There is difference between A flopped and not give proper chance.
Martin is exceptional player. He is amazing player. But he arrived in Madrid very young, at the age of what? 15? 16? And Madrid shoot themselves in the leg with his training and loans. After that, he wasn't given proper chance by managers and a lot. A LOT of competition. Madrid still made profit, and Martin is playing high level football at the top club in top league. So he didn't flopped, just didn't fit in properly and wasn't given a proper chance. But in the end, both are happy now. Which is best outcome. Madrid didn't struggle due him leaving and made money and Martin is having amazing time in Arsenal. So win win.

Odegaard is one of a few who lived up the hype. I remember him at 16 I believe joining Real Madrid. The hype was immense 99 out of 100 footballers don't live up the hype.
Lol, 99 out of 100 is a bit extreme. Most wonderkids actually do live up to the hype, it's usually just longevity that separates talented young players from the greats. The greats are able to sustain it over their careers.

But he revived his hype currently at Arsenal. He is showing it on an elite level. Most of the others aren't.
