Hetauda sub-metropolitan city is the headquarters of Makwanpur district. The town is geographically connected to the eastern end of the Chitwan Valley called Inner Madhes with the Churepahadi range. It is the major commercial and transportation center of central Nepal. It is located at the junction of Mahendra Highway and Tribhuvan Rajpath.
