- Davros, the creator of the Daleks, has had many different life support chairs during his long life. In this video, we attempt an overview of each of these chariots of evil.

The original chair will always have a certain appeal...but the new series design really is *perfect*
Still recognisably Davros, just militarised to fit with the Bronze Daleks
You can totally believe that's a Davros who fought in the Time War (however briefly)
My favourite version of his chair is the most recent version as I think it looks more like a life support system then the older versions .
I'm waiting for Davros to build himself an Eggmanesque giant Dalek mech. :P
I could imagine Eggman in Davros' chair, especially the SatAM Robotnik version of the character.

I wonder what his chair would have looked like if the paradigm Daleks had stayed on the show, or whether Davros would even have reappeared.
It appears I’m not the only one to wonder that.
@@cardinalhamneggs5253Shame they backed down on that storyline when a few big mouths with limited imaginations got out of their prams over it. Still, there's always the chance that the so called "power ranger" Daleks, and even the Cult of Skaro might return. Let's hope so.
@@fredfredrickson5436 There's no chance the power ranger Daleks are ever returning. And that'll be your explanation for their demise, not the lack of imagination from fans.
My favourite is the Series 4/9 chair - like the new Daleks, it just looks more robust.
not a chair but I actually really liked the head tank idea in Revelation, thought it was super creepy!
The way his head swivelled around! Still makes me shudder.
One of my favorite lines from the "I' Davros" Big Finish series is when Davros is temporarily separated from his chair in the Kaled medical bay, and he says this:
"I am... Lying down." He continues with "It has been some time since I've felt clean linen against my skin, or a Pillow beneath my head."
Kinda like Mr. Freeze or Darth Vader, cybernetic characters lose touch with the simple things like a breeze in your face, or the warmth of sunlight. They can't enjoy those things anymore.

Honestly I don't know if this is true, but I heard once that Davros' chair might very well be the most effective life support system in the doctor who universe. There's a genuine irony to how good Davros is at keeping things alive when he's motivated to do so
My favourite is a tie between the most recent one and the imperial dalek davros
The time war chair is a nice update to the classic look, but I would have liked to have seen it done to the emperor dome version instead with a gun and claw arm built into the front of the dome rather than removing the top layer of bumps on the skirt.

Though if the paradigm stayed i wander if he would've had a paradigm chair as it would fit in

I’ve seen someone do fan art of that. The way it looked to me it was so large that the actor playing Davros would be standing up rather than sitting down. So i imagine it would look awkward trying to make it look like Davros isn’t just walking around all over the set wearing a massive skirt.
You know, I've always thought to myself why doesn't Davros just mass produce his life support system, then he could have been remembered as a hero instead of a villain

I prefer the original chair design used from genesis till revelation as it doesn’t just look like a humanoid plunked into the bottom half of a daleks skirt, it’s the clear inspiration for the daleks casing. I also like that the hemispheres are a lot smaller on the genesis chair as it’s another great way to differentiate davros from the daleks. I also love the silver fender he had in genesis and wish they had kept that design element. However there are still aspects of the new series design that I like such as the additional silver on the top of the chair as well as the improved design of the controls and back of the chair, making the chair look even more like a mobile life support system. This is just my personal opinion, you may disagree and that is fine, to each their own as they say. Xx
i am interested to see if they decide to use the regeneration option to have davros regain his legs , he rolls up in the chair and then steps out with some horrific lower half or something.
i really wanna build newest davros dalek chair imagine using it on cosplays ! Man but i really need to find costume to look like him tho or just dress as 12th doctor
Julian Bleach is my favourite version of Davros.
Definitely the Juggernauts chair, such an excellent in between.

I thought that Davros's remaining hand got blown off by an energy pistol by Bostok in Colin Bakers TV Dalek epiosde?
So why does Davros have a hand left? It was completly blown off. That looks skeletal, not robotic.

He actually uses the Jim'll Fixit chair when he's off duty.
Is the chair that important? I must admit I prefer the original, or the chair from the classic series.
However, if Davros gives a convincing performance the chair is irrelevant. In his appearance with the 12th Doctor, for example, Davros was highly manipulative and you didn't see it coming. Suddenly his performance felt more important than how he looked on screen.

No more chairs.
No Imagination went into the new chair. Just a regular NSD fibreglass skirt and fender + hemispheres with a quickly sculpted control panel shoved ontop. I don't like the scaffolding behind his head either I prefer the more minimal chrome frame.
The original is just a dalek Cut in half with a Wooden board covered in junk on the top of it
@@plantainsame2049 no the original is a completely unique design to the Dalek skirt. No panel dimension match that of a Shawcraft or BBC goon Dalek.

Either way, Davros As a design is Half of a dalek a generic evil scientist leather lab coat And a disfigured face because ugly people are evil or something

The original chair is the best, the current chair is a little over designed and a step backwards. The original chair was controlled by Davros' sensor crown the new chair is steered by a joystick/lever.🤦♂
