10: Horror Ride
Water slides are some of the most dangerous amusement features in the world. If you have a fear of skydiving, bungee jumping, or something similar, you should know that water slides are infinitely more dangerous.
9: Spinal Injury
Universal Orlando is a scary place. It's supposed to be a place of wonder, and yet people continuously get injured on the rides. In December of 2020, a man from New York who had sued Universal Orlando after being paralyzed on a water slide at their park finally had his complaint settled.
8: Action Park Waterslide
Almost everyone is familiar with Action Park by now. After the recent film starring Johnny Knoxville, there has been renewed talk about this legendary park. It operated from 1978 to 1996 in New Jersey, and it was one of the most dangerous theme parks known to mankind.
7: Stuck Inside a Waterslide
You would think that only Homer Simpson could get stuck in a water slide. But it also happened to a man named Ryan Kelly, who had gotten stuck inside of a water slide support pipe at El Dorado Aquatic & Fitness center in Scottsdale, Arizona.
6: Inflatable Disaster
For a Georgia mother of two, an accident on an inflatable waterslide led to tragedy. This woman ended up being paralyzed from the neck down after a freak accident while attending a small gathering with her husband.
5: From Waterpark to Life Support
Nobody expects their trip to the water park to end with them on a life-support machine. But this is exactly what happened when a British man on holiday with his girlfriend broke his neck on a water slide in Spain.
4: Waterslide Decapitation
This is undoubtedly the most brutal story I’ve ever heard regarding a waterslide accident, and it's not for the squeamish. A young boy, only 10 years old, was decapitated during the most dramatic water slide incident ever recorded.
3: The Emerald Plunge Slide
The Emerald Plunge Slide was the site of a grisly accident in the small city of Dublin, California. During Memorial Day weekend in 2017, a 10-year-old boy was seriously injured after hydroplaning off the end of the slide.
2: Chinese Theme Park Debacle
In China, faulty equipment caused a massive tsunami at a water park that injured 44 people. This didn't technically happen on a water slide, but it's still an absolutely crazy example of what can go wrong at any water park.
1: Final Destination in Argentina
It seems that no matter where you go in the world, you're not safe from deadly water slides. In Argentina, a couple were hospitalized after flying off a broken water slide at the Aquopolis Water Park in the city of Mar del Plata.

I took my daughter to that park in Kansas city ks...we took one look at that slide and said hell to the naw naw !!!! That thing should have never been built. Poor kid his brother watched it happen. So sad condolences to the family they handled it with grace

They had to close down the water slide at the YMCA last summer cause the slide was cutting up people's back at certain parts. They said it was improperly put together

#8 2:48 I'm 50 now but then i was a teen & my mother wouldn't take me there. She said it was a death trap.. I thought she was just being overprotective.. Glad for it bcuz we did go to Great Adventure on 7a & she wouldn't let me go in the haunted house ride bcuz she was too scared to go in it & i couldn't go alone. It burned down one year.. Killing a number of kids/people.. The moral? Listen to your mother..
After this I’m never ever going on a water slide again
there’s not a high chance to get hurt on them, if you listen to the lifeguards and be careful you will be fine!
@@gia.s1229 ha... not! I got hurt on a small waterslide...I did what I was supposed to, but the pool was too shallow... it wasn't terrible, but it hurt my heels and they hurt for years! I'm small too!

I got hurt on a waterside in Spain, nothing serious but I was going down on my stomach feet first n my big toe nail got ripped off! It was so painful n I had to sit out the rest of the day
im terrified of fast rides and i went on Ghost Rider in Knotts Berry Farm and i thought i was going to die, and i got what i like to call an "Emotional Injury" by getting lots of Anxiety and i almost passed out, i dont know how but my left leg got broken

Small waterslides can be dangerous too! I got hurt on one! It was only the heels on my feet, but it hurt for years! It wasn't as bad as these stories, but regardless it hurt for years!

Action Park better known as Class action Park
When I was younger, I got slammed in the back by someone after going down a water slide, and no, I wasn't just standing in front of the slide. There is honestly little to no care by the staff in these parks. Just another day in paradise. Not for everyone.
I was injured on a slide that had a hump in the middle of it at LA's Magic Mountain. As I went down, I caught air as I went over the hump and instead of landing back on the slide, I landed on the side rail on my back. I could just as easily have gone over the side. The park has since banned users from 'swinging' at the top to get more speed. So, yes, it was likely my fault but who knows.... maybe it WAS just a gust of wind.
There's an old water slide in Thermopolis wyoming that's going to hurt someone one day.
I fell over the side of a waterslide in Auckland , NZ. Still not sure how. I'm of normal size and height, as the water rocked me side to side on the way down the slide, it rocked me right over/ Luckily I landed on rubber matting near the end of the ride but I'm done with water slides.
You need to show photos and clips that are actually applicable to each incident on the list, and not random pics, and clips that have nothing to do with the incident.

Yes, they should shut down. If a dog bites someone, they are put down. So should faculty water rides.
Watching these text me back when I was a child and remembering how my mom and all my aunts and uncles would never get on the theme park rides because of things like this. But I pray to God will bless and protect all that I've had to come in contact with these water parks. And those who have been injured I pray that God will allow them a speedy recovery at some point in time. Sadly Im one of the people who got insanely hurt but I survived but my daughter didnt. We were at the harmon pool and at this time there was a fast turn. Me and my daughter were going to fast and we both got throw off of it. I broke many bones including a part of my back but that not as bad as losing my be loved daughter

This is why I don't like water slides
In 2017 or 2016 l was playing with my friend John in a pool then a pickup truck toy went straight for the deep part of the pool the toy was floating in the deep part and l could only be in the non deep part cuz l didn’t know how to swim so l was about 5 or 6 years old and l went straight to the deep and l WUSHHED down the deep part so l put my right arm out the pool so my dad saw so he jumped in the pool so he saved me 🥺 l love my dad.
The most terrifying one is 4. The Decapitation of the 10 year old boy was really heartbreaking and really terrifying and the height of the water slide is what really scares me the most 😱

These slides are dangerous for adults and even more dangerous for small children! Parents please use good judgment with what you allow your small children to do!! Don't be stupid!!
Two of the most serious injuries were (at least partially) because of how small the children were. A little common sense all around would help a lot.

Why wasn’t the decapitation #1? Maybe it’s just me but losing a head seems crazier than 2 surviving with stitches. I won’t swim with large crowds. I also went to “cheap” water parks where the tubes were “bumpy” where the seams were showing. If you didn’t scrape your leg, your suit always got snagged. Most of the slides I went down were pretty lame. Lol.

I think theme parks should not only shut down a water slide that injures someone, but also tear it down and build a newer and safer version of it.
i got stuck once in a waterslide i was riding on a donut and then it got stuck, and i wasnt smart when i left the donnut there because someone else was stuck lol still they also got out so no worry

Yes I recently went to Volcano Bay Orlando Florida. The Punga Racers were scary as hell. I’m really lucky I didn’t get hurt. I won’t be doing dangerous rides ever again. That’s for sure. Not cool.

Yeah recently I was at classic waterslides and I hit my head on the slide and passed out while I went down I got drove into the hospital it was horrible was a nightmare so I refuse to go on any of the other slides that were really big I would only go on much smaller slides my mom will try to get me to go on a much bigger size but I refused that’s why you Gotta be careful and waterslides

Wow! It’s so sad, but a 10 year old boy was killed via decapitation via water slide. The worlds tallest waterslide? I don’t know what the engineers and designers were thinking when they built it. They should’ve done a major inspection. To tell you the truth, that waterslide should’ve never been built. The one at Schlitterbahn Park in Kansas City. I cannot pronounce the name, but it means insane in German.
