He wrote this song as a wedding present to his wife whom he just recently married. In the beginning of the video he holds up his hand with his wedding ring and keeps looking at it. He was (and still is) with her since he was 14 years old. No other love but her.

@Joe Hansen Fam, tons of their songs have been influences for so many artists over the years. It's the same as Kate Bush. They may not get recognized for it, but they've permenately changed the music industry. Their songs are easily some of the best written, performed, and manage to fully express artistic talent that others can't even manage. They ARE one of the best bands ever.

this whole album takes me back to a simpler time & makes me melancholy AF. makes me smile while tears pouring out of my face. Robert Smith is one of the most prolific songwriters of my generation. i can listen to any one of the Cure songs and it it will either remind me of people, places or times in my life that mean so much.

I'm a musician and I get fixated on certain moments in songs. Whether it is a metal, folk, rap, etc..... When his voice slightly cracks when he sings with "with you" is one of those beautifully perfect moments in a song. So real. Can't be replicated today with how most of the music that is made today is so perfect and auto corrected. The imperfections make it art. Not that they are imperfections. Sorry I'm drunk.

it is the idiosyncrasies that make something unique. We used to allow those to exist. Even early on in the existence of autotune they were not hammered out regularly. Not until the public got used to hearing "naw, it's a bit pitchy for me, dawg" and such crap on Idol type competition shows did it really get hammered out of everything and the public really start focusing in on every little warble etc. It's the doom of vocals with feeling, this quest for "perfection."
Some kid at my school kept on talking about Disintegration and The Cure so I went to look at the songs thinking it would be trash and I would prove him wrong, but know this is one of the best songs I have ever heard he was right

The Cure, high school boys, football games, being able to eat whatever I wanted, cruising with my friends, and being 15. Amazing time.
1 year ago, exactly on December 24, my cat died. But he wasn't just a cat, he was like my son, my everything. One part of me died with him. We used to do everything together, sing, sleep, play, cry, even go to the bathroom. The last time I saw him I was on the hospital singing this, 'cause it's true. 1 year and it hurts more than anything, it's true my little Jokin, I will always love you, however far away,however long I stay. One year ago, you made me feel like i was in home, like i was young, fun and whole. I'm always down for that reasen, but I don't talk with anybody about this 'cause it's too painful so, I'm writing on youtube. They know the sound of my footsteps walking up to the door. If its me walking up to the door, they will come to greet me. If it's anyone else, they don't. They follow me everywhere I go, looking around to protect me. I genuinely believe they would die for me. There are videos that went viral of cats protecting their owners. To say something like that to someone who is experiencing the pain of loss, is unjust. If you have such ill intended thoughts, its best to keep them to yourself.
