      このスタイルの音楽は、メタルギターとシンフォニックサウンドを備えているため、西部ではシンフォニックメタルと呼ばれています。

Hello Kamichika [Voice Channel] ! Nightwish fans here, your musical quest summoned us.
Welcome to the world of symphonic metal! And thank you for checking this legendary band, performing at Wacken Open Air in 2013, together with Floor Jansen, the 3rd and present female singer of the band, in front of an 82K+ audience.
About the instrumental and vocal added parts - it's good to know they recorded their orchestral and vocal back tracks with prestigious institutions as London Philharmonic Orchestra. London's The Metro Voices choir group and London's Young Musicians Children's Choir as their regular partners.
As I saw, you enjoyed the powerful performance of the band. Hope you'll continue on this path.
Since this is your first Nightwish reaction, it is my duty to give you the [updated] short history of the band concentrated by Ann Waychoff, one of the biggest Nightwish fan who has since passed away (and I am doing this in her memory):
" Nightwish was started in 1996.They are considered a Symphonic Metal band, with a female main singer. They are from Finland.
Tuomas Holopainen, the keyboard player, composes and writes the lyrics for 95% of their music. [The 1st Bassist of the band was Sami Vanska, he was with them until 2001. The 2nd one was Marco Hietala, as Bassist and vocals, since 2001 to 2020. He recently announced his retirement both from the band and the public life for the next year at least - we'll see what the future brings to us. Then very recently (May 2021) Jukka Koskinen became the 3nd Bassist of the band, for at least the Human :II: Nature tour] And there is the guitarist Emppu Vuorinen . Then there is Troy Donockley from UK who is a multi-instrumentalist and vocals. Jukka Nevalainen is the drummer. In 2015 due to Jukka's health issues Kai Hahto became the drummer and as of now is a permanent addition.
Nightwish has had three singers. 1st one was Tarja Turunen (Operatic vocals). She was with them until 2005. The 2nd one was Anette Olzon from Sweden (Poppy, strong vocals). She was with them until 2012.The 3rd and current singer is Floor Jansen, from Netherlands (power, operatic, soprano.....most versatile) - you just heard her.
There are live concerts that you should use depending on what era. From Wishes to Eternity and End of an Era (Tarja), Montreux Festival live 2012 and Exit Festival (Anette), Live at Wacken 2013, Live at Wembley, Live at Tampere, Vehicle of Spirit, Decades live (Floor). I hope this helps.
I want to welcome you to the Nightwish community. I hope you like them enough to continue the journey. Believe me Nightwish will surprise you with their songs. You will never know what to expect. They are unbelievable live. I want to warn you that Nightwish fans are hard core. So be prepared. lol "
Hoping you'll continue this journey with us, I'll drop here a list of songs (with links) with the current lineup of the band you may like (please consider this list of links only as "a tip of the iceberg", an indication that they have a vast and very diverse repertoire, and not as something mandatory):

Last but not the least - they just released their 9th studio album on April 10th 2020 named "Human :||: Nature" - just take a peek to their official playlist: czcams.com/play/PLihZ3gi5Yvzc0pfH2cbNKUUX8o3pb8eVg.html (for example: "Shoemaker", the 3rd track from this album, tells the story of Eugene Shoemaker, one of the founders of planetary science, whose ash was sent on the Moon after his death, as a tribute from the scientific community ..)
The links presented above are with the current singer of the band, Floor Jansen, since I'm a fan of the recent era of the band, with Floor as the singer.
That being said, I will add here the message left the other days by some old fans of the band,
@Fabrizio Gorla: " To be fair to the old fanbase, you may want to include also some of these songs.

@@millerbeer01 Indeed. Our host understood very well the context of the symphonic metal genre, and how a singer like Floor can flourish here. I am convinced that he will continue to explore, and I am glad for that, because he is not conditioned by our European culture, so his opinions are "out of the box" for us. His observation about "the heat" in music is truly original.

I still think its a shame to call her a Valkyrie..
Since the meaning of a Valkyrie ( the real one, not the false hollywood version )
Is a dark creature of murder, betrayal, making deals out of greed and hate. dealing in souls and fates..
its not really flattering at all.. a bit like calling someone a troll ( not internet troll, but an actual troll )
The hollywood version of a great warrior in armor flying over the battlefield is not what a Valkyrie is at all.

@@mattijohansen3471 Maybe so, but words and descriptions do change over time. I understand your argument, but if the connotation in 2021 is positive, then I don't see a problem. If it expresses superiority (maybe even to male characters), outworldliness, strength and beauty, then I see no problem. Many words that have been used in the past have changed in their use.

    • @mattijohansen3471
      @mattijohansen3471 Před 2 lety +1

@@kimacronym2521 Not how it works. I get that is what people excuse it with. But people still follow the Ase faith where Valkyries is a part of. so the true meaning of them is still in use.
And just because people say the earth is flat, does not make it flat. it is still round.
Or if you invent a new car, and decide to call it a plane, it is really not a plane. it is still a car.
Words have a meaning, and the word Valkyrie is already used to describe a thing..
But again, I know I am not gonna change the minds of people, most does not care about history, and most does not care to change the things they have become set in or decided on..
However the point stands. calling her a Valkyrie is not a nice thing, so if anyone admire her they should not do it. just the same as if anyone called her a troll or I dont know, a witch a demon.. whatever. A lot would not be happy.

I am not sure if the world is as intellectual as you would like it to be though :-) In my experience half the world or viewers have very rudimental education....and much simpler things are difficult to convey...examples: Climate Change manmade, women's rights per se (See Texas law), or usefulness of vaccination against Covid. If you already find 50% of a given population to argue on these points, how would you expect them to understand the deeper meaning of "Valkyrie" ?

Welcome to the magical world of Nightwish !
ありがとうございました, this was really good reaction video. Enjoyed.
This type of music is called symphonic metal. It is not originally from Finland, but Nightwish has brought it to the attention of the general public and they are its biggest representative. It is also said that Nightwish is Finland's biggest export product in the field of music. But they are also big inside Finland. When they released their latest album, it was also reported on the main news program of Finnish TV. (YLE main news on TV, YLE is like NHK in Japan.) I think a lot of artists or bands don't get that honor ... ;)
Symphonic metal means you hear the symphony orchestra in the background of the band. Nightwish has used the London Symphony Orchestra and two different choirs (adults + children) in the background since 2004 (Fifth Album). If you’ve seen the movie The Lord of the Rings, there was the same symphony orchestra in the background music. Since that year, Nightwish has always used the same orchestra.
In a live situation, a symphony orchestra and choirs are played on the backing track. Here, too, you hear the symphony orchestra and choir in the background.
Most Finns really like the forest. I myself belong to that group. The best thing I know is to sit by a quiet lake next to a forest without hearing any man-made noise. The only sounds are the sounds of nature. There my heart rests in peace. I am one with nature...
    Greetings from Finland!

Metal music has about 30 different styles and more substyles. Nightwish belongs (mostly, but they do many styles) to Symphonic Metal (London Symphony Orchestra and choir).
Metal singers are usually more "schooled" because they rarely stay in one genre and have to "fight" loud aggressive instruments. Floor is probably the most versatile female singer in the world (proficiently sings in 10+ styles and 6 languages).

That's ridiculous because most latin rhythms are very upbeat, with fast paced and sensual dances and oftentimes very raunchy lyrics. So quite the opposite of cooling, I'd say.

Very interesting commentary my friend. The contrast in the heavy rhythm of the guitars, the ethereal keyboards, and the symphonic instruments behind Floor's beautiful and powerful voice is perfection. the extreme dynamics that Nightwish uses in their songs adds a powerful and dramatic effect as well. Tuomas (Keyboards) is the main composer for Nightwish. He loves the forest and all of nature. He grew up in a very small Finnish town surrounded by forests and lakes. Nightwish is a very different kind of heavy netal band. They play music that has beautiful vocal melodies and is actually happy instead of aggressive and angry. I think you will love many of Nightwish' songs. It really helps to have Floor Jansen, the Dutch valkyrie queen of symphonic metal as the lead singer. her voice make everything sound wonderful. See you soon I hope? Great reaction. Loved it. Be well.

Heavy metal, symphonic power metal, ballad, you name it ...each and everyone on the band is talented individual complimenting each other in so many ways to define their musical style as they see fit to deliver the waves of emotion beautifully in every song. Keep it up! Ouenshitemasu!

Very thoughtful and enjoyable reaction! A couple of the most notable words spoken: "…when I was listening to this song… I felt the image of the forest..." Great image! Your description of Floor's singing is one of the best articulated I've come across: "I feel something kind of noble or noble-hearted. I feel a kind of strength in her voice that is a little different… Her singing voice has such power."
You've started a very interesting journey should you choose to pursue it; you'll find Nightwish songs to be not so much written as composed with a complexity that is fascinating to experience. My life is richer for having found this band. Follow Gabriel's list, at least for the first four or so songs, it's very intentional in that it will expose you to a good range (note: Romanticide is one of their hardest metal songs but still so very melodic in its harshness which suits the story of a love gone really bad and of the need to get out of that relationship; and the ending?! Prepare to be left speechless). I've subscribed to hear more of your unique perspective on both Floor and Nightwish.

Welcome to NW Kamichika Voice Channel, you just met our 6ft Queen Floor Jansen (Dutch) 3rd and current frontwoman of the Finnish Symphonic Metalband NW. She is incredible. 10 Months earlier she came as a substitute for Anette Olzon, who became sick in the middle of a world tour and had to go to the hospital. NW called Floor and she said yes. She had to learn the setlist in 48 hours (there is a documentary about that) and did that on the flight from the Netherlands to Salt Lake City, where she joined the band on their way to Seattle for the next concert. GLS wasn't even on the list, but because she loved this song so much, NW put it on the list. The last part of the song the previous singer(s) didn't do, so she made it her own, with as result at Wacken 2013 this MASTERPIECE. When she belt so high, you got shivers or goosebumps we call that a FLOORGASM. Congrats with your first one. If you want to react to more of them go with the links Gabriel Bardac gave you for now. Greetings from the Netherlands South Division and enjoy the ride with us.

Loved your reaction to Nightwish and Floor Jansen. Tuomas (the keyboard player) writes most of the songs, sends the demo's to the rest of the band, who add their input before the songs are finalised. He also writes the symphonic parts of the music, sends it to Pip Williams at the London college of music who arranges it and the music is then pre-recorded by the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the London Metro voices choir. We call him the metal Mozart.
If you would like to have a glimpse of other metal singers then listen to Ayreon's The Day the World Breaks Down. Ayreon is a collaboration. Music written and produced by Arjen Lucassen, he can call on metal talent from all over the world and this song has 11 repeat 11 of the worlds best metal singers. It will give you a taste of what is available from metal.

Every life concert is fantastic. I recommend the the live version of "Ich will", "Sonne", "Mutter", "Rammlied", "Ich tu dir weh" and "Du hast". Everything else could be shocking, if unprepared. It was joked in the metal scene that half of the annual production of pyrotechnics were used by Rammstein, the other half were produced by Rammstein.

Greetings from the UK! Info dump for you below!😁
Nightwish is a glorious rabbit hole of awesome, with world class song-writing, musicianship and arguably (or unarguably to most who've heard her enough😉) the best female vocalist alive today (maybe ever), the Valkyrie Queen of metal herself Floor Jansen (pronounced Yansen). Floor is a classically trained soprano and has a vocal range of more than 3 octaves (D3 to F6+).
Floor is the third female vocalist that Nightwish have had (and my personal favourite), she was only with them on tour for 10 months at this point and officially joined the band in 2013, she is still with them today.
    The other vocalists are -
Tarja Turunen - (1996-2005) - (Finland) - Very operatic focused vocals.
    Anette Olzon - (2007-2012) - (Sweden) - More pop-centric vocals.
Floor Jansen - (2012-Present) - (Netherlands) - Extremely diverse vocals, from deep growls to full on opera.
The other band members are/were -
Tuomas Holopainen - Song writer/composer and Keyboards. (Finland)
Marko Hietala - Bassist and vocals. (Finland)
    Emppu Vuorinen - Guitarist (Finland)
Jukka Nevalainen - Drums (Finland) Retired in 2014 due to health issues
Troy Donockley - Multi-instrumentalist and Vocals. (United Kingdom)
Kai Hahto - Drums (Finland) - 2014 to Present
Floor herself is Dutch and is another glorious goldmine of awesome as she has a lot of non-Nightwish related stuff (including 2 other bands, After Forever & ReVamp) that she has done that is all pretty amazing as well. She is also an absolutely lovely, funny, smart and grounded person (in fact all the band members are exceedingly down to earth individuals). She has her own channel here on CZcams where she regularly posts covers of songs.
The band was formed in 1996 by lead songwriter/composer and keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen.
The name of the genre they generally belong to is Symphonic Metal but their discography is extremely varied.
The "Symphonic" backing tracks of their music is composed in the majority by Tuomas and performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
This was the 13th song in this particular set, Floor is belting notes like that the entire set.
Nighwish are almost always better experienced with live versions of their songs if at all possible.
Most new reactors are better off sticking with the Wacken 2013 set to begin with as it offers a taste of a lot of what Nightwish has to offer, they have multiple concerts though all of which are superb.
Some suggestions for more songs for you to continue your journey would be Storytime, Ever Dream, Song of Myself and Amaranth all from Wacken 2013 (pronounced Vacken).
Saying that, anything from Wacken 2013 is golden really to start, there's a reason why that set is pretty legendary at this point, 82,000 people were in attendance.
Beware of some messed up slowed down versions of the Wacken 2013 songs as they can take the energy right out of the performances, just check the comments on them and I'm sure someone will mention if it's a slowed down version.
Your choice obviously but I'd avoid Poet and the Pendulum and The Greatest Show on Earth for now until you are more familiar with the band and it's history, they will make a lot more sense and be more enjoyable for you that way.
Prepare for the Nighwish army to arrive and enjoy your Nightwish journey, I know I did!😎🤘

Hi! Welcome in the world of symphonic metal, welcome in the world of Nightwish! 🤘 They are from Finnland and started in 1996, Tuomas the keyboarder and one of the founder is the mastermind of the band, he write about 95% of all songs. "Ghost Love Score" is the perfekt song to start your Nightwish journey, every song is different and if you like what you see/hear there is so much more to discover! Floor is an unbelivible singer with a range from grawl to opera and the best female singer i've ever seen! I hope you will go deeper in the "Rabbit hole"! 😉 If your next song should sound in the way like this one than do "Nemo" next, a little more heavier than do "Storytime" or if you will see an really heavy song than do "Romanticide" or "Song of myself", all from this Wacken 2013 show. But the heaviest NW song is also always beautiful because Floors voice and how she sings it, you will be surprised in how many ways she can sing! Because many ask she's Dutch, 6.1 feet tall and the fans call her the northern valkyrie godess! I hope we see some more Nightwish reactions from you! If you would ask me i would say do "Storytime" from Wacken 2013 or "Sleeping Sun" from Tampere 2015 next. The 1st is a metal song but not one of the really hard songs and the 2nd is a very beautiful song with wonderful singing, i love Floors voice in that song!

Enjoyed your appreciation of Floor, our Valkyrie Goddess with Nightwish. Finnish symphonic metal, #1. Floor is from the Netherlands and classically trained. She sings opera, pop, metal in Dutch, English, German, and Spanish. A former vocal coach. Joined Nightwish in 2012 after former singer became ill.

Next song, Greatest show on Earth concert from Tampere and the video isn't over 'till it's over...Thanx for the English subs...and Japan also have amazing heavy metal bands like Lovebites / Swan song ( Asami's voice is "sugoi") Gyze from Sapporo / Oriental Symphony ( I normally don't like growling but this band does it really good), Unlucky Morheus / Black Pentagram ( Fuki's voice is very special) , Galneryus (Angel of Salvation ( live) .. Sho is Mister Clean Voice... Versailles / Faith and decision ( live) Kamijo? has a very interesting voice... Yousei Teikoku has a very special voice....and so on... maybe Scandinavia and Japan has something in common about Heavy metal... on purpose I left out X-japan, Show-Ya, Ningen.Isu, Shonen Knife and other bands that are awesome from Japan.

The Japanese are defenitely the coolest people on earth! ( Floor isn't from here naturally). Japan and Asia has a full music scene us westerners know very little about, but there's always room for Floor.

I really love your theory about music heat! 💜 That might actually have some truth. I believe it.
