- Amazon? Lazada? Market Market? Apparently, this is real life for Americans trying to make a life in BGC.

ABOUT US
We’re the Lockwoods. And we’re traveling the world to experience-up close and in person-all the natural wonders and distinct cultures that our kids would otherwise be consuming only through textbooks and TV. We think it’s a better way to learn and we’re working hard to fund this little experiment in the hope that our kids will grow up wiser, kinder, and more grateful for the beauty of our diverse planet and its people.
Only the Lockwoods can make a video about a toaster and it's still a lot entertaining than most other vlogs!
True! And I enjoyed watching it as well
Congratulations! You just made a toaster purchase into a minimovie! You guys just know how to make the mundane into something worth watching! Takes a lot more than editing to do that. Hope the toast is good!
Thank you so much!!! So happy you see this episode in that way.
Asahi and Hanabishi are actually good brands for appliances here in the Philippines and are affordable, so you guys hit the jackpot✨
Hanabishi is low Q
@@renco9141Really? I think they've been around since the 80's. And it's a Japanese brand. I have a Hanabishi microwave. I hope it will last.
@@Scamander1417 That's if you get real Hanabishi. There are so many copy cats around that it has compromised the brand name.
Asahi appliances are built to last
have been using Asahi most of my life and I agree
personally, most Filipinos would buy the oven toaster and not the standard toaster, because with an oven toaster, you can use it for more items than just bread, aka reheating most fried food so that they remain crispy, or cook simple things like hotdogs, hams, and sometimes bacon. BTW love that last show of everyone waiting for toast. That placed a huge smile on my face.
We have a really good working oven. So I think we would use that for what you’re talking about. We were just on a mission for the most simple toaster. We could find that would get the job done. 👍🏻
@@livethephilippinesYes, we usually prefer that type of toaster. Like even if you have stale chips, just toast it in the ‘oven-style’ and it’s crunchy good again (after cooling). And they’re sometimes the same price too (for small ones).
Asahi is a trusted brand in the Philippines you'll never go wrong with that toaster. I've been using mine for years and yes that lid is a plus point.
And also, when purchasing appliances online or any electronics always look for the official store and check the reviews too.
Good to know! 👍🏻 we’re happy with our choice.
Erin and Phil are kings and queens when it comes to setting a good example to their kids and allowing the children to see the importance of budgeting. simply the best family 🤍
I like how he said it in 11:22,
"Its 850php, and 850 is not 14,000php",
its crazy how they sell a toaster for 14k?!!!
Asahi is a quality brand So its always good to look for other option and going to Market Market department store is a smart move 👍
We accomplished our goal! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
@@abbybaldelovar8121 it does the same job.....
Bro, that's SMEG.
@@sodiumchloride6431 yet still, 14k is too much for a toaster.
im so happy that you've learn so much here in the Philippines, like buying stuff that less the prize.
Glad you guys are showing you're kids how to shop around for better deals on things. We love toasting our bagels daily with coffee to start our day in Seattle. What I love and appreciate most about the Philippines is every shopping experience with the amazing Filipinos is the Security greet you with a smile and all other staff and when you buy a product they pull it out and check everything with you. Also for parking in the mall garages you never have to worry about car break ins like in the USA security watch everything so it's very rare in the mall garages in the Philippines. You guys are so much fun to watch! LET'S GOOOOOOO ABC/LTP.......MOMDUTY......IN BGC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
husband speaking - Yep, go into the elevator and stand there then realize you did not push up or down, been there.
All too often 😆
Love the day to day life, makes me think living there may be possible one day. When i travel, i love going to random stores, groceries etc to see how people live
Never in my life would I ever think of watching someone buy a toaster. But I thoroughly enjoyed this video for some reason. 😅
SMEG is a super high end brand. So it’s pricy but over $200 is price gouging.
So entertaining...love that the whole family is in on the production. You guys should frequent the top floor of that Market Market mall for electronics, gadgets, cell phone stuff, etc...Even drones. Cheaper than High Street!
Wow, that's cool! It's like I'm watching a day in the life of the Lockwoods! It's kind of like you're really embracing the Filipino way of life, especially with your experiences like buying everyday items such as toasters. Experiencing firsthand shopping here in the Philippines is definitely an unforgettable experience!
In BGC, Market Market is the go-to place if you seek less expensive stuff. For a lot of us Filipinos, we don't care much about high-end stuff, if it works, we'll take it.
The asahi brand is pretty good, we use the same brand for our oven toaster and other appliances as well like electric fan and rice cooker
Send the delivery to Ocampo family since they have someone to receive it. Ask Nelvine to pay for it as well, then collect it afterward. 😅
This is the best idea ever!!!😆🤣Hilarious!!!!!!
I love how you guys are kind of putting your self out there more now than staying with what’s comfortable or what you guys are used to I know bgc gives that comfort but life is too short to stay inside the fence
You guys are really adapting to Philippines' style of life. ❤
this was a fun vid. love the editing.
what i learnt is everyday can be an adventure.
also, i love that the kids are confident with what they want at their age i.e. ordering what they want to eat and buy.
just an observation.
ingat lagi (take care always).
Every time you upload a new one, I just like, YESSS!!!!! here I go!!!!
more shopping and unboxing videos pleeaaassseee!
Just subscribed. I love Philippines, too! Thank you for loving our country.
Yes pare but you and I know 850 isn't cheap di ba? I'm American lived here for decades I wish they stop saying everything is cheap because it's really not and I've worked with many foreigners when I came here as an Expat worker, but ended up broke and very very few can last here five years or more it's not easy here for most me I have a few business my income has now exceeded what I was making in United States. I am also involved in some manufacturing. and everything is exported so I'm earning dollar equivalent
Loved the editing!!!
Thank you!! 😊
Keep the vlog coming….im waiting
We saw you guys 3 weeks ago on the sunday morning im too shy to speak with you guys soon ill try my best to take a picture with yall enjoy our country and thank you for visiting philippines
I love Market Market! Missing home! Watching from Germany. ❤❤❤
You guys are amazing
Keep posting video pls❤
Abenson is also a store selling home and kitchen appliances that can deliver same day after you checkout within Metro Manila. They have their own online shop.
Anson's is another alternative but not sure if they do deliver same day upon checkout as Abenson.
There’s Abenson near one bonifacio mall…you should also try True Value in Forbestown near burgos circle
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Such a fun video! Very cool family 😍
this is relaxing somehow. great job guys
I have been following your live videos and enjoyed it.
Awesome! Thank you! 🤗🤗
Big difference with regards to prices in BGC and MarketMarket. Good job guys👍

Didn't think this would be enjoyable to watch. Nice vid! :D
L❤ve this vlog! 👌 Awesome Lockwoods!!! 👏
Haha! Love it! Very entertaining-my favorite part is the scene where you were waiting for the toast. 😂😂
A whole adventure for a toaster! Haha love it! Love the very random vlog 😆
Good job. That's one good toasted adventure. I like the actual bread toasting clip , which is very cinematic.
Glad you enjoyed it! 🤗🤗
This is a simple content but I'm really enjoying watching the full video because I appreciate how engaging you are in the videos you're doing.
Thank you! We appreciate that 😊
turning a small task into an actually entertaining movie?! heck yeah! gotta love the lockwoods. thank you.
Thanks!!! 😊
Good choice! Very practical
It was perfect for what we needed 🤗
All my Hanabishi fans have conked-out. Ran them 24/7 for a couple of years. I have since switched to Asahi Appliances. Trusted Japanese brand. You got the same toaster model I did.
Stateside I had a $50 Hamilton Beach toaster, with Bagel Mode.
"Wow, crumbs!" So relatable.😄 I just can't get enough of you guys. It's like waiting for the next season of a blockbuster series! I wish the Ocampos have uploaded today. Gotta go check.
Thank you for loving us and appreciating us so much. You can’t wait to see the next upload. You’re the best.🤗🤗🤗
Great family vlog! Love the bloopers, too! Hahaha!! 🤣😘💕
Thanks so much! 😊
13:18 Colt being the head of the family sometimes. 😂 Great vlog, Lockwoods fam! Can’t wait for your next daily life vlog!
I have the SMEG citrus juicer. In my opinion, it's one of the best small appliance investment I did, aside from the Breville Milk Frother and Aarke Carbonator. It's been five years and I still use the SMEG citrus juicer twice a week making ginger Lemon honey detox and daily for fresh orange juice. Already got my R.O.I. 😊
More videos, please!
This episode made me buy a new toaster from Amazon. Thanks a lot, guys. lol Watching from California.
i look forward for the can opener
It’s fun also to watch behind the scene video 😂❤ stay safe
Thanks for sticking around for them 😊
Nice Vid!!!
Wahaha this was fun to watch, esp the skit/edit during the elevator scene and the toasting part.
Btw, when it comes to Lazada (and other online) deliveries, you can actually request your building front desk if it’s okay for them to receive stuff and you can pick it up later on. That’s what we usually do. 😊
Totally right, going out and checking places is the best way to know what is good. I do this for electronics here too. and appliances. much needed. I so need to get a toaster as well lol
🤗🤗🤗
This was definitely entertaining and watched it like 5 times now
I like the quirky skits..As long as you guys are having fun. :)
hello love watching your video pls make more videos about how you like to staying in Philippines
What an entertaining vlog 🩷 Asahi 🇵🇭 toaster vs Smeg 🇮🇹 toaster and made in the 🇵🇭 won 💙. Lockwood fam…I’m impressed!
I do wanna buy the Smeg fridge someday 😂
Best episode and its about toasters, hehe. You can find good finds if you find hard enough and enjoy the search, nice one guys😊
Miso salmon my fave 🥲cannot wait to try these restaurants you guys are showing soon in our trip back to my motherland 🇵🇭🤍
So happy to be helpful! 😊
That SMEG brand is so stinkin’ cute though! I’d love to turn my entire kitchen into SMEG! Haha. Market Market has some great finds. We found a lot of our stuff at Abensons, plus they deliver if you can’t carry it all. And you can always have stuff delivered to us guys☺️
I love the Lockwoods family.
I❤ this episode!😊
Average employees income is only 500 pesos a day. Roughly $10. So that 160 ramen is very expensive for them already
a toaster with a lid, cool! highly recommended to homes with lots of crawly creepies lol
5:40 huge markup on that Smeg TSF01. Highest price I've seen listed in European online stores is €190 (11 580 pesos), but they're usually around €140 (8500 pesos)
Many/most brand-name items cost more here, ostensibly due to duties, freight, etc.?
Nice. Enjoy
That’s a SMEG brand- top of the line :) they also have a colab with Dolce and Gabbana
Loving the vids ❤
Yay!!! So happy 🤗
Behind the scenes are hilarious!!!
I remember when Market Market newly opened and we have to write a school paper for it. Fun high school times.
We’re glad we finally went in 👍🏻
Try visiting Mitsukoshi BGC next, you'll find some good food halls there and another option to go shopping as well 😀
We love that mall! Kids want us to take them there all the time 😊
I always this family. Very classy everytime 😊❤️
Thank you 🙏😊 so happy you liked this one too. It was a little different for us.
One of a kind episode, i enjoyed it.😊
🤗🤗🤗
I enjoy watching your channel ❤god bless you guys❤😊
i was just about to suggest market market :D
hi from the Micronesia, love your family❤🧡💛💚💙
Hey Guys, Phil your look at the end of the video was priceless, when you both looked and the final result of the toast and tried to convince everyone it was well cooked, sometimes the eyes don't lie, great video guys
😂🤣😆 happy you liked it.
16:18 that scene made me laugh so hard. If it was filmed in black and white it would be a piece of film-noir à la Bergman.. Subscribed
New subscriber here 🇵🇭
I agree Market Market is great 🎉
16:47 😂 loved this part!🤣
😂🤣🥲😅
Hehehe this episode is cute 😁
So happy you think so 🤗🤗🤗
Can opener next week! 😅 good choices guys and good lesson
lol 😆
I really love your videos 😊😊❤️
there’s lots of stores you can. choose from. it’s always good to compare prices. I don’t like Online.
Try going to SM Aura or SM Makati, Landmark, also in Makati...these department stores are not far from your place.
Love the waiting of the toast part 😂😂😂
You guys should go to Guimaras Island in May when they have their annual Mango Festival! 👌💚💛🥭🇵🇭
