    These little white Trinitrons are getting popular lately. The super small screens hold their geometry and purity/convergence really well. The only real downside is all that white plastic, but as you mentioned, this one still looks really good. Quite a steal for $8!

    I have one of these in black. I use it for watching the local news and old 90s TV shows.

    Think I'm about to pull the trigger on one of these online - same manufacture date. Thanks for showing yours off!

    I noticed on my consumer crt's that the PC Engine looks amazing with composite regardless of tube size.

    Great vid! I've actually been looking for this set, for a decent price, for a computer desk setup. I love the white, since I think it looks very good with white / beige / light grey consoles like the SNES, PS1, and Dreamcast.

    Ha ha! I just found one locally for $5 at a goodwill type of place! No remote, no stand, kinda dusty. Haven't powered it up yet because I want to clean the PCB and parts, and maybe consider adding SV or even RGB input to it.

      @@gameselectronicsrus3909 I'm pretty stoked, I just walked by and randomly walked in and there it was. I was looking for a smaller CRT than the 13 incher that gobbles up all the room on my little computer desk.

      Really no reason to use anything above composite on these size TVs IMO. Composite looks way sharper on these small sets than a big 32" for example. Genesis games with lots of dithering will actually look far better on this composite set.

      @@overnightdelivery Hmmmm, good observation. In any case I don't really like doing mods like this, I just thought that if I'm opening it might as well. But the thing's tiny indeed.

      @@overnightdelivery I have one of these in black. I use it for watching the local news and old 90s TV shows. Even at this small size I can see some dithering on graphics. I also own a 27 inch Zenith that we've had since 1990 and for some reason, Zenith's design made the image quality of composite and S-Video almost exactly the same

    This would go together with a PSone like peanut butter and jelly 😻

    These were considered desk/kitchen tv's. Something to have on in the background while you were working/cooking. They weren't really meant for gaming or watching movies on. That's also why the cord is shorter.

      Yet they feature excellent image quality due to its small tube size.

    Cute TV. I noticed a "screen door" pattern on the grill of the tube. First time I have seen that on a Sony. Especially odd considering it's small size.

      @lander77477 Před rokem +2

      I have one of these in black. I use it for watching the local news and old 90s TV shows. Its kind of a "low resolution" screen in that the stripe pattern is the same basic size and spacing of the larger trinitrons, but since the screen is so much smaller there are fewer color stripes to build the image.

    • @jimbotron70
      @jimbotron70 Před rokem +1

      Maybe not a Trinitron tube.

    • @jimbotron70
      @jimbotron70 Před rokem

      @@lander77477 Yes of course it is, maybe on their cheaper models they cheaped out and didn't use a full Trinitron tube like in bigger models.

    8 dollars is an extremely lucky find! All I see is a bunch of rf crts for sale on fb for like 50 bucks. Luckily I got my sharp 19r-M100 for free from a garage
    Edit: not a garage sale I got it from a literal garage

    I noticed that the audio that comes from the headphone jack is terrible, sounds like the audio that you hear when you plug into the headphone jack of an airplane. Theres a background whine of some kind and the sound is muffled. I just plug my headphones directly into my DVD player or the digital converter box.

    Seen a few of these on ebay is it easy to get into the service menu and does it have good adjustment options?

      I have one of these in black. I use it for watching the local news and old 90s TV shows. Yes you can get into the service menu the same way as the larger sony TVs. The only thing that doesn't work is the horizontal size for some reason, it has the option but it doesn't do anything, but there all the other options are there
