  • In recent years, there has arisen doubt in some brethren within the church, and a common belief among many who left the church (and are trying to pull others away from the church), about the third Person of the Godhead, the Holy Spirit, actually being a Person, separate and distinct from both the Father and Son.
Pastor Bohr looks at the Biblical record, as well as the writings of Mrs. White, to confirm who or what the Holy Spirit really is.

"But the Lord is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation." Jeremiah 10:10
Who is Jeremiah's Lord? The everlasting King whom at His coming the earth will TREMBLE. That is Christ!
"True God" then refers to BOTH Father & Son. John 17:3. The scriptural term does not exclude Christ!
Ellen White says the same, she uses "Jehovah" to refer to BOTH the Father and the Son. As you see in your quotes, she NEVER says Jehovah is only the Father, as you claim. More often she uses the word Jehovah to refer to the SON, just like the Bible does.
"And God said unto Moses, I Am That I Am: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I Am hath sent me unto you." Ex 3:14 Jehovah is the great I AM.
"Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM." John 8:58
"And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was CHRIST." 1 Corinthians 10:4
Jesus is the I AM, Jehovah, true God, the God of Israel!

Cumbered with humanity, Christ could not be in every place personally; therefore it was altogether for their advantage that He should leave them, go to his father, and send the Holy Spirit to be his successor on earth. The Holy Spirit is Himself divested of the personality
of humanity and independant thereof. He would represent Himself as present in all places by his Holy Spirit, as the omnipresent. (14 MR 23)
    The Holy Spirit is Christ's representative, but divested of the personality of humanity, and independent thereof. Cumbered with humanity, Christ could not be in every place personally. Therefore it was for their interest that He should go to the Father, and send the Spirit to be His successor on earth. No one could then have any advantage because of his location or his personal contact with Christ. By the Spirit the Saviour would be accessible to all. In this sense He would be nearer to them than if He had not ascended on high. {DA 669.2}
Gal 4:6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

Wrong. Jesus is the only God and he is known by many names. Jesus said:
      John 3:
13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
      Psalm 139:
8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
      Jeremiah 23:
23 Am I a God at hand, saith the Lord, and not a God afar off?
24 Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the Lord. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the Lord.

The three in one god idea came from Athanasius whose teacher was Origen who “believed in the doctrine of Purgatory, transubstantiation, transmigration of the soul and reincarnation of the soul. The Scriptures were not literal.” - (See Dr. Ken Matto, Origen's Gnostic Belief System). I trust that no one will claim that just because these things are Catholic that it does not mean they are not false! They are Catholic and they are just as false as the trinity doctrine that came from the same source. The continued response to hide the facts is to claim the Catholic doctrine of the trinity has differences from the Seventh day Adventist doctrine, which is not not true. On some points the Adventist Church does differ from orthodoxy, but regarding the basic premise and pagan part of this doctrine, meaning that the one God is three persons in one and that the Holy Spirit is another literal being, it is exactly the same and they fail to mention this significant fact.

Notice the following few New Testament and Old Testament texts:
    Ephesians 4:4-6
    (4) There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
    (5) One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
    (6) One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
Note carefully that there be no misunderstanding. These three text show very clearly that there is “one” of each… there is one Spirit, one Lord which we know is Jesus Christ, and one God the Father. Already, without going to 1 John 5:7, a text our opponents claim was added to the canon of scripture, we here confirm that there are three, one of each.
    Isaiah 48:16
    (16) Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; from the time that it was, there am I: and now the Lord GOD, and his Spirit, hath sent me.
In this text we have three individuals… the Lord God, the Spirit, and Jesus Christ (sent me). The construction of this sentence shows that each one of these are separate (the Lord God and… sent…). There is no doubt, therefore, that there are three in the heavenly Godhead.

Noticing how well Jesus had answered them, he asked Him, “Which commandment is the most important of all?” Jesus replied, “This is the most important: ‘Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is One" The trinity is an invention of the Catholic church at the council of Nicea in 325 AD. THE SECOND COMMANDMENT, THE TRINITY AND THE OMNIPRESENCE OF GOD
I always wondered what was so significant about the second Commandment that Rome found it necessary to remove it altogether from the Ten Commandments. But it appears that there is a fundamental truth in that Commandment concerning where God's presence is that is intended to protect us from all forms of false worship.
The second Commandment tells us that we should not bow down before any image. This implies that God is not in any image. Which means that God is not everywhere. The Bible tells us that God is in heaven; and heaven is not everywhere. Heaven is above the earth and that is where we should direct our worship to God, where He is. He knows everything that happens everywhere and can go wherever He pleases but His abode is in heaven where Jesus, our High Priest and intercessor, is presenting our cases to Him. - "Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens" (Heb. 8:1).
Furthermore, both the prophets Daniel and John saw God in heaven with the angels gathered around His throne and Jesus being separate and distinct (Dan. 7 and Rev. 4, 5). Daniel said "the Ancient of days did sit" (Dan. 7:9) and "one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days" (Dan. 7:13). John said "one sat on the throne" (Rev. 4:2) who was worshipped as the Creator to whom it was said "Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created" (Rev. 4:11), with Jesus appearing before Him to receive a book and power and authority, as the Lamb who was slain, while the angels sang, "Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever." (Rev. 5:13).
God is not everywhere all at once like a vapour while part of Him or an image sits on the throne representing Him. God Himself sits, of whom man was made in His image after His likeness, "made after the similitude of God" (James 3:9).
Logically, if God is everywhere, He can be worshipped wherever He is. One could then bow down and worship before a stone, a tree, a person or any object, not as worshipping the object but as worshipping God, since God is in it. That would open the door for the worship of false Gods as no one would be able to tell the difference whether you are worshipping the true God or not.
It would not be consistent to forbid worshipping before an object if God is in the object and one is worshipping, not the object, but God who is in the object. This is evident in the experience of the children of Israel in the wilderness. God appeared to them in a cloud and they were not forbidden to bow before Him in the cloud - "And the LORD said unto Moses, Lo, I come unto thee in a thick cloud" (Ex. 19:9), "And all the people saw the cloudy pillar stand at the tabernacle door: and all the people rose up and worshipped, every man in his tent door" (Ex. 33:10). If God is not in a particular place, say in an image, it means that there is at least one place where He is not. He cannot be everywhere and not everywhere at the same time.
The idea that the Holy Spirit is God present everywhere was precisely the argument that Dr. John Harvey Kellogg put forward to justify his pantheistic teachings. And Ellen White told him that he was wrong. Initially, he said that God was in everything. And when God instructed Ellen White to oppose it, he modified it by saying that at the time of his first presentation of the matter in the book "The Living Temple" he did not believe in the Trinity. Because of that, he said he had not given a clear explanation of the matter. He went on to explain that he had now come to believe in the Trinity and could better explain his idea. The new explanation was that it was not God the Father, but God the Holy Ghost who was everywhere and in everything. Ellen White told him that he was wrong. And we can see why. If God the Holy Spirit is everywhere and can be worshipped, it is a doorway to replace worshipping God and Christ in heaven entirely.
Another modified version of Kellogg's idea is that the Holy Spirit is really Christ himself or both God and Christ in an omnipresent form. This is also not correct as it places God and Christ on earth rather than in heaven.
The pioneers of Seventh-day Adventism stated in their Fundamental Principles of faith published in the 1889 Yearbook that God was everywhere present by His representative, the Holy Spirit. At face value, this would suggest that this representative is omnipresent. But it is perhaps more consistent with scripture to say that He is everywhere present by His representatives the holy spirits. Holy spirits are ministering spirits sent from heaven - "And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man." (John1:51). "Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?" (Heb. 1:14).
This is consistent with the Hebrew word ruach and the Greek word pneuma that are translated in the Bible as spirit. These words are also translated spirits, thus indicating that the Holy Spirit need not be seen as one individual being who is omnipresent but many spirit beings representing God everywhere.
From this perspective, there is no denying that the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, sent at Pentecost is a person - only not a God-being to be worshipped. Like the Angel of Revelation 18 who comes down from heaven with the latter rain - a similar occurrence as that which took place at Pentecost except more extensive - the Comforter would be seen as a messenger sent by Christ from heaven, as stated repeatedly in John 14-16. Ellen G. White describing the latter rain speaks of a mighty angel from heaven being sent to do this work and further said, "Angels were sent to aid the mighty angel from heaven" (Ellen. G. White, Story of Redemption, p. 399).
It should be noted that Jesus's warning against blaspheming against the Holy Spirit is not implying that the Holy Spirit is more to be revered than Jesus Himself. Jesus went back to heaven and promises to return to this earth to take us to His Father's house in heaven. He left the Holy Spirit to guide us until He returns. If we reject that guidance by blasheming against the the Holy Spirit, there will be nobody to guide us. The situation is similar to what God told the children of Israel in the wilderness - "Behold, I send an Angel before thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee into the place which I have prepared. Beware of him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he will not pardon your transgressions: for my name is in him." (Ex. 23:20, 21). It is simply warning us not to reject the Holy Spirit's guidance. It is not forbidding us seeking to understand who the Holy Spirit is or what the Holy Spirit does.
So, there we have it. The church has now fully accepted Kellogg's idea. Ellen White said that the initial presentation by Kellogg was the alpha of deadly heresies. She said that the omega would follow shortly afterwards and would be accepted. And it did follow shortly afterwards in Kellogg's modified version, based on his acceptance of the Trinity. And the church has now fully accepted it - that God (the Holy Spirit) is everywhere and should be worshipped. So, based on current practice, Jesus is worshipped, the Holy Spirit is worshipped but the One true God is almost entirely ignored. Jesus, praying to His Father, made it clear who the "only true God" is and identified Himself as the one sent by God - "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." (John 17:3).
Nowhere in the Bible is worship given to anyone else except the one seated on the throne who is referred to as "LORD God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come" (Rev.4:8) and to the Christ, the Lamb, as it will be in the new earth - "And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it." (Rev. 21:22). God is the Father of Christ. Accordingly, Christ, the Lamb is seen with "an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads" (Rev. 14:1). It is the name of the Lamb's Father that will be written in their foreheads.
Whatever one's concept of the Godhead, the term "godhead" is used only three times in the Bible (Acts 17:29, Rom. 1:20 and Col. 2:9) and in none of these places is the expression used to replace the idea of God being a single individual who has a Divine Son who is worshipped alongside Himself. And not even once does the term "godhead" in scripture allude to the worship of anyone else.
All worship should be directed to God and Christ in heaven. It is not about where we are when we worship but, like sending a petition to the king of England, we do not send it to Spain or Australia but to him in England where he is. Similarly, Jesus in teaching us how to pray directed that we say, "Our Father which art in heaven".
We should not be praying to nor worshipping anything on earth. We should pray to God in heaven, approaching His throne through Christ, our Mediator, and we should direct our worship to heaven where God is. This is the substance of the second Commandment that Rome has removed.

If the Godhead does not exist then we would have to throw out the baptism of Jesus, and several parts of acts , parts of the gospels, parts of the old testament. It isn't possible for there to not be a Godhead, or alot of the Bible is to be changed, impossible.

    THE BOOK
    #Desire of #Ages
    and
    #Quotes that are often #misappled or #misunderstood
“All things Christ received from God, but He took to give. So in the heavenly courts, in His ministry for all created beings: through the beloved Son, the Father’s life flows out to all; through the Son it returns, in praise and joyous service, a tide of love, to the great Source of all.” - (Desire Of Ages, p. 21) - Christ received everything from His Father including His life. “For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself.” - John 5:26
“The dedication of the first-born had its origin in the earliest times. God had promised to give the First-born of heaven to save the sinner.” - (Desire of Ages, p. 51) - Jesus was the Son of God before He came to Earth. The trinity doctrine teaches all three are one god and that the Father sent Himself to die playing the role of the Son. Modern Adventism also claims that the churches pioneers that formed the faith did not believe in Christ as the Son of God prior to his human birth in Bethlehem. This is very dishonest.
“Satan well knew the position that Christ had held in heaven as the Beloved of the Father. That the Son of God should come to this earth as a man filled him with amazement and with apprehension. He could not fathom the mystery of this great sacrifice.” - (Desire of Ages, p. 115) - Same comment as above.
“While Jesus ministers in the sanctuary above, He is still by His Spirit the minister of the church on earth. He is withdrawn from the eye of sense, but His parting promise is fulfilled, “Lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.” Matt. 28:20. While He delegates His power to inferior ministers, His energizing presence is still with His church.” - (Desire of Ages, p. 166) - It is the Holy Spirit of Christ here on Earth working in us, not another being as per the trinity doctrine which is Satan’s counterfeit for the Godhead.
“The Saviour had spoken through all the prophets. “The Spirit of Christ which was in them” “testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.” - (Desire of Ages, p. 234) - The Holy Spirit in the Old Testament was also the Holy Spirit of Christ and not another literal being as per the trinity doctrine.
“It was Gabriel, the angel next in rank to the Son of God, who came with the divine message to Daniel.” - (Desire of Ages, p. 234) - The Holy Spirit should be the highest being next to the Son of God according to the trinity doctrine, but not that is not accurate. It is Gabriel after the fall of Lucifer.
“When He should come forth from the tomb, their sorrow would be turned to joy. After His ascension He was to be absent in person; but through the Comforter He would still be with them, and they were not to spend their time in mourning.” - (Desire of Ages, p. 278) - Christ by His Holy Spirit is the Comforter, not another being as per the trinity doctrine. Note also: “This refers to the omnipresence of the Spirit of Christ, called the Comforter.” - (E.G. White, 14MR 179.2)
Sin could be resisted and overcome only through the mighty agency of the third person of the Godhead, who would come with no modified energy, but in the fullness of divine power. It is the Spirit that makes effectual, what has been wrought out by the world’s Redeemer. It is by the Spirit that the heart is made pure. Through the Spirit the believer becomes a partaker of the divine nature.
Christ has given His Spirit as a divine power to overcome all hereditary and cultivated tendencies to evil, and to impress His own character upon His church. (Desire of Ages, p. 671) - It is the Spirit of Christ given as a divine power. Almost everyone quotes the first sentence without reading and understanding the whole paragraph.
“In the beginning, the Father and the Son had rested on the Sabbath after their work of Creation.” - (Desire of Ages, p. 769) - The trinity doctrine teaches that the word “us” in Genesis 1:26 is the Father, Son and Holy Spirit as three beings that were involved in creation. But it was only the Father and Son which Scripture reveals as well as the Spirit of Prophecy.
“And when He had said this, He (Christ) breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: … Before the disciples could fulfill their official duties in connection with the church, Christ breathed His Spirit upon them. He was committing to them a most sacred trust, and He desired to impress them with the fact that without the Holy Spirit this work could not be accomplished.” - (Desire of Ages, p. 805) - The Holy Spirit given by Christ to His disciples and at Pentecost was His OWN Spirit. Not another literal being as per the trinity doctrine. John 20:22 quoted.
“Christ gives them the breath of His own spirit, the life of His own life. The Holy Spirit puts forth its highest energies to work in heart and mind.” - (Desire of Ages, p. 827) - The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ, not another being as per the trinity doctrine which was a teaching that begun 348 years after the cross and hence never came from Christ or the disciples.
Note also: “The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ, which is sent to all men to give them sufficiency,”
    - (E.G. White, 14 Manuscript Releases, p. 84)

*Most People do not know the identity of the Holy Spirit today. They are taught it is “another”, or “someone else”. Sister White said it was the Spirit of Christ coming to us.*

“He (Jesus) is coming to us by His Holy Spirit today. Let us recognize Him now; then we shall recognize Him when He comes in the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory.”
    - Ellen G. White, Review & Herald, April 30, 1901, par. 8

“They have one God and one Saviour; and one Spirit-the Spirit of Christ-is to bring unity into their ranks.” - Ellen G. White, Testimonies vol. 9, p. 189.3, 1909

*Keep in mind that these terms “God in Three persons”, “Co-equal, Co-eternal” or “Three Persons in the Godhead” are Sunday keeper language.* Whether it is 3 in 1 or 1 in 3, this mirrors Rome’s belief system now. Please note these quotes from the SDA Church Manual and then from a Catholic Catechism:
“- is one God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, a unity of three co-eternal persons.”
    - 1986 SDA Church Manual, chapter 2, p 23 (Refer also to the book - Seventh-day Adventists Believe 27 Fundamental Beliefs, “The Trinity”)
“In God there are three persons, Father, Son and Holy Ghost, equal in all perfections.” - The Convert’s Catechism of Catholic Doctrine, p. 31 by Peter Geiermann, C.S.S.R., Imprimatur - September 16, 1957
FACT: The words, “God the Son”, “God the Holy Spirit”, “God in three persons” “three persons” “trinity”, “triune”, CANNOT be found in the Bible or Sister White’s writings. Yet this is ignored. Is adding to the word of God acceptable to you?
How about worshiping the same god as Rome?
*Multitudes have a wrong conception of God and His attributes, and are as truly serving a false god as were the worshipers of Baal*. Many even of those who claim to be Christians have allied themselves with influences that are unalterably opposed to God and His truth. Thus they are led to turn away from the divine and to exalt the human.

How many living persons are there in the Heavenly Trio or Godhead?
There are three living persons of the heavenly trio; in the name of these three great powers-the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit-those who receive Christ by living faith are baptized, and these powers will co-operate with the obedient subjects of heaven in their efforts to live the new life in Christ.-Special Testimonies, Series B, No. 7, pp. 62, 63. "After the believing soul has received the ordinance of baptism, he is to bear in mind that he is dedicated to God, to Christ, and to the Holy Spirit. These three all cooperate in the great work of the covenant made by baptism in the sight of the heavenly universe. The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit receive the believing soul into covenant relationship with God." Ms 56, 1900 (6MR 163).
"Here is where the work of the Holy Ghost comes in, after your baptism. You are baptized in the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. You are raised up out of the water to live henceforth in newness of life. You are born unto God, and you stand under the sanction and the power of the three holiest beings in heaven, who are able to keep you from falling…. When I feel oppressed, and hardly know how to relate myself toward the work that God has given me to do, I just call upon the three great worthies and say: You know I cannot do this work in my own strength, You must work in me, and by me, and through me, sanctifying my tongue, sanctifying my spirit, sanctifying my words…" Ms 95, 1906 (7 MR 267).

Is the Holy Spirit the First person of the Godhead or is He the Second person of the Godhead or is He the Third person of the Godhead?
“Sin could be resisted and overcome only through the mighty agency of the third person of the Godhead.” The Desire of Ages, 671.
“Evil ..could only be restrained ..by the mighty power of the Holy Spirit, the third person of the Godhead.” Testimonies to Ministers and Gospel Workers, 392
He [Christ] determined to give His representative, the third person of the Godhead. This gift could not be excelled - My Life Today, p. 36.
Does the Father and the Son each have a personality?
"The Father and the Son each have a personality. Christ declared: "I and My Father are one." (9T pages 67-6
Does the Holy Spirit have a personality just like God [the Father and the Son] have a personality?
“The Holy Spirit has a personality, else he could not bear witness to our spirits and with our spirits that we are the children of God. He must also be a divine person, else he could not search out the secrets which lie hidden in the mind of God. . . .” (Evangelism, 617, is indexed as Manuscript 20, February 7, 1906.)
“We need to realize that the Holy Spirit, who is as much a person as God is a person, is walking through these grounds.-Manuscript 66, 1899. (From a talk to the students at the Avondale School.)” Evangelism, 616.
Is there a PERSONAL God and a PERSONAL Christ? Is the Holy Spirit also part of the Three PERSONAL dignitaries of heaven?
"There is a personal God, the Father; there is a personal Christ, the Son." 6BC 1068.
"When you gave yourself to Christ, you made a pledge in the presence of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit - the three great personal dignitaries of heaven." Ms 92, 1901 (7BC 959).
    Is Christ our everlasting Father?
However much a shepherd may love his sheep, he loves his sons and daughters more. Jesus is not only our shepherd; He is our 'everlasting Father.' And He says, 'I know Mine own, and Mine own know Me, even as the Father knoweth Me, and I know the Father.' John 10:14 , 15 - The Desire of Ages, p. 483.
“Christ, ..‘His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.’ Isaiah 9:6. His goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.’ Micah 5:2.”-Patriarchs and Prophets, 34.
Christ is the “Everlasting Father”, but does the Father and the Son each have a personality?
"The Father and the Son each have a personality. Christ declared: "I and My Father are one." (9T pages 67-6
Is Christ a DISTINCT PERSONALITY [or person from the Father], yet one with the Father? In other words, Christ is not the Father in personality (person)?
“The Lord Jesus Christ, the divine Son of God, existed from eternity, a distinct person, yet one with the Father.”-1 Selected Messages, 247 (Review and Herald, April 5, 1906).
"The Lord Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of the Father, is truly God in infinity, but not [the Father] in personality." UL 367
“[John 3:34-36, quoted] In this Scripture, God [the Father] and Christ are spoken of as two distinct personalities, each acting in their own individuality.”- Notebook Leaflets from Elmshaven Library, Vol. 1, 124.
If we say the Father and the Son are the same person (i.e. they do not have a separate personality), what do we deny? Should we reject such a teaching?
"I entreat every one to be clear and firm regarding the certain truths that we have heard and received and advocated….Reject every phase of error, even though it be covered with a semblance of reality, which denies the personality of God and of Christ." (Review and Herald, August 31, 1905 par. 11)
Is Christ also called the Counselor (comforter) in addition to being called the everlasting Father?
“Christ, ..‘His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.’ Isaiah 9:6. His goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.’ Micah 5:2.”-Patriarchs and Prophets, 34.
Jesus is not only our shepherd; He is our 'everlasting Father.' - The Desire of Ages, p. 483.
“The Saviour is our Comforter. This I have proved Him to be.” 8MR p. 49
“As by faith we look to Jesus, our faith pierces the shadow, and we adore God for His wondrous love in giving Jesus the Comforter.” 19MR 297.3
But is the Holy Spirit the Comforter, just like Christ is called a Comforter, but yet the Holy Spirit is a DISTINCT PERONALITY from Christ?
“The Holy Spirit is the Comforter, in Christ’s name. He [the Holy Spirit] personifies Christ, yet is a distinct personality.” Manuscript Releases, vol. 20, 324
Our opponents say, personality is not the same as person. They say a person may have more than one personality. Therefore, according to them, the Holy Spirit is Christ himself but another personalty of Christ. However, if one carefully notices how Ellen White uses the word person and personality towards the heavenly trio, she makes no distinction. She not only calls the Holy Spirit a personality, but also a person. Surely, the Holy Spirit personifies Christ, yet is a distinct person[ality].
If the Holy Spirit personifies Christ, yet is a distinct personality and if someone says Holy Spirit and Christ are one and the same person, what do we deny? Should we reject such a teaching?
"I entreat every one to be clear and firm regarding the certain truths that we have heard and received and advocated….Reject every phase of error, even though it be covered with a semblance of reality, which denies the personality of God and of Christ." (Review and Herald, August 31, 1905 par. 11)
Note: Christ is the “Everlasting Father” (Isaiah 9:6). But not the Father in person. Christ is also the “Counselor (comforter)”, but not the Holy Spirit in person. Our critics asks us why is the Holy Spirit not mentioned in the above statement if he really is a person. We anwser 1) elsewhere she identifies the personality or person of the Holy Spirit very clearly 2) The title God includes all three (the Father, the Son and the Spirit). To say that the Father and the Son are the same person is to deny the personality of God [the Father] and of Christ. To say that the Holy Spirit and Christ are the same person is to deny the personality of the [Spirit of] God and of Christ.
Is Melchisedec whom Christ spoke through and who represented the Father; is he Christ himself or Father himself or is he just the representative?
"It was Christ that spoke through Melchisedec, the priest of the most high God. Melchisedec was not Christ, but he was the voice of God in the world, the representative of the Father. And all through the generations of the past, Christ has spoken; Christ has led his people, and has been the light of the world." -The Review and Herald, Feb 18, 1890, How to Meet a Controverted Point of Doctrine.
"God has never left Himself without witness on the earth. At one time Melchizedek represented the Lord Jesus Christ in person, to reveal the truth of heaven, and perpetuate the law of God. Melchizedek was not Christ, but he was the voice of God in the world" (The SDA Bible Commentary, 1092-1093).
Melchisedec was not Christ nor was he God the Father. But he was the representative. Now can a representative be the same person that he represents? If he is the same person, why does he have to represent himself?

Correct, there is no Scripture that plainly declares the Holy Spirit is God.
Also, there is no Scripture that plainly declares the Holy Spirit is not God.
We are given a plethora of information what the Holy Spirit DOES for us, but comparatively little information of what the Holy Spirit IS.
The obvious conclusion then is, it is NOT NECESSARY to understand the deep nature of the Holy Spirit.

This is then hypocrisy of the highest order. If we do not have scripture in the Bible that expressly state that the Holy Spirit is God, what power did we have to make him so? Jesus himself who promised us this promise of His Father did not tell us to even worship him. This to me is Satanic influence of pagan Rome. Even this pastor continue talking of hints only. Scholars have agreed that we do not have biblical text but we have just assumed that he is God. That's adding to the meaning of God's word. Besides, pastor Bohr is either pressured or he is not being truthful as he has articulated on this topic before. Watch his videos on Risk of eternal loss and revisiting the Godhead, omnipresence of God. EGW spoke of third person of the Godhead to mean Christ divested of humanity and independent. Christ after his glorification was able to be anywhere by His omnipresent spirit ministered through Angels. So we must be careful not to worship Angels. Read Revelation 22:8, angels know that they are just fellow servants and we are not told to worship them!

@@Nirky I think you might have misrepresented my point. My question is on thee holy spirit verses the term "God". Now you are telling me to worship God but you are not telling me who God is? If God consists of 3 persons who are all equally gods then I just needed clarity as how I should worship this being since the being is a mixture of what we are explicitly told to worship and one we are not commanded to worship. I am a bit confused from Pastor Bohr's videos versus this one. My question remains:
      1. Who is God?

He is the Control Room Commander of the angels, while Jesus is the Captain of the angelic hosts. While Jesus is busy in advocating our right, through Him, to dwell among unfallen beings of Heaven, the Holy Spirit has taken charge of operations, with the angels, of human salvation, carrying out the will of the Three Divine Members of the Rulership of God; (4) the Holy Spirit is the Omnipresent One. And finally, (5) it is beyond our human ability to fully comprehend the perfect nature of the Holy Spirit. He is like the Head of the Special Forces of Heaven. I can bet not all beings outside of the Three Holies, fully understand God the Spirit.

Who Is The Holy Spirit made Simple!
Below is the truth God gave the Adventist pioneers.
“The terms “Holy Ghost”, are a harsh and repulsive translation. It should be “Holy Spirit” (hagion pneuma) in every instance. This Spirit is the Spirit of God, and the Spirit of Christ; the Spirit being the same whether it is spoken of as pertaining to God or Christ. But respecting this Spirit, the Bible uses expressions which cannot be harmonized with the idea that it is a person like the Father and the Son. Rather it is shown to be a divine influence from them both, the medium which represents their presence and by which they have knowledge and power through all the universe, when not personally present.” - (Uriah Smith, RH, Oct 28, 1890)
Thus the Holy Spirit is the presence and power of the very life of God that the Father sends through His Son to us. This is not a separate person of the Godhead who is being sent, it is the very life of God coming to us through His Son.
And so Ellen White wrote the HOLY SPIRIT is the SPIRIT OF CHRIST.
“The HOLY SPIRIT is the SPIRIT of CHRIST, which is sent to all men to give them sufficiency,” - (E.G. White, 14MR 84.3)
“but it is the leaven of the SPIRIT of JESUS CHRIST, which is sent down from heaven, called the HOLY GHOST, and that Spirit affects the heart and the character.” - (E.G. White, Ms36-1891)
    ____________________
Since Ellen White wrote the “Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ,” and the Holy Spirit is the Comforter, then the Comforter must be the Spirit of Christ. Did she write that? Of course! The “another Comforter” is Christ's Spirit, not Him physically!
THE COMFORTER IS THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST:
“This refers to the omnipresence of the SPIRIT OF CHRIST, called the COMFORTER.” - (E.G. White, 14MR 179.2)
“Let them study the seventeenth of John, and learn how to pray and how to live the prayer of CHRIST. HE is THE Comforter. He will abide in their hearts, making their joy full.” - (E.G. White, RH, Jan 27, 1903)
    ____________________
Since Ellen White wrote the “Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ,” and the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth, then the Spirit of truth must be the Spirit of Christ. Did she write that? Of course! Jesus is the Truth, and His Spirit is the Spirit of truth!
THE SPIRIT OF TRUTH IS THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST:
“JESUS comes to you as the SPIRIT of TRUTH; study the mind of the Spirit, consult your Lord, follow His way.” - (E.G. White, 2MR 337.1)
“We cannot be with CHRIST in person, as were His first disciples, but HE has sent HIS HOLY SPIRIT to guide us into all truth, and through this power we too can bear witness for the Saviour. [John 16:13 quoted]” - (E.G. White, Ms30, June 18, 1900)

THE SPIRIT BREATHED ON THE DISCIPLES WAS THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST:
“And when He had said this, He [Christ] breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: ... Before the disciples could fulfill their official duties in connection with the church, CHRIST breathed HIS SPIRIT upon them.” - (E.G. White, DA, p. 805)
“JESUS is waiting to BREATHE upon all his disciples, and give them the inspiration of HIS sanctifying SPIRIT, and transfuse the vital influence from HIMSELF to his people.” - (E.G. White, ST, Oct 3, 1892)
    ____________________
Since Ellen White wrote the “Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ,” then the Holy Spirit sent at Pentecost must have been the Spirit of Christ. Did she say that? Of course!
THE SPIRIT GIVEN AT PENTECOST WAS THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST:
“Outpouring of the Holy Spirit at PENTECOST-Christ ascended on high, to take His position as our Advocate in the heavenly courts. Having reached His throne, HE SENT HIS HOLY SPIRIT, as He had promised, in response to the prayers of His disciples.” - (E.G. White, 10MR 98.1, 1899)
“When the HOLY SPIRIT was poured out upon the early church, 'The whole multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul.' The SPIRIT of CHRIST made them one. This is the fruit of abiding in Christ.” - (E.G. White, GCDB, Feb 6, 1893)
    ____________________
Since Ellen White wrote the “Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ,” then the Holy Spirit He sent must have been the Spirit of Christ. Did she say that? Of course!
THE SPIRIT THAT REPRESENTS CHRIST IS HIS OWN SPIRIT:
“CHRIST came to our world, but the world could not endure His purity. He has gone to His Father, but HE has sent HIS Holy Spirit to REPRESENT HIM in the world till he shall come again.” - (E.G. White, Ms1, Jan 11, 1897)
“CHRIST has left HIS Holy Spirit to be HIS REPRESENTATIVE in the world, to give celestial aid to every hungering, thirsting soul.” - (E.G. White, Lt84, Oct 22, 1895)
    ____________________

THE THIRD GREAT POWER IS THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST:
“CHRIST has given HIS SPIRIT as a divine POWER.” - (E.G. White, RH, Nov 19, 1908)
“They have ONE God and ONE Saviour; and ONE Spirit--the Spirit of Christ--is to bring unity into their ranks.” - (E.G. White, 9T 189.3, 1909)
    ____________________
Since Ellen White wrote the “Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ,” then what she symbolically called the “third person” has to be the Spirit of Christ. Did she say that? Indirectly, of course! She used this phrase because Christ's Spirit can function like a separate person. So it is like a “third person” though not a literal “third person.” This is where many get confused. She wrote sin could be resisted and overcome ONLY through the third person.
THE THIRD PERSON IS THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST:
So who is the third person who is the “ONLY” one who can overcome sin in you?
“There is NO POWER in you apart from CHRIST, but it is your privilege to have Christ abiding in your heart by faith, and HE can OVERCOME SIN in you, when you cooperate with His efforts.” - (E.G. White, OHC, 76.5)
“With HIS SPIRIT CHRIST sends a reconciling influence and a power that TAKES away SIN.” - (E.G. White, RH, May 19, 1904)
    ____________________
Since Ellen White wrote the “Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ,” then the Heavenly Trio must be the Father, Son and Spirit of Christ. Did she say that? Of course!
THE THIRD PERSON IN THE HEAVENLY TRIO IS THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST:
The third is Holy Spirit and since she wrote the “Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ,” then the third is the Spirit of Christ!
And that is exactly what she wrote!
“They have ONE God and ONE Saviour; and ONE Spirit--the Spirit of Christ--is to bring unity into their ranks.” - (E.G. White, 9T 189.3, 1909)
THIRD PERSON = ONE + ONE + ONE = “the Spirit of Christ.”
    ____________________
The answer never changes. There are a few quotes from Ellen White that can be misunderstood on their own, which a Jesuit used to bring the Trinity doctrine into the SDA Church. But letting SOP explain SOP, there is no mistaking she was referring to the SPIRIT OF CHRIST every time.
So since she said the “Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ,” she also said:
The Comforter is the SPIRIT OF CHRIST,
the Spirit of truth is the SPIRIT OF CHRIST,
the third person is the SPIRIT OF CHRIST,
the third great power is the SPIRIT OF CHRIST,
the Holy Spirit given at Pentecost was the SPIRIT OF CHRIST,
the Holy Spirit Jesus breathed on His disciples was HIS own SPIRIT,
the Holy Spirit Christ sent to represent Himself was HIS own SPIRIT,
the Heavenly trio is the Father, Son and SPIRIT OF CHRIST,
and she reveals over and over again that there are only two beings.

Perhaps unintentional error at the 11 minute mark.
“Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel, And his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts: ‘I am the First and I am the Last; Besides Me there is no God.”
    Isaiah 44:6
Rev Stephen Bohr states, “…so there are actually two Lords. There are actually two Yahwehs or two Jehovahs.”
This is a misinterpretation of the language, both Hebrew and the English transliteration. The phrase “and his Redeemer” is not referring to Yahweh’s Redeemer, but Israel’s Redeemer.
The Pulpit Commentary: “And his Redeemer; i.e. Israel's Redeemer - he who had redeemed them from Egyptian bondage - who will redeem them from the power of Babylon - who, best of all, will redeem them from their sins.”
Thus Isaiah 44:6 could be paraphrased as, “Thus says Yahweh, the King of Israel, and Israel’s Redeemer, Yahweh of Armies…”
It is speaking of only one Yahweh. Isaiah 41:14; 49:26; 54:5; 60:16!
There is not one Yahweh who is King (Father) and then beside Him another Yahweh who is Redeemer or Savior (Son).
Isaiah 43:11 “I, even I, am Yahweh, and besides Me there is no savior!”

Interpretations belong to God and we know Job worshipped the Lord in spirit and in truth. Job understood God to be one person and he warned those who think not and for a season Philip thought there were at least two Lords and Jesus fulfilled Job's warning when he rebuked Philip for not knowing Jesus is the Father:
Even a child can rightly divide the word of truth and understand the interpretation of Genesis 1:26 is given in the very next line proving God is a (he) and not a (they):
    Genesis 1:
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
So God created man in (his) own image,
    Not:
So God created man in (their) own image,
    in the image of God created (he) him;
    Not:
    in the image of God created (they) him;
male and female created (he) them.
    Not:
male and female created (they) them.
Genesis 1: 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
(therefore who is the (us) in Genesis 1 line 26?).
    Job 38:
38 Then the Lord answered Job out of the whirlwind, and said,
2 Who is this that darkeneth counsel by words without knowledge?
3 Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.
4 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.
5 Who hath laid the measures thereof, if thou knowest? or who hath stretched the line upon it?
    6 Whereupon are the foundations thereof fastened? or who laid the corner stone thereof;
7 When the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
    Revelation 1:
20 The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.
Jesus is the Holy Ghost which is the Comforter because it is Jesus doing the comforting.
Jesus is the Father because the Father is promised to send the Comforter, but it is Jesus doing the sending.
    Read John 14:15,16, 26 and 18; John 14:15,16 and John 16:7.
    John 14:
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
    16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
(Jesus is the Father because the Father is promised to send the Comforter and it is Jesus doing the sending):
    John 14:
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
    16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
    John 16:
7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.
The (he) that was manifested in 1John 3:5 is the (Father) in 1John 3:1
    1 John 3:
3 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
3 And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
    Titus 2:
    13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
(The Word in John 1 is interpreted in 1John 1 and the Word is the eternal life of the Father; the Father's life was with him and was manifested):
    John 1:
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 The same was in the beginning with God.
3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
    1 John 1:
    1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of life;
2 (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us;)
    John 4:
22 Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.
    John 4:
24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
    Deuteronomy 6:
4 Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord:
    1 John 5:
7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
    Job 13:
7 Will ye speak wickedly for God? and talk deceitfully for him?
8 Will ye accept his person? will ye contend for God?
9 Is it good that he should search you out? or as one man mocketh another, do ye so mock him?
10 He will surely reprove you, if ye do secretly accept persons.
    John 14:
8 Philip saith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us.
9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father?
Job 42:7 And it was so, that after the Lord had spoken these words unto Job, the Lord said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that is right, as my servant Job hath.
    John 8:
24 I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.
25 Then said they unto him, Who art thou? And Jesus saith unto them, Even the same that I said unto you from the beginning.
26 I have many things to say and to judge of you: but he that sent me is true; and I speak to the world those things which I have heard of him.
27 They understood not that he spake to them of the Father.
    Isaiah 9:
6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
    1 John 2:
23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
    John 20:
28 And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.
29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
    Revelation 21:
8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

    John 14:9, #Trinitarian #misunderstanding.
    #WHY did #Jesus say:
Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’
    John 14:9?
First notice something very #OBVIOUS? Jesus did #NOT say: Whoever has seen me has seen the (#GOD).
Because if Jesus had said: Whoever has seen me has seen (GOD), we would know for sure Jesus is the SAME GOD as His Father.
But instead notice what Jesus said? #Whoever has seen me has seen the (#Father).
    So what did Jesus mean?
    #Answer:
He is the (IMAGE) of the invisible (GOD), the firstborn of all creation. Colossians 1:15.
He is the radiance of the glory of God and the (EXACT IMPRINT OF HIS NATURE). Hebrews 1:3.
Notice, as Jesus is the (IMAGE) of the invisible (GOD), and the (EXACT IMPRINT OF HIS NATURE), then Jesus is OBVIOUSLY not the same Father GOD, but the (IMAGE) of the invisible (GOD), and the (EXACT IMPRINT OF HIS NATURE, which is why Jesus said: Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.
Jesus was #NOT talking about being #GOD, but that He has GOD’s identical #NATURE, being the ONLY person BORN DIRECTLY from His GOD, which is why Jesus is called the #ONLY #BEGOTTEN (BORN) Son John 3:16.

1+1=1 The Gospels disclose the existence of ONE SINGLE DIVINE relationship between Father and Son. In this relationship, the POINT OF VIEW of an alleged existing "THIRD OMNIPOTENT GOD" is NEVER taken into consideration by them, see for example when the authority of deciding is given by the Father to the Son, or in the Lazarus resurrection when Jesus thanks the Father, or in the Jesus' passion. An omnipotent "Lord who gives life" thus DOES NOT EXIST. Only TWO Divine Persons exist and accordingly of course WE HAVE TWO RELATIONSHIPS which are confirmed by Jesus "...whatever you ask of the Father in my name, He will give it to you.", and in his blasphemy statement"... a word against the Son of man, will be forgiven. But whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, will not be forgiven": only TWO blasphemies are possible. For EXCLUSION, from the latter we can understand that the HOLY SPIRIT IS THE FATHER, who is a thus a spirit. Indeed this is CONFIRMED by Jesus who states -very very important - that his FATHER IS GOD AND IS A SPIRIT (John 4:24). Where is that Spirit in the Gospels? Of course He is the Holy Spirit (or "Spirit of God", they are synonyms).

@@Nirky, the early Pioneers including Ellen White, James White and Jones and Waggoner and the rest of them did not believe in the trinity. They rejected the doctrine of the trinity and accepted the truth of the Bible there if there is one God, the Father and his son Jesus Christ. His Divine son Jesus Christ I should say. Our concept of what the word god should mean is distorted. The word god according to the Bible, when it refers to the father means the original source of all things. And in this sense it is true there is only one original Source of all things, that is the Father . Jesus, His Divine Son , is divine because He is the begotten Son , He came from the Father from the days of Eternity. This is what the Pioneers believed.

Then God begat the Word in eternity and this Word (Christ) was the “exact representation of God’s hypostasis” (Person/Reality). Around 33:43 you read from John 1:1-3 and say correctly that "through" means "there is someone making the things through Him." If your bible had said "by him" like the King James Bible says, it would have meant that the Word Himself was the Creator. By using the word "through" your bible has made the Word a little less than God; maybe a created being. Yes, I know it says "in the beginning" but it doesn't say the beginning of what. The "beginning" could have been the first being the Father created.
When the cripple was healed in Acts 3:6 it was a manifestation of creative power. The man had been lame since birth so creative power was manifested THROUGH Peter and not by Peter in creating muscles, nerves, bones or what ever else may have been needed to heal the man. This was done in the name of Jesus Christ who is the Word, is God and is the Creator.
Your New King James Version is wrong.

    • @stevebilliter
      @stevebilliter Před 4 lety +1

Martin--No it isn't--both are correct--"through Him" shows more specifically that Jesus carried out the Fathers will in Creation--The Father is the great Architect--Jesus did the work:
Gen 1:26 And God said, Let Us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.
I agree the KJV is better than the NKJV, but we must take each text on its own merits. Like I told you before, Pr. Bohr is a master at getting the right meaning from the right translation--in a few cases--even the NIV renders verses correct and the KJV gets it wrong. You still have a lot to learn about Bible versions.
Your bias against any version except the KJV has clouded your judgment, and you cannot see things clearly.

Is the Holy Spirit Christ himself or his representative?
"When God’s people search the Scriptures with a desire to know what is truth, Jesus is present in the person of His representative, the Holy Spirit…" 12MR 145.
“The Lord Jesus acts through the Holy Spirit; for it is His representative.”-Messages to Young People, 55.
“We cannot render to God supreme love and honor if we do not recognize the Holy Spirit which the Lord sends. The Holy Spirit represents Jesus Christ.”-2 Manuscript Releases, 38.
He [Christ] determined to give His Representative, the third person of the Godhead. This gift could not be excelled (My Life Today, p. 36).
Melchisedec represented God the Father and the Son. But Melchisedec was not the Father nor the Son. In the same manner, Holy Spirit represents Christ, but the Holy Spirit is not Christ himself.
Was Christ the representative of the Father just like Holy Spirit represents Christ?
"He [Christ] stood before the human race as the representative of the Father." RH Sept. 30, 1909.
Can the Holy Spirit search the secrets which lie hidden in the mind of God if he was not a person?
"The Holy Spirit has a personality, else He could not bear witness to our spirits and with our spirits that we are the children of God. He must also be a divine person, else He could not search out the secrets which lie hidden in the mind of God [the Father]. 'For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God'" [1 Corinthians 2:11] (Evangelism, p. 617).
Does the Spirit of God have a mind just like God has a mind?
"I have felt burdened, lest the work of confession and repentance would not go as deep and thorough as it should, in order to meet the mind of the Spirit of God." RH March 12, 1889.
If the Holy Spirit has a mind, He "must also be a divine person" seperate from God [the Father] who also has a mind.
Did the Third person of the Godhead who has distinct personality from Christ ALWAYS exist from eternity AS A SEPARATE PEPRONALITY with the Father and the Son? Or did He come into existence sometime later?
“The eternal heavenly dignitaries-God, and Christ, and the Holy Spirit-arming them [the disciples] with more than mortal energy . . would advance with them to the work and convince the world of sin.”-Evangelism, 616.
This work began in the heavenly courts . .The Godhead was stirred with pity for the race, and the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit gave Themselves to the working out of the plan of redemption. In order fully to carry out this plan, it was decided that Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, should give Himself an offering for sin.”-Counsels on Health, 222.
“The eternal Godhead-the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost-is involved in the action required to make assurance to the human agent.”- Upward Look, 148.
“Before this the Spirit had been in the world; from the very beginning of the work of redemption He had been moving upon men’s hearts. But while Christ was on earth, the disciples had desired no other helper. Not until they were deprived of His presence would they feel their need of the Spirit, and then He would come. -Desire of Ages, 669.
“All should bear in mind that Satan's special efforts are directed against the ministry. He knows that it is but a human instrumentality, possessing no grace or holiness of its own. He knows that it is an agent that God has ordained to be a powerful means for the salvation of souls and is efficacious only as God, the eternal Spirit, makes it so.” Testimonies to Ministers, page 404
Are, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit really Three distinct agencies?
Three distinct agencies, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, work together for human beings.- Manuscript 27a, 1900.
"The Holy Spirit is a free, working, independent agency." RH May 5, 1896.

This is what Adventists, and most protestants, believe concerning the Godhead, directly contrary to the Catholic trinity:
"There are three living persons of the heavenly trio; in the name of these three great powers-the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit-those who receive Christ by living faith are baptized, and these powers will co-operate with the obedient subjects of heaven in their efforts to live the new life in Christ.-Special Testimonies, Series B, No. 7, pp. 62, 63. (1905)” Evangelism, 615.
"When you gave yourself to Christ, you made a pledge in the presence of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit - the three great personal dignitaries of heaven." Ms 92, 1901 (7BC 959).
"The work is laid out before every soul that has acknowledged his faith in Jesus Christ by baptism and has become a receiver of the pledge from three persons - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit." Ms 57, 1900 (6 BC 959).
"After we have formed a union with the great threefold power, we shall regard our duty toward the members of God's family with a much more sacred awe than we have ever done before." Ms 11, 1901 (6BC 1102).
"The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, the three holy dignitaries of heaven, have declared that they will strengthen men to overcome the powers of darkness." Ms 92, 1901 (5BC 1110).

@UCAu0VVn1eWfGKYjkXWx_S2Q Agree with all of those EGW quotes. The Holy Spirit is the REPRESENTATIVE of Jesus, therefore not the Person of Jesus. Jesus says the same exact thing:
"Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you." John 16:7
Jesus says He is GONE AWAY, DEPARTED from His disciples. Yet, He is with us even now. How? Through the Holy Spirit, Mrs. White says the Holy Spirit is CHRIST'S REPRESENTATIVE, that's how Jesus can say even though I'm departed and not with you, yet I am with you.

@@Nirky I haven't deleted anything. I'm posting my comments on here because I want them to be read. I know genuine people out there respect Pr. Bohr and will fall for this nonsense.
I believe that [there is but] one God, the Father, of whom [are] all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom [are] all things, and we by him.
I believe that the Father [is] sovereign over all the universe and that though Jesus is also divine, the understanding that our homage (including Jesus'; see John 20:17) is due primarily to the Father is the reason why Christianity is still a monotheistic religion.
I believe that Jesus is, as defined by the Bible in Genesis, and, in the highest sense of the word, begotten of the Father, making him by nature equal to his father. Jesus, however, knows where he came from and to whom He owes His existence. Hence why He refers to his Father as my God, and your God.
I believe John 3:16 tells of a real sacrifice on the part of the Father. No role playing here. Our redemption cost God (and Christ) a WHOLE lot and is not to be cheapened by this role playing foolishness.
I believe that both God and Christ are everywhere present by their shared spirit, the fullness of the Godhead; and that the spirit, which, in keeping with 1 Cor. 2:11, is part in parcel of who God is.
I believe that the Bible was written for our admonition upon whom the ends of the earth has come, and as such, Ezekiel 8:16 should stand as a real warning to us as SDA's against adopting an imaginary god -- the Holy spirit as a third person -- that does not exist. I believe this opens the door wide to Satan who has always wanted to be included in the Godhead to fulfill his threat found in Isaiah 14:14. What better way to convince himself that he is like the Most High?
I believe that this is why it is so important to him; and why, after the councils of Nicaea and Constantinople, three whole nations, the Heruli, the Ostrogoths and the Vandals, had to be eliminated. Rome's reason being that they were Arian, but whom most likely simply did not subscribe to the trinity. Some act of evangelism eh, they don't agree with our theology, wipe 'em out. And this is the theology that we as Adventists have adopted despite the warnings of the Pioneers including Sis. White who said clearly that our religion would be changed?

Actually Shepherd's Rod adherents DO believe in a "triune" Jehovah according to the writings of their prophet [Houteff]:
“We know that the Trinity is best expressed by the use of the terms, Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Likewise we express God's attributes in three terms, namely, omnipresence, omniscience, and omnipotence. This feature could be greatly enlarged upon. If three is the symbol of the Triune Jehovah, four must designate that which proceeds from Him, as revealed in creation.” Shepherd's Rod book, Vol. 2, p. 54

It's not difficult to explain how Jesus is divine or as you say God.
Joh 5:17-18 KJV 17 But Jesus answered them, My Father worketh hitherto, and I work. 18 Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the sabbath, but said also that God was his Father, making himself equal with God.
Notice Jesus didn't say he was God. He said God was his father and by being a son of a divine being he was automatically claiming to be divine and the Jews understood that straight away.
1Co 8:6 KJV But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

The Bible is clear: there is only one God - The Father!
1 Corinthians 8:5-7 "5 For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)
6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
7 Howbeit there is not in every man that knowledge: for some with conscience of the idol unto this hour eat it as a thing offered unto an idol; and their conscience being weak is defiled."
Jesus calls His Father "My God" And severally prays and worships Him.
The Father NEVER prays to or worships Jesus. Nonetheless, He acknowledges his divinity (Hebrews 1:8) and this a simple fact, borne by the fact that Jesus is the begotten Son of the only true God.
John 5:18 "Therefore the Jews sought the more to kill him, because he not only had broken the Sabbath, BUT SAID ALSO THAT GOD WAS HIS FATHER, MAKING HIMSELF EQUAL WITH GOD."
John 10:32, 33, 36, "Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you FROM MY FATHER; for which of those works do ye stone me?
33 The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, BEING A MAN, MAKEST THYSELF GOD.
36 Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; BECAUSE I SAID, I AM THE SON OF GOD?"
So how is Jesus one with His Father? Simple, the same way believers are one with each other.
John 17:11, 21 "11 And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, THAT THEY MAY BE ONE, AS WE ARE.
21 THAT THEY ALL MAY BE ONE; AS THOU, FATHER, ART IN ME, AND I IN THEE, THAT THEY ALSO MAY BE ONE IN US: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me."
Further, several Scripture evidences testify of The Father's greatness over His only begotten Son.
John 14:28, “Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for MY FATHER IS GREATER THAN I.”
John 10:29, “29 MY FATHER, which gave them me, IS GREATER THAN ALL; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand.”
1 Corinthians 11:3, “But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and THE HEAD OF CHRIST IS GOD.”
1 Corinthians 15:26-28, “26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.
28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, THEN SHALL THE SON ALSO HIMSELF BE SUBJECT UNTO HIM THAT PUT ALL THINGS HIM, THAT GOD MAY BE ALL IN ALL.”
Acts 10:38, “38 How GOD ANOINTED JESUS OF NAZARETH WITH THE HOLY GHOST AND WITH POWER: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”
God anointed Christ because He is greater than Christ,
Hebrews 7:7, “And without all contradiction THE LESS IS BLESSED OF THE BETTER.”
John 5:36, “But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that THE FATHER HATH SENT ME.”
John 13:16, “Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; NEITHER HE THAT IS SENT GREATER THAN HE THAT SENT HIM.”
The FATHER sent JESUS to the world because He is greater than His Son.

In the "original" Greek manuscripts, "The Word" is only described as being "ton theos"(divine/a god) and not as being "ho theos" (The Divine/The God). A more faithful and correct translation of this verse would thus read: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS DIVINE" (If you read the New World Translation of the Bible you will find exactly this wording).
Similarly, in "The New Testament, An American Translation" this verse is honestly presented as
"In the beginning the Word existed. The Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS DIVINE."
The New Testament, An American Translation, Edgar Goodspeed and J. M. Powis Smith, The University of Chicago Press, p. 173
And again in the dictionary of the Bible, under the heading of "God" we read
"Jn 1:1 should rigorously be translated 'the word was with the God [=the Father], and THE WORD WAS A DIVINE BEING.'"
The Dictionary of the Bible by John McKenzie, Collier Books, p. 317
In yet another Bible we read:
"The Logos (word) existed in the very beginning, and the Logos was with God, THE LOGOS WAS DIVINE"
