I just recently gave up any tenuous grasp on fashion sense that I may have misguidedly still laid claim to and bought two concealed carry fanny packs. After my soul finished screaming it’s last desperate gasp into the ether, lamenting how I’d never be cool again if indeed I ever was, I received my Blackhawk fanny pack 2 days ago. The thing is huge! Definitely seems like you could fit a full size in it but haven’t tested anything out just yet. I also grabbed a Helikon-Tex in the flecktarn camo scheme in one of those truly pathetic attempts to try and retain even the slightest modicum of coolness. I’m reliably advised it’ll arrive sometime between next month and never. Hope this gave someone a laugh 😆

I take carrying seriously. I carry everyday, even in my house. I have caught a lot of crap over it from family and friends. Funny thing though, a couple of weeks ago my dog started freaking out and my doorbell rang. The young lady that lives down the road from me was standing on my front porch, bleeding and with and obviously broken arm. Her brother attacked her with a baseball bat. I got her inside, closed and deadbolt the door, called the police... who didn't arrive for 15 to 20 minutes. The whole time I figured I may have to use my ccw to protect us. Luckily nothing happened, but you never know when something might. Better to have it than need it.

I thinks its odd,..they finally made very small guns that can be easily concealed...But instead of understanding that everything is a trade off...We take that slim small easily concealed gun and then extend the mag,..extend the barrel length with a comp,..add a ŕed dot,...then all of a sudden,..its a full size gun...

Started fanny pack carrying last month. It's been extremely advantageous for being able to dress however and wherever I wish without any concern of printing or otherwise having my gun show.
In addition to comfortably carrying all my normal EDC, I've been able to carry other nice things like sunglasses.
The Vanquest Dendrite is the best CCW pack because it has all the organization for a gun and such but without the tactical look

One thing that is very vital when using a fanny pack, is the holster position. The muzzle be pointed down per safety rules. If its facing to the left or to the right and you are not alone in a closet, your firearm is violating rules. Check the pack to make sure it can accommodate your muzzle facing down. Thank you for sharing and be safe.

I've been carrying for over 40 years in every conceivable manner from small-of-back, shoulder, appendix, cross-draw, pocket, ankle, fanny pack, and now, for the last 12 years in a shoulder sling pack. For ME it's more versatile although, admittedly, not the most efficient or fast. I try to make up for the lack of speed by being ultra-aware whenever I'm out. I have many friends and family that are in LE and I associate with LE on a pretty regular basis. My point is, I've never had any of them question, "what's in the pack???" So off-body carry is a legit option.

I carried a glock 48 in a major water park this last weekend. Smart carry. Wore it under my trunks and over my undershorts. Sewn in a internal 'belt loop' to keep the smart carry strap from riding up the back.
Went down water slides and everything. Walked it right through security. Crap out if the pockets after it went off.
    Its really easy people.

For several decades, I cc fanny-packs made by 'Anderson©'... fabricated by a family in Sonora, California.
I visited their store-front shop, and watched the mom and granny constructing my packs to-order.
    .
Unfortunately, they closed around 2012 or so.
Fortunately, I buy bulk, so I had probably five in various sizes.
I own more than one because with my 24/7/360° use, I wear them out.
    .
    One advantage to their design:
    * the belt works like a standard belt holding-up your trousers, a complete circle, and the pack hangs on the belt
With that system, the pistol compartment lays flat(ter) instead of forced into the arc of my torso.
    .
After Anderson closed, I experimented with other packs, but nothing is built for the comfort, durability, and utility of an Anderson.

The main purpose for a fanny pack in my opinion, is to carry a concealed weapon, a spare mag, and identification. Used as such, it provides safe, reliable, and sure security access, should you have to use the weapon.
Most phones come with their own carrying clip. As far as anything else like books, drink holders, etc., they are best carried elsewhere or left at home.

My point is they are an available option made for carrying your phone separately from where you're carry your gun. That's much better, safer, and makes a hellava lot more sense. You'd think an experienced CCW holder would know that. I guess not.

if the fanny pack isn't casual looking it will stand out too. you want one in fun, social and fashionable colors. not black, grey, military green with tactical designs...

Depending on state law once you put that bag down then its no longer on your person which can be an issue.

When I walk in our safe suburban neighborhood, my husband still insists I take my carry with me. I'm small so it's small (Bodyguard), however exercise wear does not lend itself to carrying. My friend gave me a small over the shoulder bag. Hubs said I wouldn't be able to find my firearm. I said I can just use it in the bag if I have to, but I've never had trouble finding it.
