Hello 👋 I'm having an issue, when I was opening the account I got up to the step where they send an email to verify my email address. I didn't verify that day since I got busy, when I try verifying my email is asks me to sign in but it says "No Connection, Please Try Again Later." Therefore it doesn't not let me verify my email

hi..which broker that can give me direct ownership of us shares..bank broker like uob kay hian are nominee account so i dont have direct ownership when i buy us shares..not similar when i trade in bursa where i have my own cds account
Hi, brokers like IBKR allow you to hold US stocks with them directly, giving you the voting rights etc.
Other younger brokers like moomoo, rakuten trade etc. works pretty similarly too, but your US stocks with them is held in custody under IBKR.

Hi, no need business plan! Even with sdn bhd, there's no need for that, but you will need to choose the correct business nature :)

Have you tried converting from MYR to SGD first in Wise, then Send money from the Wise SGD account.
That will be much cheaper, as no transfer fee incur. Only one time wise conversion fee from MYR to SGD.
I only try experiment once wiith 10SGD to my Syfe account, so i might be wrong here. Do correct me.
Actually its the same ma, transfer fee or conversion fee is the same inside Wise

1. Sending 10 SGD directly from MYR to StashAway (SGD)
Cost me RM34.60 (including the balance transfer fee of RM2.17)
2. Convert from MYR to SGD, then send to StashAway
Cost me RM32.62 (including the conversion fee of RM0.19 and transfer fee is free)

Hi Wai Keong, I would actually recommend you Interactive Brokers instead! IBKR has removed their monthly inactivity fee so its the best option available. Moomoo is also a great alternative if you need to diversify your stock investment holdings :)

Hihi. I trying to open an account under MY, however I kept stuck at verification code. My line is using Digi and tried to click 'Send' many times but still didn't receive any SMS from them.
Hi there, that's actually a normal issue because they send SMS from Singapore. You can contact their customer support via WhatsApp (they should text you automatically) and they should be able to help you sort it out!

Hi ziet, would like to seek for opinion. In terms of safety, tiger, moomoo, rakuten or ibkr? I am thinking to make ibkr as main trading platform with moomoo or tiger (depends which is the safer) as alternatives to diversify my fund. Lastly, for long term investment that involve funding money on monthly basis, do you recommend moomoo/tiger or rakuten or ibkr for this purpose?
Hi, I would say IBKR as they have the most license and regulatory among the brokers here - Rakuten is just hinging on IBKR's backend to deliver their US stock trading.
I'm using IBKR as my main, and moomoo and rakuten as my secondary accounts for capital diversification purpose, the small fee on moomoo and rakuten trade doesn't hurt as a secondary account since most of my trades are still with IBKR.

Hi Lih Shien, you can always day trade but keep in mind PDT ruling applies if you trade with a margin account. For cash account, since there is cash settlement period, you can always day trade ;)
May I ask Malaysian still can sign up Moomoo Singapore? I've tried but it bring me to Moomoo US which I don't want.
Hi, i think cannot at the moment as it will reroute you to moomoo Malaysia, so for now can just sign up and wait for them to be fully licensed here :x

Hi seang, oh yep! i think recently they paused accepting Malaysian users as they are in final stage of obtaining full license from Securities Commission of Malaysia.
You can sign up now (but cant open trading account), but dont worry - give them a few more weeks and it should be ready by then!

Hi Jensen - you are probably referring to Foreign Telegraphic Transfer? That's an expensive route but of course not impossible to do, will definitely put it in my to-do list. (CIMB SG just allows for a more reliable and cheaper way to fund it, though opening an account nowadays takes a bit of time and patience).

You need to login via their mobile app, their website login will redirect to the app eventually
Hey Ziet, do you have any clue how to setup the transfer process from CIMB SG to other bank account? I'm currently having trouble to send money from CIMB SG to my Interactive Brokers account. The new update on the CIMB sg app has screwed everything over regarding the digital token, the message I get whenever I try to authorize a transfer is the following : " Enter OTP, 1. Press 'Sign 2' on your Security Device. 2. Key in '8323 9016' and Press OK. 3. Key in "750' and Press OK. 4. Key in the generated OTP. I'm really pissed of by how unhelpful this instruction is. I'm doing the transfer process on web desktop and my mobile device aka "Security Device" doesn't have anything that directs me to the authorization process listed. This has been so frustrating for me
Hi, it is indeed after their app update everything is reset. You need to setup the digital token again on the new app and you should be able to use your device as digital token, took me awhile to figure it out with a call to their customer support but all is good now
