    I believe America and the UK have different rules on what can be labeled organic and what can not. It may explain why you see so many more "organic" branded products in the US.

      Here in the UK the legal standards for organic food is extremely high. Quaker oat sachets in America have twice the amount of sugar and additives.
      Uk food laws in general are more stricter and better as it keeps the country healthy.

    • @Jennyandersonjenny
      @Jennyandersonjenny Před 24 dny +1

      And people might see oats as a healthy option for breakfast.

    • @Jennyandersonjenny
      @Jennyandersonjenny Před 24 dny

      @@neutrino78x well I was merly stating a difference. I don't think the UK limit the amount of sugar in oat sachets, maybe its because consumers would think its too sweet and not buy it.
      But the government is now calling on manufactors to lower the amount of sugar in food to combat the obesity crisis.
      England has 15 million more people than California, so that 1% higher has to be taken in relation to the extra number of population.
      It is easier to make healthy choices if there are healthy options to begin with.
      American supermarkets are so big it would take all day to shop if you had to read the back of every items.
      Im pretty sure there are healthy and unhealthy choices in both countries. But it is hard to move away from things you may have eaten your whole life.
      And I don't wanna make oats every morning, thats why I buy the sachets as they are easy.
      Are there easy oat sachets that don't have as much sugar in them in the USA? Or would you have to make a pot of oats every morning?
      We all like convenience foods but are there healthy and not so healthy options available?
      In the UK we now have lots of healthy ready meals which wasn't around before.
      People can do what they please and what makes them happy.
      We do have imported pop tarts and lucky charms, and other cereals but they are quite expensive because of added import costs. And I think a lot of people don't buy the cereal because it is too sweet compared to what we are used to.
      It's all about consumer choice, its your choice, but you can't choice something thats not there.
