Punch-Out!! is a 2009 boxing video game developed by Next Level Games for the Wii. It is the fifth and most recent mainline game in Nintendo's Punch-Out!! series, following the SNES version of Super Punch-Out!!, and is a reboot of the series.
Following an early release at the Nintendo World Store in New York City on May 16, 2009, the game was released on May 18, 2009 in North America, May 22, 2009 in Europe, July 23, 2009 in Japan, and August 27, 2009 in Australia (exclusively at JB Hi-Fi stores). An additional WiiWare title, Doc Louis's Punch-Out!!, was released exclusively for North American Club Nintendo members on October 27, 2009. It was re-released under the Nintendo Selects label in 2011 for North American audiences only, as well as through the Wii U's Nintendo eShop in 2015 in all regions.
Little Mac is back and ready to step into the ring once more! Our favorite underdog from the 1980s joins the best of the original Punch-Out!! fighters, including Glass Joe, King Hippo, Von Kaiser, and more. These boxers come to life in cel-shaded 2-D, complete with hilarious fighting animations and backstories that capture all the fun and flair of the original Punch-Out!! games.
Hook, jab, swing, then flawlessly execute a Star Punch to take down your opponent. Train with Doc to prepare for the next match, then get back into the ring to face your next challenger. Some defeated opponents may return for a rematch, but come out victorious and you'll be one step closer to winning the Championship Belt!

Honestly, gonna be honest. I find this sorta gameplay to be nice and refreshing, no commentary. But still getting hit, making mistakes, not exploiting every single moment of weakness.
Makes the fights feel more entertaining to watch and shows more of the raw appeal of the game. And it helps the viewer experience to ask. “Wait, will you lose this fight? Do you know the dodge the- Oooooh, ouch!”
