    It could be a couple different things. I would suggest heading to the repair help section of our website (link in the description). If you enter your model number there you'll have access to model and part specific repair help that will help diagnose your problem.

    Excellent instructions on how to replace the pump. Biggest headache is the front seal spring. Even with good pliers it was a little hard to fight and make sure it seats correctly. Just take the time and do NOT damage the seal. The special spring pliers I seen in another video would be a must if I did this all the time.
    Thanks for the helping hand, from one tech to another.

      How do you remove the front seal? I'm using these instructions, but the guy seems to gloss right over removing the front seal. You can't just lift up the front assembly. Somehow the seal must be disconnected from the front panel. Trying to figure that out now.

    • @TraylorHead

      +Daryl McClellan Peal back the seal and you will see a wire clamp that goes around it. It's keep in place with a spring.

    Since this is a 120 volt two wire AC motor it doesn’t matter what terminals the wires go on. If it was a DC motor it would run in reverse if you switched the two wires around.

    One thing I would add (from experience) - my pump did not seal properly after installation (mounting screws are not evenly distributed around the pump itself). I added some silicone sealant around the gasket and it stopped leaking.

    I've an LG model just like that, we have change this pump like 4 times in 5 years, is this pump weak like that? My previous machine lasted like 15 Years straight! I don't even use this much, if I use it once a week is too much.

    • @repairclinic
      @repairclinic  Před 9 lety +1

      +coisasnatv Something getting caught in the pump could cause failure and also if you have added on to the drain hose the pump could fail more often than normal.

    • @repairclinic
      @repairclinic  Před 9 lety +1

      angel gas A live voltage test looking for output voltage from the control board using a meter and the wiring diagram is how a technician would do it. The pump needs 120VAC to run, so either the board is not supplying it or the pump is not able to run when voltage is applied. Typically, this is not something most DIYer's have the training to do.

    So my issue started with rubber backed carpet being washed and clogging the pump I got an OE error code and after tearing apart the washer and cleaning everything out I still hear the pump start and keep getting the error how do I know if it's the recirculation pump or the actual drain pump that needs replaced

    You missed a vital step - right at 5:54 notice that electric wire? you forgot to mention to reconnect that wire. If you don't do that you the door will always seem open to the washing machine and it wont run.

    Great instruction. I have a LG F1022ND washing machine. The water remain inside washing. The drain pump, Hanning DP025-208, under 220V runs some seconds clockwise and some other seconds counterclockwise, changing continuously the direction. What do you think? It is normal? Thanks.

    • @repairclinic
      @repairclinic  Před 8 lety

      +60Tani If there is proper voltage to the pump motor and it fails to run then it is likely defective and will need to be replaced.

    • @repairclinic
      @repairclinic  Před 9 lety

      Newguy2it If there are only two wires going to a pump like this than it does not normally matter. The motor is designed to only run one direction. The only way to be sure is to look if the pump terminals are labeled, if so, use the machines wiring diagram to determine which color wire goes to each terminal.

    My washer gets to the final light (SPIN) and does not drain - however it does spin during the washing cycle. Went to the parts supply today and he sold me a pump motor and said I didn't need a circulation pump. I have not replaced the motor and I still have the same problem - not draining in the last cycle. I am thinking I do indeed need to get a circulation pump. Your thoughts?

    • @repairclinic
      @repairclinic  Před 9 lety

      Jean Davis Circulation pumps are only running during the wash cycle and has nothing to do with spin. A drain pump is ran before most washers enter the spin cycle to drain a good portion of the water out before the drive system engages the tub.

    Really good video!Before I go ahead with doing the pump replacement can I get your opinion please as I can't get anyone to comment on any other site...I have the LG steam front load washer that throws a "check filter not draining" error just before the spin cycle. I press the pause button and then play and it continues on with the cycle until the final spin cycle and then throws the error again. I do the same thing (pause, play) and it will finish off the wash cycle. The filter was cleaned out and I checked the drain line (watched it drain to the sink). I'm thinking that mechanically the pump is fine but electrically it's not. Or does this sound like more of a circuit board issue?Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

    • @repairclinic
      @repairclinic  Před 8 lety

      +john desmond Sure could be a problem with the drain pump but the only way to know for sure is to do some electrical testing with a volt meter and the wiring diagram from the machine.

    Do you have any advice for cleaning out the drain pump hose? (the one with the plug the comes out of the access panel? My fault (never knew I had to drain it), and it is 100% clogged. This means that all the water comes out of the filter hole when I remove the filter. Using a drill bit as an auger (you can continue reading after you stop laughing) has cleared the hose clog back to the front panel, but I can't get any further.

    • @repairclinic
      @repairclinic  Před 9 lety

      AqueductsAreCool You might try removing it and soaking the hose in a wash tub with warm water and soap.

    • @repairclinic
      @repairclinic  Před 9 lety

      AqueductsAreCool Right. Take the motor(s) off so you are working with just the plastic housing. You could also use compressed air to try and clear an additional blockages.

      Now I travel and manage service projects for industrial gas turbines.
      I know, as well as you should, that no even if someone does some of their own maintenance they are eventually going to have to come back to us to fix hat they screwed up.
      No doubt you benefit from people trying to fix it on their own who are not able to do so. More repairs for you to make.
