Hello
After the competition of MRCGP and GP training, how do we find jobs? All the posts on NHS job website talk abt salary per session. I didn't understand this. Can you please make this clear?
Jobs are advertised on various platforms. RCGP job and NHS job website are useful for job hunting.
Salaried GPs are paid per session. You might see salary of 11K per session being advertised. A session is 4h10min of work in a week. For example, a part-time GP working 2 sessions may work one full day or 2 half days a week. The annual salary for 2 sessions therefore 2 sessions x 11K.
Doctor I cannot understand that there is a good work life balance and also there are chances to be burn out and do home visits and admin work as well ? How does this together works?
Everyone is different depending on the team, support available from colleagues and workload. For example some doctors don't bring work home and stay later while others prefer to bring the work home.
