Bard solo Froggy for the Singing Steel Helm, EverQuest P99 Green

- A walkthrough of getting down to Froggy's room and soloing him and the placeholders. I still don't know if I was killing the right placeholder or not, but just by happenstance I got him to pop up finally in a different location. Although he didn't drop the fabled bard helm, it was more or less to show that it is definitely possible to solo. Keep rocking!

Hey everyone, so I realize I did not show all the types of placeholders, which would be the warrior, shaman, and wizard types. But I will explain some way to handle them, which may be dependent on gear, etc. I somewhat showed the warrior in the video.
For the Wizard, they hit hard even with slow, but you can either try chain-mezzing to stop casting or by twisting your MR songs (Elem Rhythms and Guardian) to resist more and get more dps in, which actually worked well for me when coupled with dots or healing as needed.
The same can be done to the Shamans, except at approximately half life, they will start to heal. So in that case, I would chain mezz to stop that and heal yourself up as necessary.
You may know better ways to crush them down, so use that, because I am not trying to reinvent the wheel and I honestly don't know that many tactics. So happy hunting and get that SS Helm!

I have a 56 Paladin and you are seriously convincing me to switch main to Bard. The amount of flexibility and utility the class has is just amazing!
If a new server is launched I very well may create a Bard and I’ve always been a Paladin main since 1999!

I main a Paladin on Blue and a Bard on Green. With decent gear Paladin can do all this kind of stuff as well. I solo crawl Sebilis and kill named all the time on my Pally; up to and including the 4-door named in Crypt. Both classes are loads of fun!
I don't even know how to play a bard but loved watching this anyway!

lol i remember delving like this on an SK, sometimes FDing past see invis mobs, sometimes killing, sometimes just booking it for the exit and leaving if i got caught

For sure. It would be slower, but as long as you don’t get a crit lull resist you’re fine. Even with below average gear you can use the fight/mezz/heal trick. Would be slower without the good weapons, but totally doable.
