- Another weekend means another relaxing throwing session on the mini pottery wheels! In general, I'm not good with round bulbous shape; I found it hard to belly out a cylinder especially on the mini wheels. But I'm trying my best here. Hope you enjoy it!

도자기는 구워야 하는 것으로 알고 있는데 어떻게 굽나요?집에서 굽나요?
Hi! It is indeed needs to be fired, and i do have a ceramic kiln at my home studio. If you dont have access to a local studio that offers firing service, maybe you should try to throw with an air dry clay. I did came accross a video of firing ceramic in a microwave but personally wouldn’t dare to try it..
I have a problem centering the clay. can you please give me a tip to center the clay?
I assumed you're using a mini wheel too right? My tips will be to set the speed on the lower level (not too fast) and avoid pressing/the motion down too much because the motor can't handle the force of our thumb (it will decrease the speed of the rotation or worse: makes the wheel stop turning altogether). For me, it will be easier if the clay is on the softer state and smaller so I don't need to apply much pressure and the wheel can rotate more swimmingly and steadily. Let me know if this is helpful, It's quite different centering on the mini and on the regular wheel, and I still trying to figure it out too..
@@GaweCeramics yes, I'm using a mini wheel a 10cm diameter wheel. Thanks for the information I will try today and let you know the results.
@@GaweCeramics Thank you so much for the tip it worked well. I made my first pot but still, I want to improve.
@@qwqwqw111 Yeah good to hear it worked out! Congrats on your first pot, it's quite addictive isn't it? Good luck!!
@@GaweCeramics It is addictive
Can minis be bisque fired and glaze fired in a regular big kiln with other peoples regular sized projects? I belong to a community pottery studio.
Yes of course, it’s totally the same process with regular pottery
@@GaweCeramics , Thank you so much for answering, I kinda thought it was the same kiln but didn't want to make anything super small until I was sure. 😊
Going to order my mini wheel today!
@@charlottesmom glad to know it helps! Let me know how it goes~~
