It’s part of football. We weren’t going to go the entire season without any key injuries. The last time we had an injury at left tackle I seem to remember the guy that took that spot did pretty well. We’ve got this Irish fans!
I was told that Baker took 1st team reps today at LT. I have no idea if he & Wagner split reps there. But my guy said that Baker was definitely taking first team reps.
Lambert was running with the 3rd team for a reason. He's not close to ready as a pass blocker. Absher and Knapp are most likely the next guys up (behind Baker). The problem with Knapp (besides him being a true freshman) is he is just as small as Wagner, but he doesn't have Wagner's pure strength. I think Absher is our best bet for this season (at one of the tackle spots).
Lambert will be great, but needs development. He came from a high school team that was run heavy....so pass protection, which is important for a LT, will need some work.
