Those scanners won't read live data from other modules. You ll need one that can access live data in other modules like Thinkdiag2

I have the ELM 327 blue tooth , and using the Car Scanner Pro on my ford edge 2014, mine only connects once it’s running.
can all these be used to like program lights and ect....I put foglights on a truck that didn't come with foglights so they have to be activated but I wanna go the cheapest route, I just don't know if everything is capable of doing that
OBDeleven/Thinkdiag can do some retrofit codings, but it always depends on vehicle. Some newly installed components will require extra hardware, it can be different for every model.
Thanks for this new very helpful video, i have bought veepeak and have Carista and have Car scanner pro. i was wondering if you could help me. i have 2019 hybrid corolla but my car does not show auto lock feature. only auto lock if not unlocked but i want to have it lock if i forget to lock it. this feature is only available in us car model? windows open/close from remote work great, thx for the tip!
Hi I have 22 Corolla (Europe) and have also only autolock if you unlock car and don't open any doors in 30secs, the car will lock automatically. The time can be edited but that is only autolock coding the Corolla has.

OBDeleven can do it for VW/Audi/Skoda/Seat and Thinkdiag2 for other car brands.

is there any android odb2 app to do bidirectional test on Suzuki/Renault? it shall not be free but should work with ODB3 ELM adapter. Thanks nice videos! Or to do DPF reset, Regeneration on the above mentioned vehicles.
Carista can do DPF regen on some vehicles but no idea if it works on suzuki renault. Also there is no bidirectional elm327 app. Cheapest tool to do this eould be thinkdiag or xtool a30
my old 2009 diesel suzuki swift is not available on the list i tried fiat opel other manufactures using same engine but no luck to get the dpf values and pressure values for regen:( I need to buy xtool a30 i hope they can support my old swift

There is TOAD pc software that can be used with OBDLink MX+ and they claim their software can adjust ecu fuel map but they have bad reviews so I am not sure. I want to test it out in future

No, they are only using OBD2 protocol, engine only. That information you want is usually in other units.

How reliable are the fuel consumption/mileage figures obtained from the scanner.
I get about 10 km/l from the scanner but around 6 km/l when dividing the odometer reading by the quantity of fuel purchased.
Indicative of a tweaked petrol pump dispenser or faulty scanner calculations or a bit of both???
Calculating it from gas station receipt and mileage driven is the most accurate so the scanner must be wrong.
@@iamcarhackerif the scanner (which is reading ECU data) is wrong and so wrong, how is the combustion perfect?
It is more likely the petrol pump is cheating.
CarScanner Pro is probably the easiest one to use out of the box and has a ton of PIDs and functionality built into it already. However I'm surprised that you haven't mentioned Torque Pro which indeed isn't that user friendly but being really lightweight and supported by a large list of plugins available, easy integration with other apps (eg. AA Performance Monitor) and ability to setup pretty complex custom PIDs I would argue makes it one of the best apps of its kind
Yes torque is also good but I didnt want to fill the list with very similiar apps.
It won't read older vws like a 2004 Jetta 4 1.8T

Hi I never had china car, but 99% it will work. All cars must have OBD2 system now, so I don't see why it wouldn't.
I tested with ELM Scanner app using my ELM327 dongle but detected only protocol and didn't get ECU ID response but you mentioned in video shows ECU ID response how

The Car Scanner app can read/erase codes from all systems, but can't read live data or do bi-directional tests in all systems.
This app makes my car xmasstree when its connected. Turns off the startstop, the esp etc. and continously beeping. 😂
