Same, honestly. I planned to skip her from the very beginning and never looked into her kit too deeply. Now I find out about the sandbeast. Not only is the sandbeast incredibly cute, but I also wanted to get into specializing in a niche where I focus on ops that have deployable summons.

Just another case of being overshadowed by bigger banners. I too, want Ray despite having Pozemka, and Typhoon but its so risky to roll them now.

I know many saving up for Shu, the R6 Rerun and the W Alter banner so they're hard skipping Ray

arguement 1.) if I wanted to pull for all of them I'd need to spend money, and if I'm spending money it makes more sense to just buy her for 30 USD 9 months down the road.
argument 2.) if I do 300 pulls on W2 to spark a legacy limited, I get W2, logos, the legacy limited and have a non-zero chance of picking up off rates like Ray.

As much as I want her, I really have to save up for the limited banners (I started after R6 Collab).
I skipped typhon because I didn't care for her and her damage and didn't build my Poze because I have Schwartz. But Ray, has a pet, binds and pushes and has a fun quirk. Yep imma pull for her. Plus as an Aussie I gotta pull for the cute bunny Aussie.

I already have all the boss killers and Typhon, so Ray is not really necessary. I will do a 10x pull at most or skip the banner entirely. Remember we have upcoming limited banners, Shu and R6. I'm planning to skip the standard banners and pull for the limited ones.
Ugh, I just pulled for Degen and while I got hella lucky (26th pull!) I really need to save up for the uber-banner coming up. She seems super cool and up my alley but this is the worst timing I can imagine. Since she isn't limited it's a no-brainer to just get her later sometime and focus on the stuff that's much harder to pull.
Just thinking, if there will be a 3rd R6S Collab and Glaz is part of the roster, he would make an interesting Hunter subclass. Maybe his first skill will reveal invisible enemies and deal bonus damage to them, and his second would expand his range, increase his damage, target the enemy with the highest health, and rapidly mag dump the enemy with increased ASPD.
His talent may also be similar to Tachanka's S2, where he has a chance to either increase his damage or ignore enemy defense.
Had to look up the future banners and honestly, I believe I won't pull on anything other than limiteds (besides Ulpian and maaaybe the Ines+Hoederer one)
Mostly because I lack 2 ops from joint ops (and they're not particularly needed besides mlynar)
And I felt lucky since I got degenbrecher in 20 pulls, then fartooth from the new years banner in 20 as well so I gave Ray a try since she seems super fun
Got her... In 20 pulls as well, so barely a dent for my savings and helps me build up gold certs again

This is tough. I was planning to pull, but my Degen pull not going smoothly and i lost like 100 pulls before she came up.. After this there's Shu banner, and R6 rerun? We have so many great snipers already as well, I use Typhoon and Pozy. with the next R6 banner and Walter someone gotta sit in the bench..

Tough to decide. I want Ray, but I already have Typhon. But then again, having them team up and dominating stages sounds pretty funny. Also helps that I think she's got an Aussie accent like all the other bunny's.
I agree. Typhon and Ray are = in meta value but depending on the person, one could be better than the other.
Typhon is simpler, easier and deals more damage but Ray is more flexible, faster, better utility and better cycling (basically better at everything else) except she's slightly more complex.
And both Ray and Typhon are released in mini events too. I like to call them Scarlet and Violet of the snipers. But people would just much rather break the game with Walter than enjoy a slow-burn, savory, each-moment-counts gameplay
I'd say go for both, that honestly sounds like a fun strat, having both of them together to dominate stages and building around them so they can let loose.

wow her S2 is very impressive, not afk-ish though, but very fun (with big dmg and weird range.. and infinite!)
yeah, it aint afk, what it does is it changes her playstyle to become incredibly interactive and fun.
Ray in general is for players who want to enjoy every second of a stage instead of speeding through it
@@galeria_m I thought the same, I wish HG releases more interactive operators like this in future. I'm having a good time trying to refund her ammo all the time lol, is surprisingly fun
i really want her but i almost always get offrate in this game so ill just get her someday if im unlucky in limited banner.

When is the R6 banner happening? I want to roll for her but also wanna save up for the true limited stuff.
I got brutally screwed over in this banner. 50 pulls, three 6*, five 5* and NONE of them were Ray or Warmy. I'm not sure if those characters are even on the rate-up. I'm still recovering mentally from this pull session. And I only planned to do a single 10 pull, but the constant 6* baits got me to waste half of my pulls. Last time I bought the monthly headhunting pack, it's a waste of money.

What makes me happy is thatI got Ray last, which means my scout count is back to zero, a nice way to tell me that any standard pulls is just a gamble, would help me in the long run since the future standard units dont appeal to me much lol

Frosty forgot that you should pull her if you love interactive gameplay. Some people find it troublesome but it's actually a whole ton of fun for players who want to enjoy the game in every way possible.

Where's the story recap?
Typhon is the afk sniper and Ray is the mini-Wisadel. Despite Walter breaking through the meta, these two snipers are still pretty viable in their own way (Typhon with her S2 especially).
Typhon is a ranged-laneholder with really good damage on her afk-skill. Wisadel does not have this
Ray is a bosskiller and has good cc, and leak-catching capabilities, not to mention general utility and flexibility. Ray also has an insanely quick skill cycling that Wisadel can't rival. Ray can even solo a lot of stages which Typhon can't do in most cases due to how slow she is.
Of course this is all overshadowed by the sheer power of Wisadel's massive aoe nuclear bullets combined with her massive range and off-skill crowd-control with multi-attack, and summons that also attack and apply slow, as well as a permanent camouflage keeping her away from EVERY threat.
I've said this but while Wisadel is the strongest (operator) sniper in the game, Ray and Typhon share the second best spot together.
Typhon is stronger and simpler, Ray is better in everything else but more complex. Depending on the person, Typhon could be the second or Ray.
Most people go for Typhon since simplicity and ease-of-use is just THAT big but players that play for fun and LOVE to play around and good around, Ray is a crazy powerhouse who boasts utility, speed, cycling, flexibility and an interactively fun gameplay.
but Typhon has something MASSIVE that Ray could NEVER get no matter what she does.

Kind of hard to justify going after any other Sniper now that Walter exists, outside of very specific cases she kind of does everything you need

but yeah, altho you could still use Ray for that smaller downtime. Altho ngl at that point, I'd suggest Ash whos also really quick to cycle with a better range.
@galeria_m I like just easily winning more than any nuanced kit. Also the limited characters always look so absurdly cooler than normal 6 star ops a lot of the time and have live 2D. I'm not a waifu over meta guy. Either the unit is both or just the most powerful unit is what does it for me. I think surtr is boring and lame, but also the best thing ever.

By value, she's actually more useful than Typhon's S3.
Typhon DOES deal more damage with S3 and is simpler and easier to use but Ray is better at everything else. Cycling, Utility, Flexibility even Speed. She barely falls behind Typhon in damage too.
Ray is really just for the players who want to enjoy every second of the game and those who want to have fun in the tiniest of things.
