@@JontyBlue67 Spy vs Spy Broke up in 1983 and reformed as v Spy v Spy. This one is called Spy Vs Spy so technically it's not V Spy v Spy. So I don't see a problem.
The band's initial line-up was the trio of Craig Bloxom on bass guitar/lead vocals, Cliff Grigg on drums/percussion and Michael Weiley on lead guitar/vocals. The only original member in this video is the drummer Cliff Grigg, who was the first member to leave the band in in late 1991. Craig Bloxom the original bass player and lead vocalist played his final gig in Sydney in 2003 leaving Australia for the USA, settling in Mexico finding a new career path as a chef. Bloxom now lives in Newcastle, New South Wales. Original lead guitarist Michael Weiley died after battling cancer on 29 September 2018. The original drummer Cliff Grigg who left in 1991 must have been short of cash, and formed a tribute band in 2021 to milk the band name. This line up folded in 2023, but Cliff obviously had not finished milking the band name, so he then found two local musicians from Newcastle, Paul Coxon and Paul Elliott (formerly of Rose Tattoo) to continue the tribute band under this new lineup in this video above. This is not Spy vs Spy, it is an imitation of Spy vs Spy, simply a cover band, and in my opinion an extremely poor imitation.
Thanks for the history lesson but that's the past mate. What's your solution if one of 3 members sadly passed away and the other is pursuing other musical interests? Is Queen not Queen because Freddy died? INXS with no Michael Hutchence? Dragon with no Marc Hunter? Get over it and enjoy the music. At least Cliff is still performing after 40 years.
@@F1dude71 Certainly not 40 years with Spy vs Spy, he started this 30 years after he split from the band, so no it is not Spy Vs Spy, completely different to the examples you cited.
craig is back, they announced a tour here in brazil in august, with hoodoo gurus and ganggajang. it'll be amazing, surf music 80' is very popular here in brazil.
definitely way better than the last lineup, so what if it's a new version of this band, there still going and playing great music, not trolling people from a keyboard @JontyBlue67
Now that is a great APIA ad!!
If Craig's not singing, it ain't the Spys. Simple as that.
Exactly mate and also no one can do what Mick did on his tele true legends!
O Cliff estando presente, junto ao talento dos demais, faz a mágica acontecer! Mike aprovaria...
e o craig vai voltar para a banda, anunciaram show no brasil em agosto, junto com hoodoo gurus e ganggajang.

Amazing. That's the original former band from 80's. Thanks for posting.

This is not the original band, mate, this is a tribute band, although the original member Cliff Grigg is in the drums.
Only the original drummer. The original guitarist Michael Weiley died in 2018.

@@F1dude71 Cliff spent many years away from the band. Lets at least get the history correct. This is 2/3 cover band.
