      It's even more hilarious since reporting the issue straight to the Inquisition violates the codex astartes which requires that such an incident is first to be handled by a chaplain of the chapter.

      Imagine the fucking heroes welcome that Titus got from those Templars in the inquisitor's transport.
      Think about it, he schwacked a whole pile of orks, killed their warboss, absolutely thrashed a chaos sorcerer (in terminator plate no less) then blew up a warp portal
      All while staying pure to the emperor, simply ignoring the taint of chaos, and most importantly thumbing his nose at the codex.
      No wonder he's chaining his weapons to himself like a Templar, he's their boiiii!

    • @illogicalbear6200

      Some in the Imperium hold the belief that you can only be shielded from chaos by becoming it's devotee, that the gods will shelter you in exchange for service. This is, in fact, the EXACT OPPOSITE of what usually happens. Extended contact with Chaos and the Warp will slowly but surely twist and warp you, body, mind, soul, even your very DNA. It brings the perols of corruption and mutation. The reward of heresy is a slow and painful death, unless you might be granted the Emperor's Mercy.

      No military truly wants mindless drones. They may think they do, but ultimately creating warriors who not only are tactically proficient, but are also able to implement sound judgement and understanding of intent vice only able to follow a cookbook is not only beneficial as part of a military, but is beneficial in all organizations. Every pilot that has ever lived has only ever done 1 thing: made decisions in the time they had with imperfect information. There is no "mother may I?" bullshit in such a situation, which can be applied very broadly, like in the instance of a small element separated from the group on a planet suffering a giant Waaaaagh with Chaos afoot.

    His demotion was unavoidable, as Cato Sicarius is captain of the second company now in all official lore, which Titus was once captain. That said being demoted is common when moving towards the more honorable companies, such as bumping him to the 1st company. Perhaps he's now a first company veteran. In which case he's not demoted so much as he's promoted into the most honorable company and just waiting for his captain to die so he can fill the slot.

  • @airagog
    @airagog Před rokem +15

    Actually no all of this makes sense.
    We know Titus is nearly immune to chaos corruption, but who do we see him going with? The Black Templars. ANOTHER group of space marines that are nearly immune to corruption due to their fanatical beliefs in The Emperor.
    We also see him using Righteous Fury, an ability that historically requires you to have immense amounts of faith since it's basically channeling The Emperor's might into your own (hence his superhuman bursts when he activates it and yes this does happen in lore). Meaning he is a highly religious marine (maybe even a candidate for living saint) taken by other religious marines when his primarch was resurrected and visited The Black Templars.
    More than likely the demotion was probably on Guilliman's part for ignoring the codex but offered him to become a primaris. Of course The Black Templars would have absolutely loved that one of their brothers from another chapter believed in the same doctrine they did. (That being the codex astartes are guidelines at best and they require immense faith in the emperor.) This probably explains why he was loved enough by them and loved them enough to don their ritual of chaining their weapons to themselves.
    The fact that he was willing to do that means he is cordial with one of the most infamously hard to please chapters. It makes sense The Emperor would give his favor to such a chad who embodies his true ideals of a space marine being both diplomat and unstoppable juggernaut.

    This time turns out it was option 1, and when they confirmed he wasn't a Manchurian Candidate ready to lose them a dozen planets at a key moment, they sent him back, no harm no foul. Me thinks the chaplaincy probably crawled up leandros ass like asmodai in a fallen rumor. If he didn't catch a ban hammer to the mouth he certainly went from captains honor guard to devestator meat shield. Kid had a ranking officer trying to shepherd him into the command chain but he had his codex wedged so firmly he broke chapter rules and definitely ended up on everyone's shit list. You dont squeal on that shit to an inquisitor, you take it to a chaplain. It would be weird for Titus to not have one in his force somewhere.

      Given how he bringed shame to his company and the Blueberry boys at large for false accusing a superior officer of corruption, chances are he became part of the Deathwatch.
