So glad to hear, James! Did you make a terrarium?! It sounds cute, so much fun!! I will be sad when this guy grows up. ☹️😆
I have a big mound of anubious petite that I need to split. This video came just in time. Thanks!!!
Sweet! Especially useful when it starts growing in a ball-like-thing. 😆
Great video....good info...loved it...liked and subscribed👍👍🐟🐠🌿
Yay! Yay!! Yahoo! Sweet!! aaannd Thank you!!! ☺️☺️☺️
this channel better than prime time aquatics
"you don't get that on every channel" you can say that again!
☺️
Thank you...about to propagate my anubias...😉👍
Woohoo!!
Happy Wednesday, you are too funny. Great video. Love from Wisconsin.
Hi! Thanks!! Happy Wednesday!! 😋
Enjoy sharing nice videoand keep safe
Thank you, you as well!
Lol I love you ❤️😘💕 so funny
I like you! Love it! First time seen you Amazing!❤ thank you for the video!
You are fantastic 💚
Awesome. I would like to use live plants but I’m not sure if I’m able enough to keep them alive. I love your videos. Thank you for sharing Joanna.
I think you can do it Bonnie. The great thing is with Anubias, all you need is some water and some light mine do great just floating in a jar in the window sill. I change the water every couple weeks. ☺️
Great video
☺️
Super
One of best video
Thank you Iqbal!
@@thesmallscape you are welcome
🦈🐟🐬
I’m honestly glad I can divide them I have 3 very large Anubias and I wanted to trim them but I wasn’t sure if I could keep them and regrow or if I’d have to throw it out and I’m about to build my anubias army
Thx ❤️
You just raised the bar so high for aquarium videos (Aquatasy-rescape of that 20g yet...) - I’m looking forward to meeting more plants.
That nick to create a root - nice trick!
Great video as always. The anubias voice was funny.
That’s Jason for you. 🤦🏻♀️😆
I love this video! Do you have one for how to grow the cuttings on purely to keep making more plants rather than to use right away? Hope that made sense, I'm new to all this.
Perfect timing! I was thinking about chopping mine in half to see what happens 😂
Yay! Good luck ☺️
@@thesmallscape you've inspired me to turn my one anubius into 10! It's like pothos, I never knew!
I am groot !
Thx for the tips 🏝
🤭🤣🌳🙌
Thanks Joanna! I’ve been wondering what to do with my growing anubias! I’ve just been cutting pieces off the main piece... now I’ll start some serious root trimming! The roots are as tall as the tanks 🤣
Oh great! Yes, those roots can get lonngggg!!
Thanks for this video! A suggestion for your next live stream: switch spots with Jeremy, on my phone when I flip it so it’s fullscreen and have the live chat on, the chat is on top of you as it’s always on the left side. Using an iPhone.
Oh, switch sides with Jason - I’d love to but all the tech stuff that he works is on the left side. 😊
@@thesmallscape sorry JASON!! :)
Omg - no worries!! We really do answer to anything starting with a J 😂😂
Thank you son much for posting this. My Anubias are doing so well in my tank and I want more but don’t want to buy them (aquarium plant prices are ridiculous Post-COVID) so this is very helpful and I can now grow more of my own ❤
thanks
The garden iris has the same sort of rhizome system, which is where it stores its nutrients. And just like Anubis it doesn’t like the rhizome buried. Dampness from any covering like leaf mold will cause the rhizome to rot and do it in.
No kidding? I didn’t know that, I appreciate the comment as I do love gardening too! ☺️
I just got my first Anubias Nano Petit because of you. I already had a big one and loved that so thought I would try the nana petit as you like it so much. I totally get why you do, it’s gorgeous and dinky, I am a convert now 👍🏻👍🏻
Yahoooo!!!! “Gorgeous and dinky” I adore that! 👏👏 I hope you enjoy the little dude ☺️
I also have a nano tank on order now also because of you lol. I love your videos and am learning so much from you so thank you for inspiring me so much ♥️
I think I know who your Anubis voice volunteer was lol
You know the small pieces you can actually attach to spider wood or some twigs or even you can put it into bigger pieces of anubias and no kind of be like the centerpiece
'Hi, I'm Anubias' LOL!! INSPIRED!!!
🤦🏻♀️ Jason is a real goof! 😂
That was cute an caught me off guard lol
🤭
What kind of substrate sand are you using in the tank, where you have a red pleco, that shows in the video?
Hey I’m new to CZcams I glad I found the channel I give tank tips on my 75g native but definitely love the science it takes to manage a ecosystem
you remind me so much of will's mom on stranger things!! Great video and so informative! I acquired some rare Anubias Pinto and Anubias Panda, and they're quite large now, but I've been so scared to make the cuts and make babies from them
Great video and the voice over made me 😂
☺️
I didn’t know that Jason did your editing. This explains the placement of the letter “L” at the 1:08 mark. Hate to say but I did laugh a little LOL. I’m learning to try my luck at Anubias and Buce. They are quite rewarding when you look back at the growth, slow as it may be. And thanks to you guys I’ve started propagating them! Again, thanks for educating me.
Yes! I haven’t learned the editing ropes yet. Lol - we have the same sarcastic humor. When I saw the L - I was like “Nice!😂” Propagating is a blast! I’m going to try buce in the near future again... ☺️☺️
I have a 125 gallon with only Anubias in it with guppies. Life got in the way and I neglected it for a time and got this blackish green furry algae stuck to the leaves. The tank is deep and the plants are very securely attached to the rocks. I want to get that out of my sight but cannot get it off the leaves. My question is if I cut a leaf will it come back? And should I trim leaf at end of stalk ? Or at the rhizome? Thanks for content. I think small is better if done properly.
Omg the anubias voice you did! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😍😍😍😍😍😍
Lol - that would be Mr PrimeTime. 😂
@@thesmallscape When you let him edit... hahaha!
