  • Cubase comes with huge sound libraries that can quickly fill up Drive C. Luckily we can do something about it.

    ◼ SHOW NOTES
Steinberg's "Download Assistant" installs everything on Drive C by default which is not the best idea, since Drive C is reserved for the OS, System Files and Program Files in most of the cases. Most Music Producers want to have their large audio and sample libraries on another harddrive. Thanks to the "Steinberg Library Manager" it's a walk in the park to move big Cubase Files to another harddrive.

So this was made 3 weeks ago. 5 weeks ago I invested in a 2tb C drive; it cost me c. £70 to have Windows installed and took a day to download all my software including a new Cubase 13 Artist. I haven’t had much luck this year. 😢

I'm sorry for being 2 weeks too late :)

@@thegroundnoise That’s Brexit for you. I’ve moved the files and got by C drive down to 1tb of software! Two things that you might have mentioned a) the transfer even on a fastish computer is slow and b) Cubase will find the files in their new home, if they have been used in a composition

You're right, but a) moving big files around always can be slow, it's common sense imo and b) I mention that you must not move files by hand. That's literally the point of this video.
Anyway, thanks for your feedback! It will help me to be more accurate in future videos. Stay tuned 😎

I've seen Library Mentioned in the forums, but not used it. No excuse now!

I had totally forgotten about it for like 2 years :)
No wonder my C drive was getting smaller and smaller :D

Library manager takes care of it... nothing new there, otherwise creating shortcuts or symbolic links.
