- Our family just flew to the Philippines to set up a new BGC home, but since our condo lease fell through at the last minute, we're showing up homeless! Follow us on our first day in Metro Manila as we live out of a hotel, continue our search for an apartment, and try to keep our sanity.

We’re still working on securing a full-time apartment in Manila BGC (most owners seem to be checked out for the holidays), but that’s not stopping us from settling in to local life! In our first full day in town, we’re meeting up with our BEST friends (the Ocampos from the @MomDuty channel), taking our first in-person tour of an apartment we made an offer on while we were still in Denver, and then enjoying our first dinner out since sliding back into the Philippines. ABOUT US
We’re the Lockwoods. And we’re traveling the world to experience-up close and in person-all the natural wonders and distinct cultures that our kids would otherwise be consuming only through textbooks and TV. We think it’s a better way to learn and we’re working hard to fund this little experiment in the hope that our kids will grow up wiser, kinder, and more grateful for the beauty of our diverse planet and its people.
Each corresponding member of the Lockwoods and Ocampos are really a mirror image of each other. The dads are both laid back and analytical, moms are both sassy, outgoing and party types, boys are both a bit shy but very hobby focussed, girls love choreography and dancing. They both have that overall sitcom family energy and are both passionate about the same things - BGC expat living, southeast Asian travel, adventure, video production, similar hobbies etc. The universe really does bring like minded people together somehow. We're all just energy attracting others on the same wavelength.

Wow I’m so jealous I would love to live in BGC too. I’m stocked in Arizona for another seven years before I retire. Planning to move in BGC at least every six months. Keep vlogging and enjoy life in Philippines.

my broker commented that you cannot provide post-dated checks? Yeah, in the philippines, renting a condo unit long term do require post-dated checks deposited to the account of the unit owner.
One is able to provide checks with a PH bank account. And our Realtors have been great helping us with contracts that work for us. I know we’ll find the right place with the right deal 👍🏻

You guys would double your subscribers if you moved to the province. It would be interesting for sure. I lived on Leyte for 8 years full time and nearly lost my mind. BGC would have been a better fit for me, but $100 rent for a decent house kept us there. Anyways, good luck to you guys...you have a great attitude and that takes a person far in life.

I hope as a New Year's present, you were able to receive (favorable) word back from the condo owners and moving there as we speak! It's kinda cool the kids (Ocampos included) are really planning things out w their rooms inuding decors like it's a long-term thing when i know it's only 6 months and you might be flying off here and there mostly. But if yiu have adventures nearby that would be awesome too!
No apartment deal yet, unfortunately but hopefully we see some progress this week. Yes, it's great to see the kids get excited about having a little space of their own here even if it is part time. Thanks for watching!!
We are hoping to make a home here in the Philippines :) And the truth is we don't know exactly what the future holds but we want to travel around Southeast Asia and we want to come home to PH. Hoping we'll find our home here soon :)

New Year's Day in Manila is crazy with all the fireworks! It's like a war zone! It's like 4th of July 1,000% amped up!
It was the BEST night for us 🫶
The view from the apartment of the Ocampos is really a million dollar view. I also looked at those buildings already as I saw what they saw out of the window. Doesnt feel so extremly urban-y because of the Golf Course and Forbes Park with the houses and the trees in between. (Some of the richest people of the Philippines live in Forbes Park because there they can have their own houses and dont have to share a skyscraper with ordinary people of the upper class :P haha) Feels really green for being in the middle of BCG

Think about the pools are mostly in the shadow in bgc and its very cold. Always look for a place where the pool is in the sun at least partly.
