This is another special video everyone. As was the case with my American A330-300 video last week, this is the final new footage I have from onboard a Delta Air Lines McDonnell Douglas MD-88. This was one of my last flights before the pandemic really took off in the US, and since Delta has now retired all of their MD-88's, this is the last full flight I'll ever post of one. So, for the last time, enjoy this flight on the old Delta Mad Dog!
Are they going to bring them back after this pandemic?
Fire Alarm Madness They and the MD-90 are done. Alot of them are set to being scrapped. Ive seen rows of seats and other equipment from these MD-88s on ebay. I took my last flight on them BDL to ALT to BDL late May before CT did all of those crazy health declarations and mandatory quarantines.
@@ryanstoddard1803 Oh.
Planes are just so majestic, I love them, and I loved that engine buzz. The engine sound of a Mcdonnell Douglass is so unique.
Love those JT8D's and gonna miss having them in the rear! The sound of the JT8D's scream the golden age of aviation, and the 1960-1990 jet age vibes! Fortunately, I live in Canada and some 737-200's still fly with those engines, but the Maddog days are done it seems. I love it when the low bypass engines spools up then spools back down to idle, creating a very vintage engine idling sound. For example: 8:47 or after landing at 50:10. I also like the G-note that comes on during PA announcements.
I love these planes! What a cool affect as you see the shadow of the plane increase in size just before touchdown. Smooth landing!
Great video! MD 80 series were always my faves! "Felt" like an airplane! Love the whine of those Pratt and Whitney's too !!
Love your videos.... All these terrific MD-80s...
I'm glad you're enjoying the videos my friend. It's too bad you can't fly on the MD-80/90's in the US anymore. I sure loved them.
What A Fantastic View You Got I Loved The Video I Miss Flyig So so Bad I Been On A Plane Twice!! The First Time I Was Only 9 years Old!! 😁 And I Was By Myself Believe It Or Not The 2d Time I Was 17 Or 18 But I Really Miss Those Times Great Video By The Way 💖❤💙🤩
Another great & historic video
Great video!! I hope your staying safe!
Wow! A whole lot of throttle before the landing!!!! Loved the video!!!! Thank You!!!!!
Thanks for watching my friend!
I loved the shadow of the plane when it was coming into Panama city awesome
I loved flying on these from ECP to ATL and back while traveling to other destinations.
Great video! I miss that ole workhorse.
My kingdom for Delta's classic DC-9 Series 32s... I have a bunch of audio recordings of those classic DC-9s before they were retired in 1991. Then - Delta got NWA's classics.
Fantastic work mate! What an aeroplane!
Thanks my friend!
Thanks for sharing this! I used to fly out of ECP when I lived up in the panhandle...
Great job 👍
Nice landing! Cool! 😎
Awesome man👍👍. Liked
Nice Video!
LOVE that long takeoff roll
This video is now my favorite engine start up.
Time for another ride to Panama City.
😢😢😢😢RIP Mad dog MD88! One of my favourite aircraft!
My favorite Delta!!:) There's nearly everyday plane Incheon to Detroit. Really miss the flight and USA
Almost sounded like you were Filming from Outside the plane lol
Love it 😍
Great Video! Not much buzz on departure I presume they put in a massive derate on the Takeoff thrust
2:25 I've always loved this buzzing sound whenever I had flights on MD80s but I've always wondered which component of the aircraft was making it. Some say it's the APU but I dunno.
Dammit I miss these birds.
I also did an ATL>ECP flight on one, also 30A!
I will miss the MD on these panhandle routes! I flew them ATL-VPS in 2018!
11:11: take off begins here.
Was that a bird at @47:29? Black thing appears over inboard flap in lower right...
De nuevo que excelencia de calidad
I miss Eastern Airlines
12:10 there's another plane taking off
Really going to miss the JT8D buzz...
NOOOO I FORGOT MY TICKET AT HOME!!!
Great vids 😉
Thanks my friend!
@@sla31 No problem!
Daily dose of models!
I thought MD-80s is back in service again.
Sadly no. They have all been retired.
Anyone else see that at 47:28? Looked like a small bird...
It is a shame that plane with great engine sounds lacks such a nice exterior. I am not a fan of the T-shaped tail design and I prefer seeing engines attached to the underside of the wing
Really? I actually like the t-tails and rear mounted planes. They're actually beneficial for smaller runways that have gravel because the engines are too high for gravel to get sucked in. Some of the most iconic planes are t-tails. Plus when the engines are mounted like that, you can hear the engines more clearly.
I miss these sounds bc The Cronvirus
lol I’m really scared of those planes.
You’re scared of those planes as in the MD-88? Well, if that’s what you’re saying, then you don’t have to worry. These have all been retired.
Skylite Productions Why? The pandemic?
No, they’ve been completely retired.
Skylite Productions That’s kinda upsetting, I planned to use the MD-90, when I was a flight attendant, and I would use it more to get more used to it, no use now. 😒
@@thefuturefrontierpilot75 They are in service with some very small airlines, but they've been retired to to age and fuel economics. Why were you scared of them? They were solid workhorses.
Instead you
