      You did the right thing by keeping your 2020 no point in trading or leasing all over again for a Maxima that's a year or 2 newer but has exact same features.... The dealership only looking out for there self and more money It would make sense if they had a different engine or something the only difference is the year because the 2020 is identical to 2023

    I can't help but think a 8 or 9 speed transmission would have saved this from being discontinued. They are such nice cars. But who wants to spend that kind of money for the CVT. Even if it's better than before. It has a bad reputation. I guess it doesn't matter in the long run, we are condemned to buzzing down the highway in a Norelco with wheels.

    • @mitchlu
      @mitchlu Před rokem +2

      I tried it when the gas prices were crazy. What does it do? Simple...the knock sensors retard the timing at the slightest detection of knock. It's invisible to you, there's no knock at all (since the timing was retarded to compensate), but you will notice a slight decrease in performance. I am a mechanical engineer and had my '16 since new, now 134K miles.

    • @Therealpeter10
      @Therealpeter10 Před rokem

      @@mitchlu so what gas do you use? Is it ok to put regular? The cheapest one???

    • @mitchlu
      @mitchlu Před rokem

      @@Therealpeter10I use premium only because I like that full-power feeling all the time. However, you definitely do not need it, and it can run on 87 (and won't experience knock-if your engine is in good tune). But, because the timing has been retarded, you will notice a "seat-of-the-pants" difference in performance (after the second full tank). And, your gas mileage may suffer since that engine is designed for peak efficiency with 91+ octane (so you might not be saving anything in that regard). So, in the end, I switched back to premium, and used some octane boost in the next two tankfuls to get the performance back quick when I decided I didn't like the way it felt. Back to normal/fast ever since. (But you won't hurt anything by trying it, like I did).
