Whether there is any engineering drawings involved in these builds or not it is impossible to not be impressed with Dan's awesome imagination and ability to pull these little adventures off.
It would be one thing to design a four-cylinder from scratch, but it's totally another to ADD to an existing engine or you have to work around what's already there. You sir are a mechanical genius and I love all your builds!!
@@fourKeeps2020 There are a few already built with two 4 cylinder engine blocks with custom bottom end. One example is called PGM V8. Yamaha R1 based cylinders and heads.
That is so awesome! Now just need to make a v12 for a retro speed boat. That would be beyond awesome. And all done with manual machines, you get my respect!

Это шоу-двигатель. По всем параметрам выгоднее и дешевле купить двиг от VFR, и всё. Если прям нужен качественный двиг для проекта. Заводское качество есть заводское качество, а также водяное охлаждение.

If they put a carburetor with a membrane, it would improve the sound brutally! I'm telling you from my own experience I have a keeway dorado 250 and when I put a pz30 on it the sound was weird I lost that sound of the v-engine and when I put the original back on the difference was very noticeable, the engine is a Chinese copy of the xv250 and it uses the Same carb as the xv250. greetings and congratulations for your great work as always
The 360 degree one is called a "Droner". Le Dan's idea of the 290 degree offset sounds more interesting for sure. I'm waiting to hear the final sound with the full exhaust and with the bike in motion.

Another fantastic build. I would really like to see you build a 60 degree V 8x125cc cylinder engine. For the induction/carburetors, 4x2 barrel carbs, not sure if you could get down drafts carbs, if not 4 side drafts from a V twin Briggs and Stratton would be awesome!!! Plus connect the exhausts in the 2 pipes, I bet it would sound fantastic, even better if you could connect the pipes so the two exits had all the 180 degree firing cylinders in each collector........ please!!!!!

Has a really nice response to throttle! Sounds really good to for 440cc motor. Or i am assuming its 440cc ifi read the pistons right which had 110 labeled on them. Can't wait to see what you put this on. Im am interested in how you will run the exhaust pipes.
Think that's 1.0 as in 1mm o/s pistons. Seems to be stomp based engine and they are usually 140cc so if I'm correct that'd make that motor a 560cc ish 🙂
I'd be really interested on the mileage you will see of this truly great Frankenstein creations! I for sure wouldn't trust using those to do a one week desert trip on my own, but what you do here is amazing from a technical engineer's standpoint! 🙂
Excellent video, well laid out and truly fascinating, Le Dan you are a true engineer, I have been paying special attention to a lot of the smaller details in your builds as I am building a six cylinder engine from two Yamaha 600 Diversion engines and these are of great help, what are the CDI units you are using please, these would be handy for my build, Happy New Year and Kind regards from Doc Cox.

90° is perfect like my VTR, perfect by not being perfect 👌 lol, it's like having a cross crankshaft in a straight 4 cylinder, giving the kinda lumpy running for better traction and awesome sounds 😀
I've been following him since very early on since his first CZcams channel existed. This is Le Dan's second V4 engine. But the first engine has a difference in the layout of the crankshaft and the viscous line. It was sold

Whenever I watch Le Dan, two thoughts come to mind. One, Le Dan's industrious and ingenious fusion of engine parts to create a new engine by synthesis, leaves me in awe of his mechanical and design abilities. These videos are not showing the wishful squishing together of parts. This is planned. He has visualized all he shares with us before he starts to shoot the video. Conceptualizing, in both the sense of understanding the concepts behind an engine and adding those concepts together to form a new engine from the mental pieces. (To better understand what I mean by "the concepts behind an engine", please watch some of 'driving 4 answers' videos. They too are worth the time to watch.) And two, which is less of a thought than it is a musing -- a question. Where would Vietnam, and all of the Le Dans in Vietnam, be today if its recent past had been different? The French colonization, the Japanese occupation, the civil war with its destructive foreign involvement on both sides, what if the world had helped Vietnam prosper instead of exploiting the country?

That's unfortunately how helping towards prosperity worked historically. Le Dan would be building wooden boats if it wasn't for the things you listed
the exchange gears and clutch will not resist. The flywheel is designed for one piston only.

Wonderful work! suggestion though. Your intake runners aren't equal length, the top cylinders will have more torque than the bottom two.
