My whole life I have been a member of the church. I prayed to know that these things are true and never received an answer. One day after years of not receiving an answer, I told God that no matter what I would believe because the things I practiced brought me peace and joy. I would be a part of His children that were given to believe. Years later as I was preparing a Sunday school lesson the Lord, my God spoke to me. It melted me to my core. His voice told me that Joseph Smith is and was a prophet and that the BOM was and is true. Today I know what I know and God knows what I know and that is all I can say to family, friends and society who doubt my beliefs. I so appreciate each week of your podcast. I appreciate hearing your valiant testimonies. Your comments resonate with me and confirms what the spirit testifies to my soul!

What a beautiful testimony you have given. You “planted the seed “of the gospel in your heart , you watered it, nurtured it, and patiently waited for it to thrive, grow, blossom 🌸 and bloom. And though it took many years, you recognized the “fruits “of that seed. This left your heart ❤open and prepared for the Holy Ghost to bear witness to your soul that this is, indeed, the Lord’s Church. How perfectly lovely and precious. Thank you.😊

A lot of good stuff here. To the Korihor point of religion binding men. I remember a church lesson as a teen asking if two of us were told to drive 60 mph past each other in the desert flats without communicating or hitting each other, could we do it? It was then shared that like we have laws of the road we can do the same safely on the freeway because of laws, and that spiritual laws work similar. God's laws don't bind us but rather free us from undue pain and suffering.

Just had some thoughts from my study on these chapters:
John Welch has done work on Alma’s 10 fold repetition of God’s name reenacting the day of atonement, to Alma’s prayer being a possible prayer circle, and Korihor being cast out as a “scapegoat.”
I can't help but see more connections to the day of atonement and the temple in this chapter. Any chance the Rameumptom was built in a repurposed temple or something? The text says "13 For they had a place built up in the center of their synagogue."
The Rameumptom being a "holy stand" that would only "admit one person" and that was in the very center of the synagogue. A location where they were "separated, "elected," or "chosen." Really sounds like the holy of holies where only one high priest could enter. The holy of holies with the mercy seat / holy stand. We know "anointing" is to be separated and chosen. Of course their practices were corrupted, but sounds like echos of the day of atonement.
Perhaps Alma or Mormon were setting up the day of atonement symbolism. That's why Korihor being a scapegoat, the 10 fold repetition of Gods name, the prayer circle, the holy stand admitting one person, the anointing language, were all included??? This chapter also includes them stretching their arms towards heaven in prayer. It discusses observing the law of Moses. It talks about Alma “clapping his hands” on his brethren in a possible grasp or embrace. I see a lot of temple imagery. Connections???

I watched uncommon knowledge is there a God with Tom Holland Stephen Meyer and Douglas Murray and it was a lot of fun watching scientists argue and write books for the case - there is a God, I love the times we are living in!

Right?! Open Satanism is doing wonders for atheists! Douglas Murray effectively said, 'What we're left with after Christianity/religion is removed from society is nothing short of demonic'. (Super paraphrased).
Thank you Mike & Bryce! I love you both! 🙏💓👼
