+sl2k4u +1 : high voltage inverters can be faulty too, I am trying hard to figure which can be : bulbs, inverters, capacitors ... Even with measuring devices.

    • @Acecool
      @Acecool Před 8 lety

+RegneGames Hopefully you figured out the issue by now, but different issues can provide differing effects... Sometimes when the inverter is bad, you'll see a pink hue prior to the screen or backlight turning off. With caps in the power supply you'll end up with issues such as an audible alert if the monitor has speakers, lights turning on / off, monitor not turning on, etc... With the backlight shutting off shortly after the monitor turns on, it can be the bulb or electrical component related.. In this case because the connections were "burned" away, there was still a connection but after applying current, the wires were able to sustain it for only a short time...
This may be the same issue I'm having with one of my new monitors; I have 3 I'm waiting for caps to arrive in the main and a new one I got where the backlight shuts off in under 1 second... I'll double-check the connections on the backlight when I go through the disassembly phase. Cheers.

+Tampatec my hp 2310 just went out, do you want to fix it, I'll send it to your place, and you tell me what is wrong with it then we take it from there.,
there was some lines on the right side last night, and for the past week there was some low frequency flickering in the monitor. then went out black, as someone shut off the lights.

I found this very useful. This eliminates the possibility of bad capacitors. You could easily apply this theory to some issues on certain LCD monitors. I'm not saying it could apply to all, but it could help to narrow down the problem a lot easier. I'll take this into consideration. Thank you for this tutorial.

Thanks bro, you helped me save 9 monitors for my home setup. I just needed the tubes. What I learned is my tubes were fine after 16 years on HP 1730. What fails on this model is the output coils secondaries. The low height transformers that are about the size of a stamp. These are hard to find so you might have to rewind them. Old HP were built like tanks.

This video was very informative. My model would stay on for 1 second then turn off. If I had the monitor in the right lighting I can barely make out text, so this led me to believe it was a backlight issue. I was able to make my way into the settings>brightness section and decreased the brightness. I then turned off/on the monitor and it worked. Not sure how long it will last now. But one thing is for sure..the monitor's capacitors (as stated in this video) are more than likely busted.

Like the video. My infrequent use server monitor fell on the floor once. Didn't notice any issues at first. Month later I have the 2 second problem. I opened it up. It's a very flimsy mechanical design but the PCB boards are solid and I couldn't find any suspicious caps on the power or video board. I didn't look into the light bar. I am curious: Would an intermittent connection cause a specific timeout in the power to the lighting?

Still helpful after all these years. The 3 second issue, and no visible cap issues, caused me to explore into the LCD. Sure enough the ribbon attached to the actual LCD separated, and I was done, but found the source of failure and Ozone smell as a shorting to the metal bulb housing on just one. Any vids on that repair. Could never get even those exercise bike B/W LCD ribbon to reattach, with heat.

Since I have it apart, I think I will check the backlights, as I know that is what is wrong with it, because I can take a flashlight and shine on the screen and see a picture. Thanks for this. hey man thanks on covering about the backlight ,totally subbed :),everyone else are on the same boring bulged caps hehe... i have a few question bt fore that ,did you know if you take a torch a shed light directly on the black screen you can actually see the desktop or watever it is being display after that 2sec dissapointment bt on a very dim setting ,thats how i accidentally discovered mine that it had a backlight problem and i thought you could used that info if you by chance havent mentioned it im not much of techie but iv done countless DIY, iv been too uninspired to fix it cos i wasnt sure how id replace or fix the backlight, getting a new one is not on my interest right now cos my other music project needs more funding n right at this stage of the recording i missed and i the need for 2 monitor i once is back,iv been using my note pro for my artwork which was to compensate the black screen lying somewhere now and i saw ur solution got me all excited this single huge lcd tv is not enough, okay enuff usless talk, my question is what if the backlight were beyond repair by your methods are there any possible fix, what are the other common problems and finally could i replace it with these back lght from a 17" lcd i salvaged from old lappies i got like three of them,2 sony viao, one acer/hp i think..thanks once again!

I have one of these (HP w2007v) and it went black. Turns out one of the four CCFLs is completelly burned out, it's not a cable problem.
I disconnected that pair and tried a spare CCFL pair from another monitor, not the same size, but just to check, and the screen works fine (apart from the darker bottom, of course, since only the top pair is lighting it).
I ordered a CCFL to LED conversion kit, but I foresee a problem: This HP, when one or two of the CCFL pairs is not connected, the screen itself goes to sleep.
Since the Leds will be connected to some 12v source, and not the inverter, what can I do so it doesn't go out by the lack of CCFLs?
    Thanks

    Hello,
I opened my HP 2210i monitor because I have no more images.
After taking everything apart, I realized that on one of the 2 backlight bars, the neon species are broken at one end (the one where there are the 2 wires). So I can't glue them back together or solder the wires again like in the video.
Also, I was wondering where to find the backlight bars to replace mine? The only reference I have is 1P-9CT91DFfN9 and I can't find anything on the web with this reference (even partial).
Thanks for your help and reply.
    Have a good day

Hi, Thanks for sharing I learned something from all your videos, very helpful.
I have this problem for 2 monitors Philips and Benq and I changed capacitors and it is still turning off after some seconds. Everything seems to work. And I used lamps from another monitor and still same and this lamps work on other monitor so I don't think they are the problem. Please help, Any advice?
Thank again and waiting for new videos!!!

I found my problem as I saw bad lamp I just decided to remove it, but circuit saw a bad lamp and goes off. So I need four plugged lamps to work.

No signal simply means that the monitor is not connected to a powered up video card or laptop output.

I'm curious if you have any ideas on my "strange" issue with an HP 2311x monitor. It will run just fine EXCEPT when I go to maximize any sort of video or even a picture to full screen and it will then shut off and reboot?! Does that on both a Win 10 machine and on a Raspberry Pi 4.

Hey I have this monitor but it doesn't turn on at all I can heat it powering up so there's power but the screen don't come on at all and the led on button at the top doesn't light up either. Do you know what would be the issue with this?

My old LG 1718S has this problem.
    Switched on:
Displays LOGO: briefly shows Online screen and switches Off!
I also notice small sparking on 9 pin Shell, when connecting.

I have this same problem on my HP w2207h, on my old video card this issue didn't happen, the picture was solid but the card went bad. Got a new ATI RX 560 card (4gb) and plugged it in. Now in the mornings when I start the PC and turn on the monitor the monitor will remain black and show nothing, I turn off the monitor and then back on, and it will show the picture and color bar for 2 seconds and go back off. I do this 2 or 3 times messing with auto select button and it will come on solid and be fine ALL day!
problem with the monitor or the card not supplying power enough or a warm up problem?
