George Stinney Jr was executed in 1944 at the age of 14 years old. He is the young man pictured on the cover of “The Man-Not” book.

This is great, big up yourself youth man. However, where is the Marcus Garvey books? Most of those people he mentioned were heavily influenced by Garvey. Malcolm X, Kwame Nkrumah, Sekou Toure, Huey P Newton, Stokely, Walter, Rodney and the list goes on...

Thank you so much, I've always identified myself as a pan-African but I have rarely given myself enough time to read for a while now, I hope to gain much better understanding from these recommendations.

Where does technology and planned obsolescence fit into this? Economists ignore the depreciation of durable consumer goods.
*When Africa Awakes* (1920) by Hubert Harrison
Harrison worked with Marcus Garvey but was not a fan.
*Black Man's Burden* (1961) by Mack Reynolds
Both are free on the Internet.
*The Tyranny of Words* (1938) by Stuart Chase
George Orwell mentioned Chase in an essay on politics. He published the book, *A New Deal* , shortly before FDR's famous speech. He was a member of FDR's brain trust.

I can understand the passion for historical readings and I am all for knowing our history. But if Black people can't be motivated to action in light of the current racism that confronts them on a daily basis I not sure they would be inclined to read such heavy stuff which was relevant to the generations of that time. Those generations have either got tired of the struggle or succumbed to the trappings of capitalism which have kept them in perpetual mental slavery. But because they have been allowed to feel that they living in a world of equality they don't be bothered about challenging the system because they are removed from the societies that are poor .
The sad thing is those authors were leaders in out community. Nowadays too many of our influencers drive big cars, marry outside their race and preached messages that do not uplift their own. Keep up the message though.

Well spoken brother, our Africans brothers and sisters in this generation especially in the west think that the battle has ended, the battle has never ended! Until they become conscious, they will never rebel, and therefore bother the awakens ones like us have to be the ones to wake them up. It is the only way in which we can survive this world
