The Amiga is one of the reasons why I miss the 90s. I wonder if anyone else feels the same way.
i remember playing james pond back then with my uncle computer. funny, i don't know back then that james pond is play of word 'james bond' hahahah
Same with Robocod being a play on word of Robocop, I literally had no clue at the time.
My A600 died only just last year :'( I sure wish that they'd make more games like the Amiga had.
Nba and WWe also
i still have my original Amiga 1200 working today, me and my brother collect retro computers, we own several 500's, 600, 1200's, cd-32, all of them running as new....we just love Amiga, those were the days....
1991, I was 14 years old and I was the happiest teenager with my Amiga and my box full of games. My heart has jumped several times while watching this video.
I remember watching this video when it was just a year old....time flies man...the retro feel of this video is amazing
a year old ? Why, how old is it now let's see... OH MY. Right. Yes, time does fly eh.
RIP Laffer. Sending Love to you.
I loved North & South... great mixture of strategy and arcade game...
The good old days ❤ I recommend a video on my channel ❤ *Echa Ekranu* ❤
That "WAAAAA!" sound in Rick Dangerous always cracks me up :)
Every genre, every style, everything that's come since can trace it's heritage back to this awesome machine..
RIP laffer35, your videos will still live on.
I am sure, my A500+ also misses me today, while he found its place at Commodore Valhalla. Rest in 16Bits, my dear friend.
Really puts me in the mood for playing my old Amiga again. They were great days.
Syndicate: 4 floppy disks of awesome
New generations will not under stand what you are saying.
Those were the days, life seemed so simple back then... I'm gettin all misty. 😥
add being thrown into a parallel universe and you know what`s up.
It was probably simple because you were a kid and now you're an adult.
@@QuasiELVIS That is definitely a big part of the reason. Can't believe I hated school. We had it so easy and didn't even know it. :)
QuasiELVIS life is simple. We as adults just make it complicated.
@@greenkitty82 nothing changed for me, just more money. I play every day oldschool and new games
This terrific game list brought back memories big time. I practically had them all minus maybe 5-7 of them. Many of these games i had completely forgotten about but alot of them has stayed with me to this day. Thank you very much for making this list
So much nostalgia.. I miss my childhood! Amiga music has always done something for me inside :)
What a trip down memory lane - I must have played like 90% of those games. Great video for us old-boys gamers.
I've played almost all of these games. Golden times!
Rest in Peace Buddy & Commodore Legend ;(
The Amiga was the best computer/gaming experience I ever had. Even now with all the modern-day tech like XBox One, PS4 and NVidia/AMD GFX based PCs, games fail to inspire me as much as it used to back in the day on my A500.
Probably because you were about 7 years old.
Amiga was ahead of its time.
They had good sound and colours but they were still slow as hell.
There were accelerators to boost the 3D games but anything else in 2D already ran way smoother than in the best PCs of the time.
@@QuasiELVIS At release 1985 it was an amazing machine, better than anything on the market... problem was they hardly improved upon it throughout the years. So yes, other formats caught up and then bypassed it, but it took several years.
Too bad Commodore themselves weren't in terms of how to run a damn business.
Sorry this video seems to have ads now, I certainly never enabled that.
ad block pro,
no ads on my interweb experience
Sc0ttynzl و
laffer35 an adblocker makes Your day - I dont see any ads :D
laffer35 If anything, ad income should go to you, not Google. I guess the music was found in youtubes song-database. You can contest that claim if you want.
+laffer35 No hate just a question, but is some of this gameplay taken from the Megadrive/Genesis or DOS versions? Sometimes the color just seems more than the 32 color Amiga could exhibit.
This is incredible to see... brilliant video and as everyone has said so many great memories
Such an amazing nostalgia trip! I spent my childhood playing theseostly alone tho, its weird to think so many others enjoyed the same games
*****
That's fun. I was thinking just the opposite! So many things have changed in these years... :-)
I loved my Amiga too! Cannon Fodder.... So many evenings spent playing that before bath and bed time!
I can recall the smell of 3,5'' discs
The weird thing is that despite these games being much simpler and with weaker graphics than todays games, they were also much more fun and stimulating to play.
Because you were a kid and there wasn't anything better. How is that not obvious?
@@QuasiELVIS Its more than that, there wasn't anything else period. These were some of the first games ever made and yes there were a lot of generic samey type games but also developers tried new and interesting stuff all the time. This was the golden age of games where all the genres and ideas we see commonly today were created and defined. It's all been done now so there will never again be that sense of amazement at seeing new things.
@@QuasiELVIS it's not just that.
Because the graphics etc was limited, the game developers was pushed to be creative, effecient and make good gameplay with what they had.
Computer games are a far far bigger industry now than then. There are more games made with larger budgets by larger studios with more experience that are played on better hardware.
I roll my eyes so hard every time I see this rose tinted bullshit.
Yea you're never going to get it if you think its about quality. Its about the feeling you got from something new like how when a cool new game comes out now it feels good to play it. Imagine that feeling but multiplied by a huge factor because the entire genre is new. You're entitled to think otherwise and of course because if you werent part of it youre probably never going to understand it anyway.
EPIIIIIIIIIIIICCCCCCCC I GOT LIKE 80 FROM THESE 100 GAMES. JUST WANNA GO BACK TO THAT AGE!
Have watched this video a fair few times and never got bored of it, very nostalgic and the music is excellent.
I played around 75 of these games with my brother and friend as a kid. The Atari ST and Amiga hold a fair share of my childhood memories. The music is what really makes me feel nostalgic.
Ah, now I have to fire up WinUAE again :)
Awesome collection of Amiga games - only 23 of them I didn't play as a teenager! Like another guy wrote I also used to sit in my room playing Amiga games rather than being out in the sun ;) Of course the graphics and sound wasn't as impressive as many games today, but the gameplay in many Amiga games was amazing! Still love that machine
What no GODS by the Bitmap Brothers?
loved this video for years, R.I.P Laffer35
lie facts What do you mean? Has he passed away?
Yes sadly took his own life 3 years ago i believe
SeanOO7s That is unfortunate
no fucking way...I loved his videos poor guy :(
Thanks for this. Brought back some memories. It's amazing how you forget some things over time, and then just seeing a 5 second clip brings back memories.
This sure brings back memories.
OMG RICK DANGEROUS!!! I used to LOVE that game!! This film takes me back-thank you!!!
I love this video - awakes so many great memories of me and my brother playing on our Amiga 500 :)
you're so lucky you actually got the chance to experience this when it fist was available in 1985 I had no idea the amega computers could do all this... far superior to the xt pc dos computers
@@bjtaudio These games are more like early 90s, not 85.
The good old days ❤ I recommend a video on my channel ❤ *Echa Ekranu* ❤
Great days! I loved my amiga and spent hour after hour playing these great games! 90s ruled!!!
Amiga 500 had the best games ever. I remember buying arcade joystick and buttons, and making my own arcade joystick using 4x4 wood and some engineering. European football champ, that ship docking game (can't remember the name), that airplane game (the one that iPad now has), racing game (it was either Jaguar or Lamborghini), and of course my face 2 of the greatest Amiga games ever: Sensible World of Soccer and Another World (Xbox now has it yaay). 90s games matched the perfect 90s music, movies, food, culture, everything basically we had. 90s will always be the greatest era of all time!
Selling my Amiga was the biggest mistake of my life :(
Tell me about it :(
I regret doing the same every day. A500 with the 1084S monitor, extra drive, and RAM, all looked like new, in the boxes. And my large collection of games. Arrrg.
Did the same with my C64.
At least we have emulators though!
Me too... :(
not for me sold it at the right time, got more than twice for it when i sold it.
mind you it was the amiga 500 can't remember if it had extra memory but
it had an extra diskdrive which as i remember it cover the whole table.
thanks for seeing my childhood again. nice work
WOW....So Glad you put these together so many memories!!
This is a beautiful time
Here the beginning of the technical
I just bought an Amiga off of eBay. Can't wait to get it, I'll play all these games probably starting with Dune 1+2 :)
DUNE 2 Its great ;-)
You could have just played them on a cheap PC with an emulator. I almost finished Superfrog a few months back.
Amiga was amazing.
+Brad Tyler 6k people disagree with you
Well at the time, it was the funnest most clever machine I had ever played on. For me, it still represents the sweet spot in home computer gaming. Just enough sophistication, and still heaps of the creativity that marked the 8bit-16bit era. Nothing has been quite as fun since.
It still is...
No point showing Games without their fabulous sound tracks
I realise this is an old post but thank you for making his video upload and I must admit it made me very nostalgic and thank you for your video editing work.
god bless you mate and i hope you and your family are doing well:)
cannon fodder , cannon fodder 2 , lemmings , lemmings 2 , the settlers , turrican , turrican 2 , another world , dune , dune 2 , flashback , lotus turbo challenge 2 , moonstone , super cars , super cars 2 , chaos engine , super frog , blues brothers , lionheart , dyna blaster , ruff 'n' tumble , double dragon 1 , 2 , 3 , bubble bobble , SWIV , yo! joe! , shadow of the beast , battle squadron , desert strike - return to the gulf , prince of persia
great games!
ports of call ;-)
Amiga.......such greatness!
Unforgivable, you forgot Frontier Elite, Lost Patrol, Persian Gulf Inferno, Panza Kick Boxing, Battle Chess, Hostages, Barbarian, Golden Axe, Wings of Fury, Gods, Elvira, Micro Machines, Hollywood Poker, Firepower, Silkwork, and Jimmy White's Whirlwind Snooker. What the heck, man? :) I'll forgive you, though ... here, got yourself a like.
Nice memories. I hade forgotten almost all of those games except a few, but I have played almost all of them. It all came back to me now. Thanks for this great videomontage! :)
Ita a shame you didnt keep the original sounds from the games that would have made this video soooo much better.
I miss the old days, being a kid and playing darkseed, chaos engine, aphidya etc.
They were the best days. Gaming these days for the most part sucks. Yeah their are some great games that can last a while but back then games seemed way more unique. Everything is so generic today. You can find a thousand games that are basically the same but have slightly different physics, skins and music.
Back then, every game you'd play was more unlike any of it's close competitors than is true of today.
I'm not saying it's not better today and maybe it's just nostalgia but i loved the pre genesis days. Mario and sonic are great and created a revolution but they were also the beginning of a tedium and repetition that trickled down into virtually every genre. Maybe I'm over stating it a bit and i wouldn't prefer not to have those games, but damn, those were the days of creativity.
I mean, just look at loom, exile, another world or zool. Now every indie game seems so forced and try-hard.
I agree as someone who grew up with Amiga but there are some decent indie gems out there currently. Check out death road to Canada, Cuphead, Celeste, Deus ex, vampire the masquerade bloodlines, hades, alien: isolation
Out of these 100 games there's only 14 I never heard about, not bad at all! :D
Hands up for having included Black Crypt! An underrated masterpiece!
I think Dungeon Master, Menace and Tower Of Babel should have been included to give a perfect spectrum of all the great Amiga games.
From 8 bit to 16 bit, C64 & Amiga. Best gaming era in history of all digtal epoch.
Bullshit. Some modern games are epic.
i remember a lot of those games.. I wish amiga time back :P
thx bro! :D
oh man, nostalgia overload
man i have played sooooooooooooo much from these games till the end
and today its just like "looks cool, lets test it" then one hour later "neeext!"
nice video man :)
Awesome video man! U left out a bucnh of classics too, but how could you not! The Amiga was the best gaming platform ever with tons of awesome games, and might still be.., yeah ok we got better gfx etc today, but the puzzles, mood and gameplay - Not to mention the satisfaction when you finally got past a point you were stuck for weeks on is still something to be matched by todays games!! :) Grade A nostalgia trip here m8! ;)
Lets keep this Video alive, R.I.P Laffer35
hey ***** surly nothing is worse than death mate. Chin up and chip tune on. :)
MOONSTONE RULES !!!!!!
david filippi buggy as hell tho
Moonstone was the game that made me buy an Amiga when I saw it running in a shop. Blew me away with its violence 😄
Man, the nostalgia ...
Personally, I'd add Duck Tales, Kult, Civilization, Great Giana Sisters, Oil Imperium, Fire & Ice, this Pizza-shop game I forgot the name of, Bard's Tale (III), California Games, Sim Ant, Battlechess 3D, My Neighbor Ate my Hamster, MadTV, Dragon Wars, Barbarian, this apocalyptic drive around to stores searching for fuel to end up in an car wars arena-game ...
Good times.
Flood. Wings of Fury (colinwashere). Gobliiins. Elite.
So many great games.
Great job annotating your video! So helpful, I went crazy trying to find out what each game was when I first saw the vid even with that list.
Nice film. Where is Jaguar XJ220. Music from that game is amazing.
Awesome vid bud, a few awesome classics left out, but I guess you only had 10 mins!
Dungeon master I didn't see sadly
Cannon fodder and Alien Breed and north and south and syndicate..so many happy memories there. Also used to love the Speedball series on that.
RIP Laffer
shufflepuck cafe anyone?!!?
Awesome game, a classic!!
The music brings back memories... So much that I can't handle anymore. Why can't man live forever.
Cheers for the nostalgia trip. Some of those games still hold up today.
AMIGA my love ;)
Where is Hostage, Dogs of War, Wings of Fury, Tarders, Firepower, Boulder Dash, Buggy Boy, Golden Axe, Marple Madness and Giana Sister??? Beside that: Great memory of my childhood! Played roughly 70% of those games!
Agree. But Wings of War should have been banned for those endless dogfights... xD
Speedball II and IK+, amazing two player gameplay that has not yet been equalled!
best video on youtube. i love it and keep coming back to watch it regularly :)
Geez, what has it been? 20, 25 years?
yes :( but the good thing is my 3years old loves this games :D
Good times
I would have loved the Amiga as a child, my first computer was a 80386 but this one still looks a 100 times more appealing!
Still watching in 2020... That's crazy 😁
My fav was Sensible Soccer.
Mine too!
Best football game ever
Amiga better fitted for games than 286-386 PCs
So many memories... this will never come back...
+Michał Tomczak Yes it can! I just bought myself an Amiga 1200 off from eBay. Delivery in a week or so :)
this is an amazing video all my childhood memories come flooding back.
the amiga was such a cool computer, my fave games were Turrican 2, the dizzy series, and Elite.
All these games were free as well 😂 well I'm assuming nobody bought games - just got copies?
Is still have an Amiga500 and an Amiga1000, and some 300+ games, I think. Nearly all of the ones in this video.
+antiHUMANDesigns do you have the chip upgrade?will u sell?
Paulie I have an internal RAM upgrade, aswell as an external module that provides another 2MB RAM. As I remember it, I also ahve 2 external floppy readers to avoid having to swap so often.
I'm not sure what "chip" you're talking about. Is that what you mean?
Yes, I would probably sell it. That's the A500.
The A1000 has a monitor and a 500MB HDD.
Last I checked, they both worked perfectly.
My collection of floppy disks, however, seem to have deteriorated over time. At least half of them can't be read anymore, it seems. I guess they lose their magnetism over time?
Completely forgot about most of these and I think I had nearly all of them O_o .....wondering if I wasted my youth with a gaming addiction now. Still....loved those days. Cannot believe the change in graphics from then to now. Mindblowing.
amazing video, thanks for putting them together. Fav game was defender of the crown and had completely forgotten about it!! loads of games on there i still have boxed up in the attic :)
MISS.....
Gobliiins 1
Gobliiins 2

So nice memories! Thanks for the upload, great video!
Congrats for this video and the music, excellent both decisions.Thans!.
Some decent games on here but youa missed the best 3 out of the whole lot: The Lost Vikings, Civilization and Elvira 2.
Laffer35 . You use brillant games & brillant musics. This video will epic for 100000 years xDDD Sorry .100 years max. Amiga players die :( Me too .... :))))) History stay forever and Amiga too! :)
OMG! Sooo much nostalgia! Missed a couple of classics though like Kid Gloves and Atomic Robokid
Awesome video. I probably had about 90% of those games. It would have been nice for some of the sounds of the games too. Good job !!!
Amiga games released after 1990~1991 has no difference with Dos games.
there is a difference amiga resolution: 320x256 pix - DOS 320x200
That's not true, it very much depends on the games.
There are plenty of games released in 1990 & 91 that are far superior to the PC versions, and several platformers that PCs would definitely struggle with.
Of course, in the early 90s, the PC had many games the Amiga would struggle with as well, but the Amiga was generally still better at fast paced 2D games.
Have seen Turrican2 for PC nad Amiga, looks on PC much better. I think it depends what Grafikmode ist supportet. The early 90s, PC was eaten by amiga... look at Dune. But with the first 3D Games, the game turns...
Turrican 2 for DOS was released several years after the Amiga version.
Yes thats true, Turrican2 was just an example of what the pc can do some times later.
You missed civilization
Nice work man!
Memories from the past...... So old
Awesome video man, brings me back to my youth!
the only one computer that gave me happiness playing games, the best gaming computer. still love playing on it.
You are a STAR! Was bugging me soo much trying to remember what this game was from all those years ago.. and you have it in your list :P Chaos Engine!! Thank you!
Immediately remembered the games titles. Haven’t seen these for 30 years or so. Rick Dangerous my friend!!! :)) hahaha
Classic stuff! Cheers for uploading this nostalgia :)
I'm 46 years old now
