Very nice video again, do you have a video where the lamps are ok and you check the Power board capacitors? thanks so much.
I think I'm gonna buy another computer
+sl2k4u +1 : high voltage inverters can be faulty too, I am trying hard to figure which can be : bulbs, inverters, capacitors ... Even with measuring devices.
+RegneGames Hopefully you figured out the issue by now, but different issues can provide differing effects... Sometimes when the inverter is bad, you'll see a pink hue prior to the screen or backlight turning off. With caps in the power supply you'll end up with issues such as an audible alert if the monitor has speakers, lights turning on / off, monitor not turning on, etc... With the backlight shutting off shortly after the monitor turns on, it can be the bulb or electrical component related.. In this case because the connections were "burned" away, there was still a connection but after applying current, the wires were able to sustain it for only a short time...
This may be the same issue I'm having with one of my new monitors; I have 3 I'm waiting for caps to arrive in the main and a new one I got where the backlight shuts off in under 1 second... I'll double-check the connections on the backlight when I go through the disassembly phase. Cheers.
+Tampatec my hp 2310 just went out, do you want to fix it, I'll send it to your place, and you tell me what is wrong with it then we take it from there.,
there was some lines on the right side last night, and for the past week there was some low frequency flickering in the monitor. then went out black, as someone shut off the lights.
Thank you! I've been trying to solve this for a month now.
Awesome work. Thanks for posting the video. Great help. Great video.
Just wanted to say a giant Thank You! I just used this guide to repair an HP 2509b monitor.
I was very skeptical because both lights were going out, but fixing the burned area on a single bulb unit seems to have done the trick.
All the best!
Awesome! Congrats fixing your monitor 👍.
How did you fix the burned area, because it means there is an open in the bulb?
Thanks! Very helpful. I look forward to trying your recommendations.
As always. You are right on the money, and I applied this method to my Emerson LTDN42V68US LCD TV. Thanks a mill, and keep it going for the ams like myself
This is one of the best how to videos I have ever seen.
Thanks for the tip on the burned out wire. I took the disassembly slow, but got it done without breaking anything. The monitor is back up and running.
I found this very useful. This eliminates the possibility of bad capacitors. You could easily apply this theory to some issues on certain LCD monitors. I'm not saying it could apply to all, but it could help to narrow down the problem a lot easier. I'll take this into consideration. Thank you for this tutorial.
cool thanks!
Same here, i'm looking for a faulty capacitor and discover this video. Many Thanks @TampaTec !
thank you this is so helpfull
I have a 26" Vizio it turns on and the picture comes on the screen but then the lights just goes out after like 3 to 4 sec. the image is still on the screen but you have to flash a light on it. I thought it could have been the inverter but could it be the led lights like on this video?..
Thanks for sharing information on repairing monitor, it was very helpful.
Thanks bro, you helped me save 9 monitors for my home setup. I just needed the tubes. What I learned is my tubes were fine after 16 years on HP 1730. What fails on this model is the output coils secondaries. The low height transformers that are about the size of a stamp. These are hard to find so you might have to rewind them. Old HP were built like tanks.
WOW that is a really smart fix!! Thank You for your helpful video. Happy new year Blessings :)
Another awesome video bro! Thanks for sharing your knowledge, you've helped me fix a crap load of TV's in the past few months! Definitely saving me cash!
cool
oh yeah, but he also shows a lot of how to vids for common tv fixes too and they have really helped me repair quite a few of them. This guy really knows his stuff! This video in general helped me repair a similar model monitor as well. If you're looking for repair knowledge then tampatec is a treasure!
Thanks man! Its super useful and clear. Cheers from México
Thanks, very helpful video. Looking forward to your next videos.
This video was very informative. My model would stay on for 1 second then turn off. If I had the monitor in the right lighting I can barely make out text, so this led me to believe it was a backlight issue. I was able to make my way into the settings>brightness section and decreased the brightness. I then turned off/on the monitor and it worked. Not sure how long it will last now. But one thing is for sure..the monitor's capacitors (as stated in this video) are more than likely busted.
Tnx for tutorial i just fix my canyon 19inc lcd.Same problem picture turn on then off after 2 sec.Really helpful tip tnx again.
Thanks for the video. I just got around to try to fix my monitor. It turned out one of the light bars was burnt out so in the trash it goes. But your video was very helpful.
Nice Tip , helpful video came across this several times . Easy to fix once you know , I think this is caused due to the heat of the CFL and perhaps the wire sheaf ( outer protection ) melting
cheers mate followed thru and worked aswell
Like the video. My infrequent use server monitor fell on the floor once. Didn't notice any issues at first. Month later I have the 2 second problem. I opened it up. It's a very flimsy mechanical design but the PCB boards are solid and I couldn't find any suspicious caps on the power or video board. I didn't look into the light bar. I am curious: Would an intermittent connection cause a specific timeout in the power to the lighting?
Thanks for this very very useful video. After a detailed inspection on the supply board, there was no error. Then I open screen and it was exactly this problem. Samsung T220HD
I bought an ASUS VTG248QE 3D 24" monitor to save time. But, your video inspires me to fix my old HP 1259m monitor to use on and older computer at some time in the future. Thank you for a brilliant fix. I hope I can be as patient to do the job as you.
Perfect! Quick with no no extra junk. I just fixed my 22" acer with this problem. Just note that with acer the light test would still turn off after 3 secs - it turns off automatically if no signal detected....
hi. i want to use those lcd lights for some other purpose. can i just connect them up to a power source and if so what voltage would i need?
Thank you for the tip. I have the exact same HP monitor...
Omg thank u thank u I got my dell 21 inch fixed thank u !
very informative video...thanks for uploading..
Is there a way to reattach a TAB bond once it falls off 1 came off while I was disassembling the monitor?
Still helpful after all these years. The 3 second issue, and no visible cap issues, caused me to explore into the LCD. Sure enough the ribbon attached to the actual LCD separated, and I was done, but found the source of failure and Ozone smell as a shorting to the metal bulb housing on just one. Any vids on that repair. Could never get even those exercise bike B/W LCD ribbon to reattach, with heat.
Interesting video. I have a Hannsrpee 25" monitor that is coming on and going off. At first it was on for half a second and I replaced some caps and now it stays on for 8-10 seconds. Since I have it apart, I think I will check the backlights, as I know that is what is wrong with it, because I can take a flashlight and shine on the screen and see a picture. Thanks for this. I'll update when I take it apart further and see what I find.
Great video, I will give this a try.
I suspect this would work for an HP LE2201w as well, as I have a pair of those that do the same thing, and may be able to get a couple more if I ask nicely.
great video as soon as i pick up some solder ill try it out
Hi thanks for your video, tomorow I ll try to fix my screen.
My HP W-2007 does same thing will it work for mine what your showing here?
Thanks love the video
hey man thanks on covering about the backlight ,totally subbed :),everyone else are on the same boring bulged caps hehe... i have a few question bt fore that ,did you know if you take a torch a shed light directly on the black screen you can actually see the desktop or watever it is being display after that 2sec dissapointment bt on a very dim setting ,thats how i accidentally discovered mine that it had a backlight problem and i thought you could used that info if you by chance havent mentioned it im not much of techie but iv done countless DIY, iv been too uninspired to fix it cos i wasnt sure how id replace or fix the backlight, getting a new one is not on my interest right now cos my other music project needs more funding n right at this stage of the recording i missed and i the need for 2 monitor i once is back,iv been using my note pro for my artwork which was to compensate the black screen lying somewhere now and i saw ur solution got me all excited this single huge lcd tv is not enough, okay enuff usless talk, my question is what if the backlight were beyond repair by your methods are there any possible fix, what are the other common problems and finally could i replace it with these back lght from a 17" lcd i salvaged from old lappies i got like three of them,2 sony viao, one acer/hp i think..thanks once again!
nicely done, I wish I'm patient just like you on putting them back together again :(
I have a Sharp LCD monitor when I plug the vga cable from a loaded windows CPU it display the windows screen for 1 sec and goes black, also when turning it on. But looking closer at the screen I can see the icons it's just too dark, like off. Do you think this video relates to my LCD monitor's issue? Thanks.
I have exactly same issue with my LG monitor. Were you able to resolve the issue? Thank you
Mine just started to do this. Same monitor. Hopefully i'll be able to fix it. Thanks for the video!
Hi would just like to ask i do have a problem with hp 22fi monitor, there is a 1" at the bottom that got dark horizontally. Can this be fix? And how?
Thank you
Thanks, very helpful video
thanks for this video. I tried this. checked the wires of the ccfl and they were fine. checked the caps too. seems good to me. so I tried plugging in just the ccfl bulbs just like how you tested it in the video the the lights continue to work. but when I assembled it again, the problem still exists. And to add up, the LCD now only displays white. I will try to check again when I have free time.
I'm trying to find an LCD screen for an HP 2009m monitor. Do you know who sells these screens. Haven't had much luck in finding parts for it.
Nice work! What to do if my monitor is not turning on? I replaced my capacitors already? Not sure what else to check?
Is this specific to a given panel manufacturer or panel series?
you got a new subscriber :)
hi i have a acer x223w moniter it comes on the go dark i change out the capacators but the same problems do you think it is the bulb?
Subscribed. Tomorrow I´ll fix and AIO thanks to you.
Thank you for a great vid. I particularly appreciate you fast forwarding through the disassembly, on my side of the swamp data transmissions make a hole in your pocket and most tech videos can be unbelievably painful to sit through. I'll be visiting your other contributions. All the best !
Sorry I forgot to mention I have the HP 2009m monitor. And thank u so much for this video. :)I accidentally broke one of the ccfls. Where do I purchase another one from? Where's the part number? I'm not familiar with replacing ccfls.
Thanks bro....very good i'll try it at home with my old hp pavillion.....
Are the four backlight CCFL connectors wired to power 1/4 of the display or are two powering the display and two used to control the intensity of the backlight and if so, which is which? As in which color wires are the power and which are the control, or are they all power?
My ELO Touch 32 inch ET3243L is doing the exact same thing, turns of after about 3 seconds. Could you please advise me which board cause the problem for this model.
Hi. Can we use the multimeter to test whether the backlight bulb is good or bad? Is it correct that if the multimeter test leads (ohmeter) are connected to each of the pins of the backlight bulb, the meter should show low resistance or the opposite?
Thanks
I wish i could just bring my monitor to you on screen LOL xD
Thanks for your help
I have one of these (HP w2007v) and it went black. Turns out one of the four CCFLs is completelly burned out, it's not a cable problem.
I disconnected that pair and tried a spare CCFL pair from another monitor, not the same size, but just to check, and the screen works fine (apart from the darker bottom, of course, since only the top pair is lighting it).
I ordered a CCFL to LED conversion kit, but I foresee a problem: This HP, when one or two of the CCFL pairs is not connected, the screen itself goes to sleep.
Since the Leds will be connected to some 12v source, and not the inverter, what can I do so it doesn't go out by the lack of CCFLs?
Thanks
Isnt there hi-voltage in modern LCD monitors? Are they safe to open and touch while testing? (I mean: except the 220v power transformator area, of course)
Great video you make it look easy however Im not confident enough to dismantle my TV so will have to take it to a repair store. How much would you roughly pay to get it repaired? I dont want to get ripped off.
Nice thanks.
will a tv still work with a cracked ccfl tube? or will this cause the board to shut off
opened up an older HP model W22 ... one connection was indeed burnt through... can't remember which order the plastic sheets have to go (couple of them) before reassembling.
Hey *****,
I have a very old monitor which I'm using for over 10 years now, its a Dell 1504fp Silver.
I has the exact same problem, it goes on and over 1-2 sec. it turns off. i don't think that there is something wrong with the back lighting though, i thinks it's the capacitors as you've mentioned. So what can i do about that?
Hi Master, I had a broken ceramic fuse "F801T3.15A/250VAC". But I can't find this type of fuse in my city. Could you tell me PLEASE, can I use the fuse ""F5A 250V or F4A 250V" instead of it ???
Hi sir does the indicator light at the power button working?
How to fix VERTICAL LINES on Display, I have AL-IN-ONE COMPAQ PC.
My new monitor Dell S2417DG got serious issues with the LED TN screen is damaged and cracked. I unable to find the new screen panel for it.
Some say he's still trying to put it back together 😂
I have an HP LP3065 that, when power button is pressed, will illuminate the status LED green for a few seconds, then orange. Nothing onscreen. Makes a faint clicking noise when on. The computer sees it at the correct resolution. Do you think the backlight is the problem? Thanks for the tutorial btw.
hello +Tampatec mine is hp pavalion 22xi it turns off after 2 hours and i have to unplug it then the time becomes shorter is it the same problem . checked the capacitator on power supply board and they're fine ?! is it the backlight ccfl ? note the lower the brightness the longer it stays
It sounds like something is overheating. Could still be capacitors, they could be on their way out. They're cheap enough that you could replace them to be sure. It most likely isn't the issue shown here.
Great!!
it worked, two leads were burnt.
but now screen goes blank after few minutes. power off and power on brings it back, it repeats.
vga cable re insert will also brings back
Same problem with my Samsung Lcd, did you get any solutions.??
Don't know if you'll respond. I have an hp 2509b model. Took everything apart and when I power it up one light (top) comes on and the lower gives a low purple glow on one end. I've swapped the bulbs opposite but still occurs in the lower side. All capacitors appear fine.
Thanks for the vedio... just a question, I encountered a simila problem with LG Flatron w2242p monitor which swith off after three seconds.... Is it similar case to this vedio which i can troubleshoot it, or any possibilities there for me go about.... Please I need your ASAP...

HOW TO OPEN AN HP 27ES MONITOR TO REMOVE THE LCD AND REPAIR, AS IT HAS VERTICAL STRIPES. THANK YOU
hi there i have a ÀOC 19" lcd monitor which had the same problem. i opened it up and checked any bulged top capacitor but all seemed fine. then i went towards ccfl and checked the terminals and they were perfect. for a test i put only 1 CCFL plugged and gave a run. it kept on for 2 seconds and did yhe same for other which resulted same. can you help me with it as my lcd does not stay on after 2 seconds.
thanks thats a simple way to fix this kind of problem in a monitor
Thank you, again, you make cool videos, please keep them coming
thanks, you got it
@@TampaTec Hey I have this monitor but it doesn't turn on at all I can heat it powering up so there's power but the screen don't come on at all and the led on button at the top doesn't light up either. Do you know what would be the issue with this?
Thanks brother... To solve this problem.. Same problem as here..
Tengo mi monitor lcd q solo seve la imagen en la parte superior unos 4deos seve las lamparas estan bien como se repara ante mano gracias
Hello,
I opened my HP 2210i monitor because I have no more images.
After taking everything apart, I realized that on one of the 2 backlight bars, the neon species are broken at one end (the one where there are the 2 wires). So I can't glue them back together or solder the wires again like in the video.
Also, I was wondering where to find the backlight bars to replace mine? The only reference I have is 1P-9CT91DFfN9 and I can't find anything on the web with this reference (even partial).
Thanks for your help and reply.
Have a good day
Hi, Thanks for sharing I learned something from all your videos, very helpful.
I have this problem for 2 monitors Philips and Benq and I changed capacitors and it is still turning off after some seconds. Everything seems to work. And I used lamps from another monitor and still same and this lamps work on other monitor so I don't think they are the problem. Please help, Any advice?
Thank again and waiting for new videos!!!
I found my problem as I saw bad lamp I just decided to remove it, but circuit saw a bad lamp and goes off. So I need four plugged lamps to work.
sir i have an lg lcd 42lc55 and the problem is blinking the green led 7 times after stabilizing about 10 seconds and i can see picture with the help of lens and after goes out
do you have experience with similar problem ??
Thank you for the video that helped me fix the backlight but I still having the following message "No signal "on my screen.Any idea ?
No signal simply means that the monitor is not connected to a powered up video card or laptop output.
Hey bro I'm trying to fix the volume button any ideas?
Hey My Dell HP 2159m turns on but switches between inputs and turns off can u help out
I'm curious if you have any ideas on my "strange" issue with an HP 2311x monitor. It will run just fine EXCEPT when I go to maximize any sort of video or even a picture to full screen and it will then shut off and reboot?! Does that on both a Win 10 machine and on a Raspberry Pi 4.
Hey I have this monitor but it doesn't turn on at all I can heat it powering up so there's power but the screen don't come on at all and the led on button at the top doesn't light up either. Do you know what would be the issue with this?
My old LG 1718S has this problem.
Switched on:
Displays LOGO: briefly shows Online screen and switches Off!
I also notice small sparking on 9 pin Shell, when connecting.
Can we use the tube outside of monitor and what volt use to tube?
I have this same problem on my HP w2207h, on my old video card this issue didn't happen, the picture was solid but the card went bad. Got a new ATI RX 560 card (4gb) and plugged it in. Now in the mornings when I start the PC and turn on the monitor the monitor will remain black and show nothing, I turn off the monitor and then back on, and it will show the picture and color bar for 2 seconds and go back off. I do this 2 or 3 times messing with auto select button and it will come on solid and be fine ALL day!
problem with the monitor or the card not supplying power enough or a warm up problem?
Thanks so much bro.
What voltage is required to turn them on ?
Thanks it worked !!!
hey Yo can you recommend me where I can get the Lights itself from ??? thank you
I did what you said everything worked out well, but now my monitor works only with the bottom lights on. The top light "bulb" cracked.
This is a very late comment, but is you respond: I also broke one of the bulbs did you find a way to fix it?
hi, my blacklight is blinking fast. what is the problem? i wanted to fix it by myself but i have no experience on any electrical stuffs
It works now . Thanks :D
I have 24inch lg LCD TV same problem could I fix with this method.
