🙋🏼 ABOUT ME: My name is Alyona Yarushina, or Aly. I was born in Russia, and I am a singer, a musician,
I play the piano and do many arrangements myself, I’m in love with 80s and 90s rock. In Russia, I played with several bands. One of them is the best Led Zeppelin tribute band in Russia called "Plumbum Dreams". The other one is called "Back from the USSR", where we played Beatles songs in my own arrangements. We played in Liverpool, England almost every year on the Beatles week fest. My dad, Valeriy Yarushin is my bass player in this band. He's a legend of Russian folk-rock and his band “Ariel” was most popular in the 70s and still is now. I learned a lot from him.
In 2004, I won the “International Hopes of Europe” competition in Sochi, Russia along with the “Grand Prix” prize for singing I Have Nothing by Whitney Houston.
During my career, I had the opportunity to perform with great artists such as Chick Corea, Chris Slade (AC/DC drummer), Ryan Roxie (Alice Cooper guitarist), Innes Sibun (Robert Plant's guitarist), David Campbell (musical producer and arranger of Muse and Adele), Brian Tichy (drummer for Whitesnake, Billy Idol, Foreigner, Ozzy Osborne), Hal Bruce and others.
I like a lot of different song styles like rock, pop and jazz. I love classic rock.Bands like Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Boston, Oasis, Jeff Buckley, Vixen, Janis Joplin, Aerosmith, Guns'n'Roses, Bon Jovi, Scorpions, Winger, Skid Row, Sandy Saraya and others.
For some of my covers I do full MIDI instrumentals by myself using an M-Audio Oxygen MIDI keyboard. I also do all the back vocals & mixing and mastering by myself using Logic Pro.

Now that ladies and gentleman is what you call a great singer singer!! Alyona is, in my opinion, the absolute best female artist alive today. Her numbers don't reflect her talent, ability to cover almost any genre and do it with such heart and soul. You really get to FEEL the music when she's singing. Romane I’m just gonna say this hoping it’s constructive cuz I’m huge on Aly....a beautiful voice is simply not gonna cut it as amazing as it is I mostly get her voice not really her at all in terms of personality magnetism minuscule facial fluctuations if this can be conveyed it would have an amazing result also music videos might be a good compensation
Maybe if "Aly" would credit the right person for a song, she might get more recognition.
I always love it when I see that expression on the singers' faces when they sing those extra difficult notes and they know they just nailed it, and there is this smile that you can't really see but you just know it is there. It is so precious.

С самого начала с огромным нетерпением ждал 2:40, но такого не ожидал, аж на слезу восторга пробило, как малолетнего пацана :) На 3:50 просто расплылся в улыбке, настолько хорошо, вот многие коду как-то упрощают, голос у всех к этому моменту подсевший, какой-то уже бессильный, что вполне объяснимо, а Алёна настолько профессионально всё сделала. что только порадоваться за неё, и за себя, что могу чувствовать вот такой крутой кайф, всего лишь навсего глядя на дисплей.
Много каверов I Will Always слышал, как наверно и многие здесь. Такой- впервые. Даже трудно согласиться, что это кавер. 100% ощущение, что это оригинал бутлег, просто почему-то Whitney немного изменилась внешне, ну- бывает .

When this song came out I was starting another chapter in my life, one of my favourite actors Kevin Costner and I was heartbroken when Whitney died. I've heard loads of covers in talent shows etc but this version is by far the best by Altona.

Bravo, Aly - that was abolutely flawless.
Not just musically, although even that would be a huge accomplishment - but in how you convey the passion through the music.
I've heard so many people attempt this song on the various "got talent" shows, but you put every one of them in the shade. Your tonal and dynamic range, control, as well as the emotion you convey through your voice put you in a class of your own.
It is a great tribute to Whitney, far more than just a vocal excercise.
Of course, after your previous five (? I make it more than that, as you've certainly got a video of a live performqnce of "Step by Step") covers of Whitney's songs, those of us who have been following you for a while (or binge-watched through your channel more recently) knew this would be amazing, and you didn't disappoint us.
This and the original Whitney Houston cover of Dolly's original (which I also remember, although it wasn't the huge hit here in the UK that it wass in the US) are the only ones that can wet my cheeks, it really is that good.

And yes, you are a musician of the highest quality, but listen back over some of what you've recorded - your strongest and most unique talent is your voice, and it is as a singer that you shine the brightest, whether you consider yourself one or not. They aren't mutually exclusive, but complementary talents.
And I've seen those live clips, too - you can work an audience, have them clapping and stamping their feet in time, dancing for joy, or in tears, and that combination of abilities makes you perfect to lead a band - whether from behind a keyboard or standing behind a microphone.
By the time you get your album of original work out, my fingernails will be chewed to the knuckle in anticipation!

David Johnson Did you know when Whitney did it, it was a cover of a Dolly Parton song? Who first sang it on tv in 1974. Then later she recorded it for one of her movies with Burt Reynolds. Now Whitney nailed it, but Dolly wrote it and performed it at least 18 years prior.
The original was Dolly Parton. Not Whitney Houston. Please give credit where it is due.

I knew that you had said that you play piano, so when the first side image appeared, that made sense to me... and then came another and another, with different hand positions and some with very _very_ basic notes... Then the realization: she is playing all of the instrumentation - even the percussion - on the midi herself!!!!
