I've been getting a lot of questions about whether the CoverGirl Essence is a dupe for the Rose Inc or Chanel tints...I haven't tried either one of those so I'm not sure if they're dupes (they do look similar!). But I've heard that the Rose Inc. one had almost no coverage so in that way, I'm thinking it may be a bit different than the CoverGirl. 🥰🥰❤❤
I actually think that you would really love the Rose inc tinted serum! It provides medium coverage and feels and looks amazing on the skin. Natural and dry skin friendly. I would recommend applying with a brush, and shades appear darker in the bottle than they actually are! I am in the shade 6 in the rose inc tint, but usually light medium to medium in regular skin tints.
Did you like this product more than the Revlon Illuminance foundation? That's the next foundation I was planning to try, but maybe I should try the Essence.

Yes, yes, 100 times yes! I also love the drugstore makeup videos. I can’t afford and refuse to buy any upmarket makeup when there are reasonably priced products at the local store.
I didn't notice a smell at all. May be that I wasn't paying attention to that aspect due to being so impressed by the coverage and finish. I'll have to check today. BTW, I used a brush but then my fingers to smooth around my nose/eyes.

I find CVS has a lot of sales and coupons on covergirl as well as their extra care bucks etc so that might help with the cost. I’m finding drugstore prices aren’t really drug store at all anymore. It’s sad!!
The Cover Girl serum foundation looks interesting. I’m 51 and my skin has went from oily to combo. I’m sure at some point I’ll be completely dry. Anyway, I’ve always appreciated a more natural coverage and the fact that it has skin care in it is something I now look for in a foundation.

Me too! I have a 1/2 brow, where there's significantly more hair towards the bridge of my nose, than the middle/outer corner area, so I don't need to draw my hairs in 😅 This brow pencil works so well for me to fill in the sparse areas. Natural looking too🎉🥂💃
My first thought when I started your video was how pretty your eye brows looked! There is a softness to them. I think the color looks perfect on you. Then the skin tint, oh my! And then the bronzer and Revlon concealer! Great look today.

They have the same packaging as the Flower ones but those are more greasy and these have a dry powder finish! Also yes, the foundation is definitely steep but I'm guessing it'll go on sale pretty often...CoverGirl always does! 🥰❤️
My new favorite drugstore products are the Nyx Fat Oil Slick Click Lip Balms. The names are silly, but the formula is everything-moisturizing & opaque! I’m editing to add that I appreciate your recommendation of them!
I remember the lip stain markers and boy, they dried my lips out big time!! It was like the liquid used was alcohol. I have dry lips like you so I will, surely, steer clear of these. I saw the Covergirl Ageless Skin Perfector at CVS today. However, all the lighter shades were gone. Hopefully, I can run across them again as I'd like to give it a try.

The Revlon concealer is next up on my list to try! It looks incredible. That Covergirl skin tint looks beautiful! I know the price is up there for the drugstore BUT I think it's mostly skincare. So for the price, it could be replacement for serum and therefore save you money AND time. Just some food for thought. :)
I really love it when you use a headband while doing your makeup. I think it's much better, that way, you don't have to play with your hair. Emily Noel always has a headband when she does her makeup and I feel it's less distracting for the viewer. When I have very dry lipsticks, I apply a lipbalm before. It helps a lot. It makes it less dry on the lips. Maybe you could try to do that with the Covergirl's lippies. Love the drugstore videos. Thanks Jen. Happy Holidays
I’m with you about the elf eyebrow pencil, I have sparse brows so I am finicky with the pencils I use, the best ones that work for me are the brow wiz, the one by benefit, the brow blade(urban decay), huda, and the micro one by gxve. If I use a drug store, the best one so far that I have used is Nyx or L’Oréal, but I prefer the others.
Fully expected that CoverGirl foundation to be a flop, like those "self adjusting" Almay (& other brands) ones were. Wowie zowie does it look incredible on you though!!! I'll try it in January for sure!

I’ve had brow products and instead of the pencil getting used like I thought was happening, the barrel of the component was turning and allowing the pencil “lead” to retract. I can’t recall if it’s a NYX, Kiss Top Brow pencil or a Arches & Halos.

My favorite foundation lately has been the Revlon Oily/ Combo ColorStay. For some reason, the Oily/ Combo one is SO much better than the dry skin version! 🤷🏼♀️
I saw that foundation, it looks like the Jane Irandale, also pricey for Covergirl, it does look beautiful on your skin. I have two of the Florence by Mills blushes and they are amazing 💕
I like the elf pencils, but, if it was someone with a thinner brow (or have never enjoyed the powder trick) the nyx lift and snatch will likely be more up your alley. And yeah, elf dulls out easy

That cover girl skin tint reminds me of the Chanel water fresh tint. The slightest coverage. Rose inc makes one similar but it is more dry than the Chanel. I love the Chanel one and use it every time I wear makeup so I will have to try this cover girl one.
I have dark brown hair but my brows are more like a charcoal color. Whenever I get dark brown brow shades, they’re always way too warm. If I get black they’re always way too dark. I’ve find I have to get grey (as long as it’s like a light black and not like silvery grey 😂), charcoal, etc. type shades. If they don’t have a shade like that, I’ve just stopped getting them because I used to just get dark brown and it just never works for me! Black I can sometimes make work if I am really careful with a really light hand, but I don’t want to have to be so careful with it! It already takes me long enough to do my brows and actually like them enough to leave them 😅

Jen! A drugstore video- just what the Dr ordered. I found a Garnier Filler which is a bonder- smells lovely! I will probably pick up some other Garnier hair stuff♥️ That CG foundation looks like the Chanel foundation tint- with the beads. Not good for sweaty or oily people. The Milani bronzer looks edible!
This might be different than the Chanel one...I heard that didn't have much coverage and this one surprised me. It also wasn't oily or greasy so it might be okay for oily skin types...it dried right down and didn't leave a dewy feel.❤️🥰

Yeah the loreal is a serum concealer so I expected it not to be full coverage. Kinda reminds me of the nyx serum concealer. And the revlon says full coverage and reminded me of their 5 in 1 with caffeine colorstay concealer!

I hate it when lipstick wears away unevenly like that! I threw out a beautiful Revlon lipstick last year because it did that; it looked so weird after just a few hours. I love a good lip stain, though, because my lips are usually a pale lavender color that makes me look slightly ill.
Great review. The revlon concealer seems more what I like. It looked really nice 7 hours later. The foundation really looked nice on you. The drugstore is really coming out with so many good products.

I think the cover girl lip markers could be good as lip liner with a gloss on top. That’s how I use the Palladio marker lip pen! Makes for a nice long lasting lipliner without drying out your lips!
Just ordered the foundation, and about to purchase the blush on Ulta after I decide on a color, using your links! Just one way I am able to support your channel that I so dearly love! I love that the blush lasted so long! Blush disappears so quickly with my dry skin. I also do not like lip products that leave that ring. Too bad the milani lip glosses do not have some lighter pinkish colors. But thats ok, I love their fruit fetish ones!

Exactly! I also get the "alcohol" feel from them...I didn't check the ingredients but I wouldn't be surprised if alcohol is in there.

I did use a lip balm underneath the CoverGirl lipsticks but they're still awful!

I think the Milani actually carved out your face and warmed it up it's almost like it's a bronzer Contour hybrid

Palladio at Sally has a lip marker its good not drying,stain lasts...rose n nude are faves...I put gloss over n looks natural😊

That cover girl skin tint reminds me of the Chanel water fresh tint. The slightest coverage. Rose inc makes one similar but it is more dry than the Chanel. I love the Chanel one and use it every time I wear makeup so I will have to try this cover girl one.

I really enjoy the regular elf brow pencil, but I haven’t tried the waterproof version.
I have dark brown hair but my brows are more like a charcoal color. Whenever I get dark brown brow shades, they’re always way too warm. If I get black they’re always way too dark. I’ve find I have to get grey (as long as it’s like a light black and not like silvery grey 😂), charcoal, etc. type shades. If they don’t have a shade like that, I’ve just stopped getting them because I used to just get dark brown and it just never works for me! Black I can sometimes make work if I am really careful with a really light hand, but I don’t want to have to be so careful with it! It already takes me long enough to do my brows and actually like them enough to leave them 😅

Jen! A drugstore video- just what the Dr ordered. I found a Garnier Filler which is a bonder- smells lovely! I will probably pick up some other Garnier hair stuff♥️ That CG foundation looks like the Chanel foundation tint- with the beads. Not good for sweaty or oily people. The Milani bronzer looks edible!
This might be different than the Chanel one...I heard that didn't have much coverage and this one surprised me. It also wasn't oily or greasy so it might be okay for oily skin types...it dried right down and didn't leave a dewy feel.❤️🥰
I’m curious if that skin tint builds up well. I’d love to see if it can withstand another layer.

Try the ELF Ultra Precise brow pencil, it has a smaller tip and is a firmer pencil.

Yeah the loreal is a serum concealer so I expected it not to be full coverage. Kinda reminds me of the nyx serum concealer. And the revlon says full coverage and reminded me of their 5 in 1 with caffeine colorstay concealer!

I hate it when lipstick wears away unevenly like that! I threw out a beautiful Revlon lipstick last year because it did that; it looked so weird after just a few hours. I love a good lip stain, though, because my lips are usually a pale lavender color that makes me look slightly ill.

Great review. The revlon concealer seems more what I like. It looked really nice 7 hours later. The foundation really looked nice on you. The drugstore is really coming out with so many good products.

Jen, you might want to try the Neutrogena brow pen. I love it! Really nice hair like strokes and not gloppy like I've found with some brow pens.

I think the cover girl lip markers could be good as lip liner with a gloss on top. That’s how I use the Palladio marker lip pen! Makes for a nice long lasting lipliner without drying out your lips!
Btw that new elf tubing mascara is FANTASTIC!! Now anxious to try that Milani Bronzer, you never steer me wrong 🤗

Just ordered the foundation, and about to purchase the blush on Ulta after I decide on a color, using your links! Just one way I am able to support your channel that I so dearly love! I love that the blush lasted so long! Blush disappears so quickly with my dry skin. I also do not like lip products that leave that ring. Too bad the milani lip glosses do not have some lighter pinkish colors. But thats ok, I love their fruit fetish ones!
