- 1971 Nova?
Been a while since we've done anything with this old girl. With cars going down the road I wanted to spruce up one of my oldest cars before I put it on the block. As per usual the plans go off the rails but I HAVE A PLAN!

I think you're doing the right thing transferring the dream drivetrain from the Camaro into the Nova. Let the new owner of the Camaro roller negotiate with you on any drivetrain parts that you are willing to sell to them.
Keep the Nova you're Dad bought it for you finish off the way that you always want it keep it!!
His friend bought it ?
Best move ever, true SS Nova, sentimental value, you'll be happier down the road, isn't that what it's all about? AND help Dani enjoy her ride this summer TOO you can tell she's anxious.
Can’t keep a car you won’t fit in. That’s crazy. I like the plan with the Nova. Of course, you had me on the repo. Cheers!! 😎
I support every decision you make on your channel, after all it's "your" channel, but in my opinion "not that my opinion matters " stripping the Camaro of it's brand new driveline and Keeping the Nova is the best idea yet. Keep up the great work DD!
Best plan I've heard yet!! Those of us that have been around since the beginning can definitely relate to this car... Love the Nova, can't wait to see it DUN!!!
Absolutely agree! The Camaro is cool it’s amazing but it was done being “for” this channel the moment the rust was gonna and it was just too nice to be fun to watch bc it’s out of my range 😂 my favorite part of this channel is how real it is. Camaro is awesome but murova is glorious and I like this plan and I am excited to see the updates again!! It’s felt recently like he was exhausted by it all I’m super pumped to see him attacking a really personal project
I was thinking the same thing can’t wait
I had a 73 Nova back in the early 80's. Man do I miss that car!
Glad you're keeping yours!
In 1973 I bought a brand new Nova, bright yellow w a white top, 6 cyl, powerglide, AM radio and Rally Wheels. $3292 including the tax and license. I was 17. Nice car
"Dan here, DD's Sales Shop!!"
Now that's funny! 😅
“It’s the summer of Dan.” Fantastic!!! Selling all the hot rods…I can’t wait to see what you buy to replace all these cars with!
replace it with land in the US
Perfect logic on the Nova.
Your cars,your channel....do it,we'll watch
💯
This is true too
yep, 100 %
Speak for yourself!

Great plan. Let's go!
Dani's 57 sounds pretty good. Let her take it home lol. I understand the attachment to the Nova and think you have a solid plan. Now the Camaro, would be cool with that big block in it...
Mur bought it for you! That alone is reason enough to keep the Nova!! Then on top of that all the time you’ve spent on it, and it’s comfortable. All of that together is a solid reason to keep it as your forever car!! Forget about all the internet haters..keeping your ‘71 Nova is a great decision!!!!
Also my can opener arrived today…, thanks Mur!
If you prefer the Nova, you do the Nova. The heart wants what the heart wants 😀.
It ain't the heart, it's his Samsquanch legs...I have the same problem with Camaros and Corvettes...
I always thought the wheel lift was an excellent purchase. Keeping the Nova sounds Ilike a good plan to me, that one has more sentimental value. I’m a Ford guy but I think actually like that car more than your Cobra.
If it don't work, it don't work, it's that simple. Shame with all that hard work, sure wish I could afford it! But the Nova, ah yes, always been a Nova man myself, had a 70, and a 68, great cars. Yours being a original SS, oh Hell yeah, GREAT keeper! Good plan.
Hello Dan and Danielle, you are not wrong. You’re doing the right thing to put the drive train in the nova that your dad bought you I bought a 1965 bonneville convertible because my dad had one and every time I work on it or drive it I feel like he’s right next to me, thank you for inspiring me to work on that car. Keep up a good work. Dan cheers
I take my Nomad to car shows and every Camaro, Chevelle, Nova is an SS. It’s fun to see a real SS for a change. Keep the videos coming and thanks
One of the guys in our local club is 6'3" and has a '69 Camaro RS/SS 350. I moved the seat back for him 2.25" and he says he is very comfortable in the car. I don't know how tall Dan is because he hasn't mentioned it that I've heard, but comfort is subjective, and you're either comfortable in a car or you're not.
Exactly, I moved my seats back also. They also make seat extensions for these first gens.
I'm guessing he's 6'2"-6'3"ish. He doesn't tower over known 6'(ish) guys (Finnegan, Newbern, etc.) in his videos.
There's 6'8" basketball players with old Camaros. So while Dan could certainly make it so he can fit (at least length-wise), there's no need to hack the car up if his heart's not in it.
You are making the right move on the Nova. That would be one you really kick yourself for if you sold it.
Great to see you working on more suitable property. Totally the right move.
Always fun to watch Dan and Dani playing musical cars at a secret location...somewhere in greater Winnipeg..
This is exciting! I like the shake-up you are doing with your projects.
What kinda Idiot needs a trailer ? 😊🤣 Hahaha
In high school I was a member of Napa Ca. car club "The Berserk Bros" I had a 55 chevy, Don had a nova and Pam had a 68 Big block Camaro. You are assembling my high school days. LOL
Nova for the win!
Dan this is one of the best decision you have made on this channel 👏 👍 👌 🙌 😀
I think dialing back into the NOVA is the best move you have made in a long time. Best of luck the original 350-4 speed will pay dividends in the future. Clean it up make the interior as close to stock as possible for the win.
You're not wrong. In fact, - the drivetrain swap and restoration of the Nova is 100% the way to go!
1971 Nova is the car I have been chasing for about 2 years now. I'm excited to see you work on this one.
I think the drivetrain swap is a genious move! You spent a lot of time and money with John on that engine and trans! Why not keep it and use it. The Nova is a perfect candidate! Great move!
Great decision … I loved my 70 Nova.. I was 18 and swapped a 6 banger with a sweet 350 automatic with a shift kit. We built the motor in my friends apartment after work…1980 fully restored 8k 😂😂😂😂… I remember buying the 12 bolt rear and running it for the first time…3rd gear before I got out the driveway… It’s had 488 gears in it… that’s how you learn to build a rear kids !
i'm happy that you're holding onto the nova and going with the drivetrain swap. i totally get it. every time i saw you get in and out of the camaro i had a gut feeling the experience would get old in short order. love that yellow too btw. plus... subframe connetors!
Good plan with taking the drive terrain and swapping into the one you love and keep.
I love the idea of swapping the drive train from the Camaro to the Nova. I'm a huge Nova guy, literally and figuratively. hahahaha If you do everything you're planning, this will be one SWEET Ride! It's funny how two cars that are similar in size can have such a dramatic difference in roominess. I guess because the Camaro was always intended to be a sporty car, where the Nova was more of a family car. Whatever the case, I love it.
I love the idea Dan. I’m just partial to the Nova I had factory SS 396 4 speed car years ago and ended up selling it and regret it to this day. I’m really stocked your keeping it. It truly would be a regret if you sell it. Looking forward to this build it going to rock. 👍😎✌️
One of my 68 Chevelles is Butternut yellow.
Good plan dan !! Can't wait to see the final result
That Nova is every bit of awesome as any car from the late 60's to early 70's. The fact that it is a factory SS is pretty cool as well.
No sense driving a car that you're not 100% invested in, and I'm sure it will only take minutes to sell it once you're ready.
Looking forward to seeing that Nova done and ripping down the street. Keep them coming.
LOVE THE NOVA.........love the camaro as well, but you gotta fit in it im a bit bigger than you so i can relate
Good afternoon from Cape Cod ⚓ Dan I'm 6 ft 6 with a 36-in pant leg, I had a 68 Camaro and a 68 firebird and fit in both of them fine, plenty of legroom and very comfortable I might add. I think the problem is you need to get Camaro seats. Anyway you like your Nova so you do what's best for you. Keep up the great work and the awesome content guys 👍✌️🇺🇲
I agree, I am bigger than Dan and fit in my 67 just fine. Not sure about this being the correct decision as what Dan wants seems to change from day to day. However Dan is a MACHINE when it comes to building cars so if he wants another down the road he is THE MAN to build it.
@@stevenbauer2205 I'm hoping Dan finishes the Camaro, I don't care about Nova's but I do appreciate Dan's expertise so I will watch the build ✌️🇺🇲
Great idea for the Nova. I had as 1971 Acadian SS 4 speed when I was 21 sure loved that car.
Glad you’re keeping the Nova!
Awe Dani s smile when she looks at you after that car fires up is exactly what every car guy looks for in a woman!!! Kudos Dan!
Maybe the guys headed east can switch the rad cap back and forth between the two cars at fuel stops? Mint!
We probably will. 😊
@@thatchubbymechanic safe travel, friend! I look forward to seeing what you do with these cars, even if it's nothing but driving and enjoying them.
The long roof is going to be on Power Tour 2025, if all goes well. With more power!
All Great cars, Keep the ones you love and will drive.
I'm so glad you're finally working on this thing! Seeing it in the background for years now and always wanted to see some good content with it. Pretty stoked for the revamp of this car. I currently own 3 ove them and have owned at least 10 others over the years.
I love it. I have a 72ss 4speed 454 and yes great choice.i cant wait. Caltracs and subframe connecters to.great job dan and danny
Stab the big block in the Camaro and kick it running
I think you made a great decision on swapping the drive-train to the Nova.
I loved watching the crazy amount of work for the 67 but I personally never felt much excitement for that car but did enjoy watching everything you did to rebuild that car by jacking up the radiator cap and put a new body underneath. I would have been very overwhelmed by all that you did to bring it to life. The Nova is a car I have much love for especially 69-72 before the big bumpers. I totally understand it becoming your forever car because of that history of its inception and I am excited to see some Nova action. As long as you make a decision that fits you and what you want I will support that 100% keep up the good work
It’s time for another good one 👍👍
I love that idea
I hope you guys find the property that'll fit all your needs....sometimes we gotta let go of a few toys in order to get ahead
Sounds like good plan looking forward to seeing the Nova
Perfect decision,,, let’s go!!!!
Well, I personally love a 71 Nova SS, so I’m proud of you young man, and I’m sure Mur is too!
Can't wait to see the Nova get the love!!! Somebody very lucky is going to get one solid roller for a fantastic Camero project, that's for sure!
Watching you tie the steering wheel to tow the nova. My dad used to use a wheel lift tow truck when I was a kid. He always carried used fan belts would rap and loop it around the wheel, pull it tight and close the door on it. Worked like a charm, and was fast. Not saying it’s the right way! Keep up the good content Dan!
Just please keep your nomads get rid of red kit car
Nah keep the red kit car just to piss off Paul ;)
Dani's car...has a battery...but no rad cap !!!!
Or air cleaner
Winner!! Your Nova is one of my favorites. Glad you're keeping it.
Mine too
Makes perfect sense, build the car you love and give it all the good stuff.
Totally agree about the Nova,...🤔 But why not put the drive train from the Nova in the Camero and sell it as a running driver?
Anyone buying would be a motorhead, and they dont mind buying rollers, because they would put be swapping motors most likely anyway...he will get a good penny either way..
No matter what, you should make a decent amount out of the Camaro without a motor.
Dan, very happy to see you giving the Nova some love, 4 speed 12 bolt is a big plus, Nova Bros After All
Looking forward to seeing the Nova get built/restored!
Hell yeah! I totally get it !!
NICE CAR 🚘🚗🚘
Stoked about the plan. Definitely hope you still "finish" the camaro because I think it's worth it after you've come this far, minus the driveline, but even more excited to see the Nova get that love it deserves. You can't ever sell that car!!
I think that's a smart idea, although a lot of work ..... will be well worth the effort. Can't wait for this build to start! Always great content Dan.
Moving on up... to da east side. To a delux acko shack in the pines. Yeah, moving on up... 👏 👏 👏 👏
Heck yeah 👍 go for it
Love the idea! I have always wanted to see more Nova updates. Once that Arabian Prince sends me his fortunes he promised, I'll be buying one!
I really like the direction you are going with the Nova..... looking forward to seeing the build!
I think you would be crazy to keep the Camaro and sell the Nova that your dad bought you I wish you would finish it completely and not leave it ratty but it's not my car
I understand
I saw that coming a mile away...lol... I've been in love with that Nova since I first saw it! Can't wait to see it ripping up the street!
Glad you’re keeping the nova it looks awesome with the dog dishes.. can’t wait to see it redone
Hell yeah
Keep the Nova but don't DD Speed Shop it. Camaros are a over done, the Nova is more unique these days. Besides your dad got you that one you have to keep it.
Good decision on the nova. The camaro is a great start for the next owner with all the new sheat metal
Your not wrong, comaros and mustangs are like bungholes, everyone has them, the Nova, firebird,GTO are beginning to get to the tri5 level of collector must haves
Yes Sir!!!
Excellent decision. A small block Nova is a much better balanced car than a big block Nova.
Dan you will have the car that you want and that's the main thing, plus it's gonna be a badass car. I've been here since 30thousand subs and the nova was always one of my favorites. Let's do it 👍👍
Great idea Dan, make the camaro a roller and transfer all that new drive line over to the nova plus you and you dad have history with the nova. Looking forward for the " Nova Re-Build " video only on DD speed shop ...need to pull out the '47
Dan swaps carburetors like I swap batteries.
I love the idea, That Nova is gonna be sweet...Plus your dad bought it for you...I get it
Watching this in the garage as I'm working on my 68 nova. Looking forward to more nova content
Can't wait for the nova build
The internet loves you little Murr if they didn’t you wouldn’t get the views you get . Just keep doing what you’re doing and all will be good in the universe
Love to have a Dan go ride in driveway great show keep up the amazing work be safe my friends God bless all
I'm excited for what the future holds for you.
Both of you!
Just received my DD Speed Shop Stickers! Nova project sounds awesome! Have fun.
what does it have to do with repo, click bait?
Ya know the tow truck that looks like a regular truck but could be a repo truck don't take life so seriously you won't make it out alive eitherway
You must not be a fan of this channel. Everyone who is subbed knows that's his tow truck.
@@berserkirwhat are you talking about.
I think it's more like watch and find out ...all Good, lot's of Cool Cars changing hands.
I think he needs to understand that tow rig isn't designed to pull the car up against the back of the truck! Extend it out and let it ride
It's a perfectly reasonable plan to yard the drivetrain out of the Camaro for the Nova. The Camaro buyer might want the big block and your Sniper setup....
I absolutely love, and completely "get" the statement, "They all kinda run"!
Butternut with black vinyl was my dream car at 17, I’m 67 now. I did drive a 68 Camaro senior year of high school .
